Absolutely horrid. Window blacked out, plastic bathroom, stained bed cover, the entire room is in desperate need of a renovation. The other Omenahotelli in Turku is very pleasant, this one totally not!

Could've been better. We spent two nights in this hotel and experienced everything: starts from the noise after 2 AM, the cigarette butts in the hallway, the "lovely" view from the window of the neighbour's house, and all the way up to someone's gums and pee on the mattress... There's no proper ventilation in the building, it was not just hot, but hard to breath due to the lack of oxygen. I don't really want to write here about all-in-1 shampoo/soap/shower gel liquid placed in the bottle that you have to hold with one hand and squeeze badly to get at least something out of it, or about the cheapest Lipton tea bags, paper cups and lack of tools/plates that we experienced (even though the hotel is not the cheapest!!), or 1 towel per person (for the 3-start hotel minimum of 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel to be provided per guest), so I'll not write about this - it's just fluff. The real action starts here: on the first floor there was constantly present strong smell of cigarettes, here and there cigarette butts were easy to spot, our neighbours were youth who didn't bother themself be quite at least after midnight (honestly, not the best experience to be awakened in the middle of Saturday night from yelling in the highway right next to your door), right in front of our window there was apartment window (I was able to spot a topless guy in his 60 and almost established contact with the curious lady from the same apartment), and a cherry on the cake - unfortunately we decided to check our mattresses just before leaving, we found some old gum on one and some relatively fresh pee on another. Honestly, I don't care about the dust on the floor, and I even can forgive the missing towels and all-in-1 washing liquid and creepy old elevator for the amazing vending machine on the first floor, but the main requirement for me is a good bed, which includes clean sheets and mattress and this fail. Because it was late for the "clean" alarm we didn't call the hotel representative (actually, I believe there's only paid number to contact the stuff but whatever), but leaving this comment here and hoping that someone can be luckier and choose another place for staying.

It was my first self-service hotel experience and I am quite pleased. Quiet and clean hotel, with all necessities and house keeping. Location is great, easy to get from the airport and from the train station. There was no breakfast included, but there are plenty of places around the corner.

Compared to Omena, Helsinki this place is not to the same standard, however you get what you pay for, clean room, quiet and located conveniently. Not bad at all, recommend if you're on a budget but iy seemed located in a skanky part of town with lot's of poor looking people and lots of immigrant asylum seeker types and for that Reason I would personally never stay here again.

Beds are comfy. My room had water spots at the ceiling (at least I hope it was water). Door frames are missing paint, sink has spots of I don't know what and the overall impression is that renovation was due 10 years ago. Definitely not the best spot to stay in Turku, but still better than below a bridge.

Very bad. No staff. Not friendly for the family with kids. We can't store our luggage before the check-in time 4pm if we arrive early. Better opt somewhere else. My husband and I arrived at 8am and we couldn't leave our luggage at the hotel until the check-in time temporarily

Nice design and exterior outside under roof. Problem with breathing into a room. Peaceful and easy night close enough in bathroom as dog.. I had a feeling somebody was into my room, I heard things moving but i couldn’t see anyone. I made a phone call to police and emergancy to make a crime raport by a phone but they are corrupted and don’t care at all.

No frills but otherwise done quite well for what you pay. The SMS’d door-access code access works a treat. Oh, and free coffee in your room, that’s worth a star on its own! No ironing or air conditioning/temperature control (in some rooms?) the only draw backs, but in any case I’ll happily stay again.

You get what you pay for. Simple, but comfy rooms, and a very good location. Adjustable AC would be great as the windows can not be opened.

Omenahotelli at Humalistonkatu Turku. Based on ad, looked fairly modern and reasonably prised, about 100 euros per night. There is no reception, you get in with door code. Taxi almost didn’t find the place, but finally we got there. First thing we noticed, was a full beer can on the hallway floor. Some hotels do offer welcome drink, but I doubt this was the case here. When we got inside the room, first impression was like grandma had died, and relatives had tasked alcoholic 70-years old simple minded uncle to decorate it as cheaply as possible. Rom was fairly spacious, but for some weird reason they had built a some kind of wall in front of beds, so there really wasn’t much space to squeeze yourself into bed (luckily we’re not big, large person might not make it). Next to bed, on the floor, there were some papers and empty medicine box. I laughed aloud when I Saw the pillow – size of a stamp and lumpy as hell. There was supposed to be some kind of “kitchen corner” – it was a simple cabinet straight from seventies, with minibar (empty) and microwave oven. Next to it there was a table (from same time period) and chair (advertised as sofabed) that you couldn’t really sit on, but that you could theoretically use as a “sofachair”. I didn’t dare to try, and there wasn’t bedlinen anyway. Next to it, on the floor, there was a large stain – I wouldn’t dare to guess what. Whole room smelled unpleasant. Unfortunately, you couldn’t open windows. Bathroom was ok. Toilet paper was under the sink, bit difficult to reach, and there wasn’t any kind of shelf in it to hold soap. Peephole on a door had been stuffed with something orange. Luckily there was a door chain. It looked like that electrical wiring had been done by electrician who was fairly drunk. Room was filthy, dust everywhere and some sticky patches on floor and on the door etc. Bed wasn’t a catastrophe (except the pillow) – cheapest you can find at Ikea I guess. My son was bit worried, if we would dare to stay there, but since it was 2 am we really didn’t have a choice. I woke up around 7AM, heard someone talking at the next room. There is no soundproofing, you can hear clearly what neighbours are talking.

It is an OK place to stay in a very convenient location. It really is not bad, but it is a true budget hotel. We had a problem with the toilet running nonsotp and loudly in our room and it took a whole day to get someone there and ended up changing rooms, but that also took a day. It was even hard to get someone to answer the customer service line that is supposed to have someone on the other end 24/7. I'd stay there again, if the price was right, and I did appreciate some of the room amenities such as a fridge, coffee, and hot water kettle.

Cannot recommend based on my own experience: sticky stains on the table, cupboard very dusty, previous inhabitant's drink in a glass under my bed, hall floor full of stains, edge strip of the wall panels on the floor in the hall, wrong info about breakfast café's opening times on the wall in our room. Don't need customer service to respond to this, I already left the same feedback with the omena hotel's own feedback service.
