When
earlier
this
year
there
was
talk
of
closing
down
Cinemateket,
I
fiercely
defended
them
in
a
letter
in
one
of
the
daily
newspapers,
but
now
I
have
changed
my
mind
and
will
never
set
foot
there
again.
They
have
made
some
changes
(for
the
worse)
to
their
ticketing
system,
which
has
always
been
heavy
and
bothersome
and
needed
an
update,
but
now
it
has
become
farcical.
If
you
reserve
tickets
on-line,
you
now
have
to
pick
them
up
two
days,
instead
of
45
minutes,
in
advance,
and
it
can
take
ages
to
get
the
tickets
printed
because
they
can
never
find
them
in
the
system.
The
only
thing
that
really
works
satisfactorily
is
to
buy
the
ticket
well
in
advance
and
print
it
yourself.
The
other
night
I
went
to
watch
a
film
which
was
being
screened
in
one
of
the
small
theatres,
and
it
was
sold
out
and
a
small
queue
of
people
waiting
for
uncollected
tickets.
This
resulted
in
total
chaos.
Even
after
the
film
had
started
(ten
minutes
late),
they
kept
coming
in,
counting
the
free
seats,
blah-blah-ing,
and
letting
more
people
in,
seemingly
absolutely
desperate
to
re-sell
unused
tickets.
When
15
minutes
into
the
film
this
was
still
going
on,
I
got
so
annoyed
that
I
left.
On
my
way
out
I
met
a
friend
of
mine
who
had
arrive
ten
minutes
before
the
film
was
due
to
start,
having
bought
a
ticket
on
his
“e-ticket”
card,
so
that
in
principle
he
could
just
print
his
ticket
in
a
machine
(although
personally,
I
have
never
seen
those
machines
actually
work).
Sure
enough,
it
did
not
work.
Help
was
called,
she
fumbled
for
a
while
but
could
also
not
get
it
to
work,
and
when
my
friend
finally
gave
up
and
went
to
the
ticket
counter,
he
was
“five
minutes
late”
and
they
had
sold
the
ticket
that
he
had
already
paid
for.
He
ended
up
sitting
on
the
floor
in
the
aisle.
Utterly
absurd.
I
handed
my
ticket
to
one
of
the
staff,
asking
(sarcastically,
I
thought)
whether
they
would
still
be
able
to
sell
it–
again
–
to
somebody
else
because
I
was
fed
up
with
the
noise
they
were
making
when
the
rest
of
us
was
trying
to
watch
the
film,
and
she
just
said
oh
yes,
thank
you
so
much.
Did
I
already
use
the
word
absurd?
