    First of all this is not by any means a 5 star hotel. It is clean and the food is good and varied. Except the speciality restaurant for steak. Buffet is better. I do not know of any 5 star or even 4 or 3 star hotel in the world that does not offer room service. Twice I have been to reception and asked if We can have a bottle of wine in our room as we,d like a night in relaxing on the balcony. Both times I was told "what is in your room is Room service". Bearing in mind our room is a 10 minute walk from reception or the nearest bar, I was told we could take 2 glasses of wine back to our room . So much for the relaxing night in.! We have been in other Rius around the world and have never been treated like this.

    5 minutes from the airport. Hotel is amazing, super clean and immaculately presented throughout. Food is amazing with loads of choice, I dare someone not to find something to eat. All the food is served in an air conditioned area with seating all around the outside. It’s a great set up. Beach is superb, loads of space everyday and you never have to rush down with towels etc. 2nd time we’ve been. And will probably come back many more times. Quite simply one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in.

    The hotel is visually stunning. It seems as though you have everything you need and great service at first. The hotel is sold as a 5 star resort. Having stayed in other 5 star resorts and hotels there are a few things missing for me which mean it isn't 5 star in my opinion. Rooms are good but could be more luxurious, towels are tiny and often threadbare. No robe or slippers. Constantly having to ask for additional items like shower gel, conditioner, tea and coffee which I expect to be replenished every day as part of housekeeping. Not servicing the room at all one particular day and having to request twice. Lack of pool towels. The hotel advertises a pool towel system and we have found these to be excellent at other resorts but not here. The hotel is full and they are constantly running out of pool towels to the point where we and other guests have kept ours for several days. The workers who service the towel hut just shut the hut rather than take the old towels and give back cards and then laugh when you ask them why you can't do that. I witnessed one guest who was obviously part of a large group giving his sopping wet towels in at reception. Flies. It's a hot country and I expect there to be a lot of bugs and flies however, what I don't expect is for the hotel not to try to keep flies away from food laid out for guests. There are also no covers over the cooked food or any of the food on offer on the buffet. I've handed back several plates of food and asked staff to remove whole dishes of food because there are dead flies in it. The hotel management seem not to care though. Repetitive food and Lack of themed nights in the main buffet. Gets very samey very quickly although there is a large amount of choice but you find yourself limited because of the dead flies in the food. There are many positives about this hotel and many of the staff are absolutely wonderful however it's just a few things for me that mean I'd try somewhere else if I came back as this wasn't the 5 star I was promised. I'd say 4 star is a better description.

    We had a fantastic time in this hotel. The rooms are very clean, well maintained and spacious with 4 alcoholic drink optics for in-room indulgence. The swimming pools are all in line along the beach edge and two have lively swim up bars which we used daily. The beach is beautiful with plenty of space if you prefer that to the pools. The food is of a very good quality with the usual all inclusive buffet restaurant along with 3 specially restaurants too which had to be booked in advance, but were well worth it in our opinion. But, the thing that makes this hotel really great are all of the fantastic staff! They are really cheerful all of the time and nothing seemed to be too much of a problem to them. Although the hotel is only 10 minutes from the airport, which was a bonus with the transfer to/from, we only noticed any faint noise a couple of times during our stay. We shall return for another relaxing stay soon and can highly recommend this hotel for guaranteed sun and a good time.

    My wife and our newborn came here to relax and enjoy amazing family time. The place is absolutely stunning. The food is amazing, with a wide range of different types of food, the beach is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. If you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful island of Boa Vista, I definitely recommend it. They also have great live entertainment programmes on which is also super nice. The only thing that could be improved from my perspective is the gym and the gym opening hours.

    Very nice hotel and location. The positive aspects: Quick arrival from the airport, a very beautiful and large beach. The pools were good, with plenty of organized activities, but you can also simply enjoy the tranquility of the beach and relax. Very good food with more than enough options to choose from. The service was great and very supportive, especially the reception staff, the employees at the Africa Restaurant, and at the Capuchino coffee bar. The room was spacious enough, the bathroom was nice, and the minibar with spirits was cool. The less favorable aspects: I found the smell of the toilet water a bit unpleasant (you need to keep the lid closed), and on the first night, we had some unpleasant encounters with cockroaches (we were given a different room the next day, but we still kept a light on all night...). Also, I find the two mattresses with a large gap between them, instead of queen- or king-size beds, not so comfortable. But all in all, a good hotel.

    An amazing holiday at riu Palace. We got more than we expected. I was kindly surprised with champagne and bed decorations on my birthday . The room was cleaned every day, and the mini bar was fueled up every day. Very nice food and lots of choices with excellent waiting staff ,special thank you to Suzy for her great hospitality. Great shows every night with tasty drinks at the bar. We also had an amazing massage at the spa . I really recommend this hotel.

    {"0":"Visited for 10 nights at the end of July. What an absolutely fantastic hotel! Our first visit to Cape Verde and what a place to stay. Beautiful location on the beach. The food is amazing, always plenty of choice. Staff are super friendly with fantastic service. For the price we paid we could not have found better value. The sea can be rough but there was never a red flag during our stay. If you go to the left side of the beach it is quiet and peaceful,you would never think you are in a huge hotel. We saw countless turtles,a juvenile lemon shark, hermit crabs and ghost crabs. The main bar has fantastic table service,the pool bars always have plenty of happy staff so there is no wait. The snack bar has better food at lunch than I've known some hotels have at dinner! Theres plenty to do on the island,we did a north of the island tour, sand boarding and went into the desert star gazing,there was many more excursions we didn't do. This is the perfect place for a relaxing tropical feel holiday.","2":["0","237"]}

    Great hotel, with great service and nice food. Bit Isolated if you like to walk. Very good specialist restaurants. Kristal restaurant is exceptional. Just had 2 weeks of 30+ temperatures to boot. Highly recommended and certainly returning.

    This was our first visit to Cape Verde, we booked it for my wife's 60th birthday. It's very close to the airport but it's a small island so I assume most places are. The hotel is quite simply excellent, wonderful staff, helpful and friendly without exception. As a disabled traveller this hotel hits every level, the adapted rooms are spacious with a huge shower and with seats and hand rails to steady yourself. The showers are one of the best I've ever had, luxury does not do it justice. Apart from the main buffet restaurant, which I could not fault, they have 3 speciality restaurants, steak, fusion and Japanese. They have to be booked but are well worth doing. They have a more formal dress code so long trousers for men. For my wife's birthday we went to the Japanese restaurant and to my wife's delight they came and sang happy birthday and bought us a dessert with a candle in, we had mentioned it on passing and it was a real highlight for a special holiday. One thing I would like to add, men are required to wear t-shirts covering their upper arms for all the restaurants, no matter the sitting. The weather is pretty much guaranteed here, so the air conditioning in the rooms and the main reception area is very welcome. The place is kept beautiful, the gardens and the 3 pools are always immaculate and catered for with two pool bars, with swim up sections. We had lunch everyday in the Sal Rei restaurant which becomes the steak restaurant at night. We are not big drinkers but there is a nice bar and a theatre for nightly entertainment. I would heartily recommend the Rui Palace Boa Vista, we will certainly be back.

    {"0":"This is possibly the best hotel we have ever stayed in! Everything about it was amazing, from the sea to the service!\nThe gardens were beautifully maintained and provided the \"tropical\" feel to our short walks between the facilities and the beach. Everywhere was absolutely spotless, and the staff were so friendly and happy. In other all inclusive hotels, the food tends to get a little boring but not in this beautiful hotel. There was so much choice and variation that we never got bored over the 11 days we spent there.\nI would highly recommend staying at the Riu Palace Boavista, you won't be disappointed.","2":["0","197"]}

    {"0":"This is the best all inclusive resort I've stayed in. I don't know where to start honestly...\nCheck in was really quick, had to wait 1 hour for our room to get ready but we were able to use restaurants and bars so time weng quick.\nRoom was very clean and tidy. Minibar was stocked, fresh and clean towels.\nThe main restaurant and beach one have similar food and it's 10\/10. I've literally 0 complaints about food. It was all amazing.\nAlcohol is 7\/10 and overall the whole experience was amazing. Riu do not disappoint.\nYou also have 2 huge pools with 2 bars and there's an extra large pool between them.\nBeach is really nice with a lot of palm trees, sunbeds and volleyball and football. Volleyball is at 11:00 and then at 15:30, there was always plenty of people to play with.\n\nAlso an important part I missed is that staff are very polite and helpful. They can speak basic English which is more than enough to understand each other. No issues at all from our stay.\n\nWell done, Riu!","2":["0","172"]}

    So good we are going again in November. After a pretty miserable 2023 we decided to grab a week away and wow what a relaxing time we had, food good for all inclusive, service great, swim up room perfect. Looking forward to be there again in 8 weeks

    Beautiful hotel and location. Staff are very friendly, helpful and obliging. Cleanliness is generally very good, if anything it’s some of the guests showing lack of respect that can let it down, such as emptying fruit from drink on to floor/beach and discarding cigarette butts. I really wish that the hotel would implement a rule of requesting that all children under the age of 10 be accompanied by an adult at the buffet, I saw too many hands in food and serving spoons being used for anything/everything … not the child’s fault. Management also need to make sure that the adult only rule is adhered to at the swim up bar. The staff are far too nice to say anything.

    This is a beautiful hotel set adjacent to the beach. We have the swim up room but the pool towels are like rocking horse poo. The sun beds all are need of washing as they are mouldy. When you arrive you have pool towels in your room but beware you can not have any from the towel hut as you are not going to ven a card. You need to change them yourself as the maids do not leave any in your room. The reception are not helpful as it is a house keeping thing. I spent three days without any. Other than this the food is lovely and the rest of the staff are happy and friendly. But the housekeeping are really unhappy people. And it shows in their attitude. Also the free minibar means two drinks every two days.????

    An outstanding resort and staff!! Everything has been so carefully and well thought out, including for disabled people. Our room and bathroom were both wheelchair friendly, and all areas were accessible, although I didn't get to the splash park, so I'm unsure of the accessibility there. The staff were absolutely amazing from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left and nothing was too much trouble or as they say.... "No stress".... From the hotel, to the room, to the restaurant, to the poolside, to the beach, everywhere was clean and very well maintained. The staff were very attentive in clearing used plates away and replenishing drinks in restaurants. The food was very tasty, with lots of choice. You do have to book some of the restaurants and the men do have to wear long trousers to these, but well worth it. We did enjoy the decorative side of the cleaners when they had made the beds up, leaving beautiful displays with the soft furnishings. There are excursions out of the hotel during the day and evening if you book them. A wonderful gem of a hotel in an amazing place. Thank you for a wonderful holiday, we would definitely recommend and return at some point.

    Overall excellent experience. 10/10 for hospitality. The staff experience friendly and welcoming. No issues what do ever. Evening entertainment for kids ok - Was short but worth it. Had some issues with room which the staff did say would be happy to relocate us but we decided not to. Would visit again.

    Brilliant stay. Hotel delivered on all counts. Modern, extremely clean with above expected service. Food choices were extensive. Not a lot to do outside the complex however the beach walks were stunning. A small beach bar with spectacular views was only 20mins walk away on the beach to the south. The pools were adjacent to the beach giving a stunning backdrop to the loungers. The only criticism was the evening entertainment was low quality at times. Perfect for a relaxing break.

    What can I say but absolutely perfect in every way, the hotel is stunning, the staff are so friendly and then there's the food, I've eaten in world class restaurants all over the world and the food here keeps up with them and sometimes surpasses in quality and variety, there is something for everyone, we upgraded to a private pool which is worth evey penny, especially as it quite a windy pool/beach area. The only slight thing is there's no bins around the complex so people were putting plastic bottles in the numerous large ashtrays, causing them to blow around, we will definitely be back soon

    What is not to like/love about this place. Very clean hotel throughout the rooms, bars, restaurant & pool areas. Plenty of food choice at breakfast, lunch & dinner. Very friendly staff. Very comfortable, spacious & clean accommodation. One of the most relaxed holidays we have had. Cannot wait to come back.

    Very clean hotel! All employees are very friendly and smiling all the time. I didn't see rubbish neither at the water (also in the sea) nor at the beach or grass inside the resort. Big applause for the also always friendly workers who care for the plants, the pool and the cleaning! They do a great job! The room was always clean and decorated with love. The holiday-slow-and-relax-mode started at the first second of my visit. A big thank you to all employees of this wonderful hotel!

    Just finished a week long stay at October half term. The hotel was fabulous, modern and clean throughout with great facilities. The staff are very friendly and helpful and make the whole experience great. The food is good, with great choice and some lovely seafood, which was the pick for us. There is food available all day, likewise a plentiful amount of drinks. The poolside bars focus on speed rather than quality, the cocktails aren’t great (much better at night in the main bar) so stick to wine and beer! The evening entertainment makes up for a lack of quality with enthusiasm and charm, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Men need long trousers to eat in one of the special restaurants (not for the main buffet restaurant), we tried the steakhouse restaurant, it was okay. The beach is a glorious stretch of sand, but the sea is rough and not great for swimming. The temperature was a steady 30 degrees C throughout with a constant and welcome breeze/wind. We didn’t leave the hotel, but there isn’t much to see and do, this is really just a desert island in the sea!

    The manager of the hôtel didn’t let me use the gym because i was under 18yrs old ! I was preparing for a big sport event and he not even wanted to help me to find a solution ! The best is that i have 4 bottles full of alchool in my room ! So apparently i can’t use the gym but i can drink as many i want !
