It's a very good monastry. I guess it's a monk school to be more precise. The place offers you a very peace and calm full aura. If u belong to their community then this place can be 2 hours visit for you but if I have not great inclinations for the religion then it would be just a 40-50 minutes visit at maximum since there are very less seats for sitting. At all times when the monastry is opened , the visitors are allowed to enter though for a limited time and are supposed not to speak much so that the monks dnnt get disturbed with their teachings and prayers. The infrastructure is surely very very fascinating and as well the main monastry inside has many idols which is very fascinating.

Great peace and blessings of Buddha. Phenomenal traditional Tibetan architecture with colourful murals and thousands of beautiful statues of various dieties and the magnificent statue of Buddha at the centre. If you visit during special days, you can witness hundreds of monks chanting hymns and playing huge drums and traditional pipes in unison making it an unforgettable experience.

The place is beautiful, however, it is advised not to go between 1 pm to 3.30 pm. They have huge litchi trees, it is peaceful. You are not allowed to click pictures inside the temple.

This looked like a true haven in the midst of busy. The monks we're kind enough to open the monestry earlier so we can go in and look. They did not speak well English, but they still tried to answer all the questions we had.

Peaceful and tranquil - I visited this place again after a gap of almost 10 years and it still has the same peace and calm that you would expect in a Buddhist Monastery. It'd be my permanent visit whenever I am in Dehradun.

Really calm and beautiful place which offers beautiful Buddhist Architecture, Calming Energy, and Educational Tour. A must visit place as it won't take much of your time compared to other places, and falls on Rajpura Road for easy access.

This Buddhist Monastery is on Rajpur Road, Krishnapur, Dehradun, India. Sakya monastery, also known as Pel Sakya, is based on Tibetan Buddhism. It is a great place where you can learn from qualified Tibetan lamas. This intricately decorated building is an exquisite example of a Tibetan Buddhist shrine. The Monastery is a community of monks with various levels of experience in the Buddhist tradition. The whole idea of taking your time to visit a monastery is to share and understand the culture and lifestyle of monks who primarily live in the Monastery. Promoting Buddhist teachings and spiritual practices is the primary goal of this Monastery. Sakya Centre Buddhist Monastery also provides various educational classes to make people, especially tourists like us, understand the teachings of Buddha. The building is Japanese-style architecture with a 360-degree view of the Dehradun valley. It holds the beautiful stupa, which is around 220 feet high. You can learn more about Tibetan culture by carrying a book or two from their in-house bookshop or a small souvenir to recall your visit.
