As of 2011 Census of India, the town had a population of 61,749. The total population constitute, 30,911 males, 30,838 females and 7,462 children, in the age group of 0–6 years. The average literacy rate stands at 69.60% with 37,781 literates, significantly lower than the national average of 73.00%.

A very small railway station serving the population of Rayadurg town in Anantpur district of Andhra Pradesh. Development work started quite some time ago, almost two years back. The platforms are being extended to accommodate longer trains and more passenger amenities are being added. A new track to Kalyandurg in the same district is being laid. This line is later proposed to be extended to Tumkur Then the coastal areas of Karnataka and many religious and places of tourist interest there will come within the convenience of Rayadurg citizens. Now they have to go to Bangalore and then perform onward journeys from there.

Because Rayadurg is the nearest town for us... Three are many tourist places.. And also special place in the world uniqueness.. Rayadurg also famous for garments and Silk industry.

Improving station. When I last visited it 3 years ago, no Electric engine would come. Clean station.

Small station, only one platform.

This station contains 2 platforms only and presently no proper washrooms not available and no proper Canteens but there is an under construction like a junction

One important fact is the train will stop only for 2 mins or less. So need to consider that fact will boarding or onboarding the train. The railway station is located on the outskirts of Rayadurgam town. It is just 500 meters away from the town center. Currently, the station is under renovation. This station is a junction point. Auto-rickshaw connectivity is available. Wheelchair-accessible entrance is available.
