A really beautiful courtyard surrounded by old wooden houses right in the heart of the city. Withstood the Turku Fire and the demolition waves of different eras, maintaining a unified milieu. It's like stepping into a different world from the hustle and bustle of the city center. An 18th-century nobleman's home and a 19th-century pharmacy have been decorated in the museum. Understandably, you are not allowed to touch the objects, but it would be fun if, even for a fee, you could mix herbal medicines and herbal tea yourself according to old recipes, and the old tradition would become concrete.

There were no more live leeches, like when I last visited as a schoolboy. Otherwise, it was really interesting. A lot of different substances have been used to make medicines: herbs, roots, flowers, etc. The effect may have been a bit this way and that, but there has been nothing else. And neither do the poor. It's great that the buildings have been spared Turku's disease and that they are kept in good condition. Pipping's home was surprised by the few pieces of furniture. Apparently, there are clear paths for exhibition guests, otherwise it feels a bit strange.

A great small and charming museum in a prime location on the banks of the Aura River. It's worth a visit, lots of interesting history about medicines and plants and pharmacy goods from the 18th-19th century. Remember to buy the pharmacist's salmiakki with you.

Small and charming museum nearby and easy to find. You can also get in here on wheels, and inside the thresholds, there are ramps that are camouflaged in the floor. Only one room did not have a ramp at the entrance. As in other Turku museum stores, here too there was something familiar and something related to the theme of the museum for sale. The costumes of the museum workers are amazing! It's quiet here and I didn't encounter any other sensory disturbances except the perfume of another visitor and maybe some herbal notes in the space decorated as a shop. Wallpaper painted on linen is a breathtaking element.

An intimate and charming historical museum, which allows a glimpse into the life of a family of pharmacists who lived in simple and beautiful wooden buildings around a magical courtyard in the center of Turku, near the Aura River. The museum is very accessible to children, and includes, among other things, a simulated period pharmacy where they can play and charming sensory experiences. The workers on site in period clothing add to the atmosphere. In the place there is a charming cafe where delicate tables are set with period dishes, and there are excellent cakes (!!!) baked on the spot. Please note that you can enter the complex through the facade overlooking the river (directly to the museum) and through the magical courtyard from which there is also direct access to the coffee barrel.

Ihanaa vanhanajan tunnelmaa. Mielikuvituksen herättävä aihepiiri, mutta myös paljon tietoa entisajan lääkitsemisestä.

A good and extensive pharmacy museum. Lots of artefacts on display. The building is an attraction in itself. Several rooms with objects and a story about the history of the pharmacy. The guides were dressed elegantly in accordance with the spirit of the times.

Absolutely wonderful place and amazing delicacies. The atmosphere is delightful if you like old-time atmosphere and silence. The coffee is served in a hearty old fashioned style and the dishes are wonderful. That is, if you specifically like old-time customs 💛 The price level is higher than in chain cafes, but I personally like to pay a high price for which I get value for money. If you're thinking about visiting Turku for coffee, try it at least once!

There has never been a pharmacy in the building, but it has been a private home. A Pharmacy Museum has just been made here, where products from different pharmacies from the past have been collected. An interesting place to visit and herbs also featured strongly in medicine in the old days.

Kaunis, viihtyisä ja hyvin hoidettu museo. Sekä apteekin että talon puolella joulupöytänäyttelyssä bonuksena vielä ihania tuoksuja!

Very friendly museum staff, and a nicely constructed exhibition as a whole.

Nice experience. Something to do with Luostarinmaki if you want to discover the old times of Finland. I think they could improve the experience with more interactive screens like in the first room to get descriptions about the objects in the different rooms of the museum.

Absolutely delightful~ So in-depth, you can get lost in every room for eternity and that's even before you enter the museum side. The incredibly well-preserved pieces of history work well in conjunction with each other, making the experience well worth it. As someone who doesn't usually buy anything from gift shops, the items there are very in touch with the theme of the place, so an extra credit for that one as well for making me give in to temptation. The quality of items is greater in many places as well :)

Loved this place. The museum is fantastic, easy to navigate and very interesting. There is a map for adults and children to follow with fun little activities, which can also be used by adults ☺️

A small but interesting Pharmacy Museum in middle of Turku. Maybe small but interesting and nice cafe to relax in after

About as complete as a 17-18th century museum can get. It's a small museum so you won't spend a lot of time here. But the way the store and the owners house has been preserved is worth a visit. There are a bunch of herbs and spices you can see, but sadly due to covid-19 the smelling of herbs section was closed off. But I won't hold that against the museum since it's out of their control. Personnel was friendly.

I personally consider best place to go for a coffee and something sweet in whole city of Turku. Location is very cosy and traditional offering simple choices in terms of coffee choices, and plenty choices in terms of cakes.

Kind Staff who work in old clothes often show up whenever I take pictures or they put more candles to help me take pictures. For the Christmas period, the museum also recreated the food people ate during the Christmas season. By the way, I was so surprised to see Mannequin sitting on the piano in the girl's room.

Small well conserved museum. Held in an old wealthy family house. It has never been a pharmacy but it was fully recreated with donations from many pharmacies in Finland. They have even built a whole dispensary. There are discounts for students and lockers. The visit is shot and worth it.

It is a nice place that you can see the history of traditional pharmacies and meds preparation.
