I wish I had read the reviews before I even decided to go with the recommendation to book a place through this outrageous organisation. Shame! They're supposed to be an official representative of the university but the quality of their work is just beyond redemption. The policy of having to return the key in the last weeks before the end of your contract and having your room inspected within this period is an unfair game. I knew something dodgy would happen, and I was right. They charged with some ridiculous claims I had to actually go at length at pointing out the stupidity of those claims. Of course they conceded but I still had to pay some money I still don't think I should. PLEASE HELP YOURSELF AND STAY AWAY FROM UCPH HOUSING FOUNDATION. DONT' LET YOURSELF BE RIPPED OFF!!!!

Too bad when I can’t give them 0. I got the same terrible experience for 6 months staying in the dorm. before moving out, I recorded my cleaning and mailed them. There was a small ice in the fridge however, they still reported me that my toilet was dirty, kitchen was dirty, living room, furniture, bed... were not in a good condition and I need to pay ~200euro for their cleaning. They also took some pics and sent me but compare with my records, They did nothing. I forwarded that email to them with my complaints. Therefore, I just to pay ~70euro. Before repaying, they confirmed me exactly how much money i can get back. ( and 150 kr for recharging because I choose Nodea bank).

1 star is very generous. Negative stars would be more appropriate. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY!!!!!! This place is operated by crooks, liars, and cheats! They are a predatory organisation preying mainly on international staff and students of UCPH. The Housing Foundation is an oppressive system that seeks to take as much money from its tenants as possible. The people of the foundation are rude, aggressive, and uncooperative. There is no easy way to leave this place. You pay 3 months rent at a time and you can only really move out at the end of those 3 month periods. If you want to shorten your contract like I did… good luck! You will only get any of the money back 2 months after the end of your original contract. Their notification email when I wanted to shorten it, said that my move out date was 7 June 2020. I moved out on that day and gave back my keys on that day. Only 2 days afterwards did they give me a notification that the offer to shorten was declined. When I challenged them on this, they said I was confused and that I had assumed that I needed to move out on 7 June, but that I should have checked with them. They maintained that the automatic message I received stating my new move out date was not from them and that that date was a suggestion but not confirmed. They threatened to not give me back any of my money if I kept hassling them. When I called them, they were uncooperative and unhelpful. The first person I spoke (Sarita Maurya) kept talking over me, but she at least helped to talk to her colleagues to try and resolve the matter. She then transferred me to Sana Khan who was rude, dismissive, arrogant, and condescending. She shouted at me that I was confused and assumed the information that I was given, she kept talking over me and barely let me speak. She said she would have no further discussion, she would not come to any agreement with me either and would not assume any responsibility for the mistake the housing foundation made. She was also the person who threatened not to give any of my money back if I did not cooperate with them. I attended the move out inspection and there was dust around the bathroom and bedroom exhaust vents. That was the only problem the inspector could find. He said to me it would be less than an hour cleaning and that they wouldn’t charge me for a full hour cleaning (440kr). I got the inspection report back and it said I needed to pay 646.50kr in cleaning charges for what will be less than 10 min of work. Despite that, the room was spotless and the reason I did not clean those exhaust fans was because they are too high for me to reach, even with a mop or broom. When I asked them about why the cleaning costs were so high, they said that the toilet and bathroom tiles were not sufficiently cleaned. But in the move out report it stated that they were sufficiently cleaned and there was no problem. When I pointed to the move out report (remember, this is an official document that they supply), they then said there were other things that needed to be cleaned and repaired, but then I pointed again to the move out report that stated that those items were okay. They never responded to that. This place is absolutely toxic and disgusting. This place has had lawsuit after lawsuit by tenants, but continues to run on the blood and tears of its tenants. Do not give them your money. Do not sign a contract with them. Stay far, far away. They are an evil place, filled with abhorrent people who prey on their tenants. This place and the people working there have no heart and no soul. But how to find housing in Copenhagen otherwise? I suggest joining the following groups on Facebook: • Accommodation in Copenhagen • Accommodation in Copenhagen, Taastrup and Roskilde • Expats in Copenhagen These groups post many, MANY flats and flatshares every day. They are a good place to start until you find a more permanent place for yourself. They are also often cheaper, nicer, friendlier, and less oppressive than the housing foundation.

This would be a 0. They take advantage of international students. They proposed to extend my stay with them for a 1% increase of the rent months before my contract was expiring which ended to be a 12.5% just a few weeks before my contract was expiring. I called them and ask what to do since I could'nt pay and it was not what they promise and they said it was not their problem, "just not extend" eventhough the alternative was to be homeless. They didn't care. They also told me that this was for eveyone and this was the price of the dorm for all the rooms in the dorm. The new tenants where offer a contract for the price I was paying initially plus 1% (not 12.5%). So, since they knew I probably didn't have a large network here and I didn't have time to look for something fast, and since covid I would probably have already made friendships in the dorm.

This is a terrible company. I rented a room for the summer (2.5 months), at the end I cleaned my room very thoroughly like I never cleaned anything before because I heard they are quite strict. Well, they found a dirty spot in the corner - charged ~100 USD for it. Similar with the freezer: everything was clean but there was a little ice build up since the door was not closing well, again charge of ~100 USD. There are many other good alternative housing options in Copenhagen. Stay away from these people.

Awful booking system. It has been a nightmare trying to book a room for the fall 2023 semester. First, they cannot provide an exact time when the booking system opens since it is "automatic." They only say it would be between 8 am and 5 pm local hour (their office hours). It is extremely unpleasant, especially when you live in North America because that means waking up at 2 am without knowing if the booking round has started, and staying up all night. WORST, they had a problem in their system the first day, so it was moved the following day. We only receive the notification AFTER the end of their office hours. YES, I stayed awake the whole night for nothing. EVEN WORST, the following day, after again being up all night, the booking round eventually started... but it was interrupted in the middle because the extremely competent organization cannot prepare their system to have that many people on their website (even though it is the actual same process every year). So here we are, 4 hours later, waiting to see if the system will work again (which will probably not). Message to everyone: do not regard housing through that organization as your primary source and hope. It should be only your last resort (even still). I've made that mistake.

I'm sorry, but the booking procedure is horrendous and completely unprepared for his many people to apply at the same time. I've waited for 8 hours in a queue to get an error and window that are no more bookings avaliable. Lovely :) Edit: In the end I've got a room, when I waited another 5 hours till night, when system was less occupied. But the amount of time wasted is ridiculous, I had to take two free days from my work and university.

Terrible! They try to exploit you all the time. You have to move out 7 days earlier, you are not allowed to stay one day longer. Even though you have paid for the whole month. Furniture made of the cheapest materials. Extremely high rents. Everything will be charged to you. A shame for the university.

Great to find a place, but they will make you move in a week after the start date and move out a week before the contract ends. I broke something and it was fixed right away, so that was nice. But take pictures of everything when you move out. They will charge a huuuge cleaning fee if there is anything not completely clean, so take a picture of every corner, every wall, every door, every angle you can get on the sink,...-seriously! You will need them as proof! And the moving-out inspection was days after I had to leave th apartment so I had gone home already.

0/5 stars. A re-post because my first review was deleted. No regular cleaners so the halls smell very foul. Common rooms and halls lack basic cleaning and general hygiene. They charge you for damages you didn't make if you can't prove it, even if you leave the place cleaner than you arrive. Cockroaches and insects are regular (also due to the lack of cleaning). The drains smell like sewage when you move in which is apparently "normal". Washing machines, cards, and payment websites always breaking/crashing. The wifi always cuts out too - not great for studying and terrible for video calls. In sum, VERY expensive for such poor living conditions. Employees are some of the rudest people I've ever encountered for a student residence. They don't care about the well-being of students, only their own business profits. They are based at South Campus (Søndre Campus), but not techinically owned by the University of Copenhagen, but either way completely misused their designation as an organization that is supposed to support students studying in Denmark. MY ADVICE FOR STUDENTS: Find a cheaper, larger, and cleaner place elsewhere in Copenhagen, even if it means waiting a few weeks for CPR or finding a temporary Airbnb - because it's not worth it! It's actually not as hard as people day. You're better off finding housing through s.dk, boligportal, or lejebolig - they have lots provide virtual viewings due to Covid now as well. I would also recommend that students moving to Denmark read some of articles written about the Housing Foundation by the Univeristy Post (uniavisen.dk) before making ANY decisions.

they keep in deposits with no good reason, and there's nothing you can do about it. 550 DKK for a 5*5 cm stain on the downside of a protector mattress that must have been there before (moving in pictures were only taken from the topside), and if it wasn't, could be easily removed with a wash for 50 DKK. Incredible system of organized stealing.

Notoriously proven to fix our housing issues such as broken window, door, heating, with delays that last up to month. With poor management and little effort, they only email back apologizing for the inconvenience while they fail to deal with their tenants’ issues. It is even more surprising that they have not changed their company’s system even after getting raided with negative reviews, which reflects lack of costumer care and empathy.

Lol they are a scam. They literally steal the deposits for any reason. You have to contact a lawyer and wait some months but you can eventually get your money back...

DON'T EVER RENT THERE! They are real Crooks, they take advantage of students, They will rip you off with extra payments everywhere... the apartments are old dirty, and not well maintained... i stayed for a 6-month in øresundkolegiet it felt like living in a jail... the Personnel is way impolite and not helpful at all they are protected by all this rules and refuse to give you all sorts of important information for example they refused to give me an invoice for my monthly payments... Real institutional piracy.

These people have made a business out of stealing deposits from international students. Absolute scammers and a complete disgrace for the University of Copenhagen.

Such an accommodation booking system, you have to compete with other people and wait on the cue > 20 min (at least). They inform you in advance that you have only 1 day, be ready in front of your computer to book a room! After this competitive system, you get the worst room among the choices (even though you're earliest in the system) and had to pay quite some rent for it. Then, you have such a small room (called Engvej studio), almost empty (so you have to do all the shopping even for a short stay). You clean it better than the version you got it but they can still charge you shocking amounts of damage cost (for the lime on the tap).. I would STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND! good luck

Whilst the Housing Foundation of Copenhagen is exorbitantly expensive, my personal interactions with the staff there was always refreshing. I accidentally booked my accommodation to commence 2 months after I arrived in Copenhagen and Mariam assisted me greatly and the issue was resolved within a few days.

One of the worst rental organizations you could have ever known is the Housing Foundation. They claim to be a non-profit organization, but every tenant knows that they cheat on deposits. I lived in Signalhuset for half a year, and luckily, I wasn't charged because my roommates and I spent a lot of time cleaning the entire house. However, some of my friends were charged significant amounts due to various strange reasons. Danes are generally very nice, friendly, honest, and, most importantly, trustworthy. However, the Housing Foundation is the complete opposite of them. Are you truly a Danish organization?

Under no circumstances should you ever apply here no matter how desperate is your situation. They provide terribly overpriced services. On top of that their system is malicious with awful deadlines and terrible fees (including cancellation fees, which start at 2000 DKK +price of the rent even if you didn't sign a contract or approve your booking). Any other solution will cost you less, than using this scam.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM PLEASE!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. I was charged ridiculous prices for the cleaning of the apartment after I left. According to them everything needed deep cleaning which wasn't true at all. They charge you even if the house was left cleaner that when you arrived. Ex. The mirrors were filthy when I first came and after cleaning them in my moving out inspection they were indicated as NOT OK. They charge you about 50€ for each item that according to them you didn't clean well (ex. sink, oven...). It's just ridiculous too pay this amount of money to clean a very very small room, which I repeat, wasn't damaged or anything. I also had problems with my first apartment and had to move out of that (it was just very dirty, especially the bathroom, and we had a bad experience with a man harassing us) and I had to fight with them because they didn't believe what I was saying and told me that nothing happens in Copenhagen and that it was probably just a drunk etc. (like banging on our window, chasing us when we tried to escape to the neighbors...). That's just not normal.Very bad service PLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR.
