I have come to red lentil several times. I am so glad I discovered this place because not only is it walking distance to where I live, but it is delicious. It is in a convenient location for locals to run errands. Aside from this, I have not had a thing on their menu yet that I didn’t not like. Trust me, you will never go wrong with these nachos! I always get them no matter what! The Gobi Manchurian is also one of my favorites. I recommend both of these, especially if you come in a large group. Enjoy the attached photos! I always order more then I can handle, and that’s a lot because I used to do eating competitions. They have a large selection of vegan options as well. What is sad is that I have never had any of their desserts because the dishes are so good and I order too much of it for me to have enough room for desserts. Their prices are very reasonable and their portion sizes are pretty large for the type of restaurant this is. The customer service is awesome, they have always kept my water glass full to the top! Another plus is that the food comes out in reasonable time once it’s ordered, so thank you chef! This place normally has a wait time, but the service is normally fast so people come and go quickly. It is a small cozy place and seating is limited. The establishment is very clean and eco-friendly. Parking is also very limited as well, so please bring quarters with you if you plan on staying around these blocks. By how busy this place normally is, I’m surprised there isn’t more reviews! Vegans, vegetarians, and all, I hope you have the same great experience I have had each time I have visited. Enjoy!!!

WOW! Love this place! I’m a strict veg and always looking for vegetarian places that are tasty but also high end. Highly recommend the gobi manchurian as an appetizer. I had the shepards pie and my partner had the mouuzka pizza. he is a carnivore and also gave red lentil 5 stars! they had a delicious carrot cake for dessert and a fabulous selection of wine. will def be returning!

A small and plain restaurant in the street. However, the food was really good. We went there about 8:30pm for a late dinner. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered Mexican pizza, nutty lasagna, nirvana delight, fried oysters mushrooms, shepherd’s pie, masher and danger, and smoothies like immunize, banana wanna date?, mind blowing, and berried blaster. All smoothies were really good, highly recommended. The fried oysters mushrooms are very crispy and rich flavored. Highly recommended. To be honest, I am a meat lover. So, all entrees were OK to me, but not impressive.

My God! My God! My food was delicious, the rib tips blew my mind! The curry chicken, the collard greens, yams and the sweet potato pie were all great. You have a new found weekly customer! There was a line when we arrived but it moved swiftly, service was professional and respectful. I can't wait to try the crab cake tomorrow. It's awesome to be able to eat out again. Thank you!

First time at a Vegan and Vegetarian restaurant and I have to say it was a pleasant surprise! Will definitely be coming back! EDIT: We came back a week later. Might be on our top 5 favorite list! Hard to believe you can get such good tasting food without animal products.

Phenomenal! Very creative vegan meals that are actually good, like really good, really tasty, really filling. Can I have a red lentil cook book please? The service was very nice and pretty quick, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. If you like vegan and vegetarian food, this place is top notch, and not terribly expensive. Keep in mind that if you're going at peak times, it can get busy there. Overall, I had a great experience... Full 5 star recommendation!

I cant believe this restaurant is still open and called themselves a healthy vegetarian vegan gluten free restaurant. Lies! Don't even come to this restaurant to dine in and don't cater with them. You will be very disappointed and waste your money big time. First of all their food is disgusting and flavorless all items are unappealing they all look like vomit, are overpriced and tasteless. The place is so small, so uncomfortable and unbreathable. It's so noisy and loud. People dining in, the waiter will put the rest of their food in a go to bag and none of the guests will take their food to go. The bags are all left behind on the tables. It is proof that their food is awful. The kitchen is so small, messy, dirty and unsanitary they have 10 people all squeezed sweating in there so gross. The owner is an Indu man named Pankaj Pradhan, he is so rude, full of ego, arrogant and disrespectful. He claimed that he used to be an IT and switch to becoming a chef he should of stayed in IT cause he has zero cooking skills. He is also very corrupted and take advantage of some of his employees. This establishment is modern day slavery. Don't participate in it don't buy their awful food. If you want to eat delicious vegetarian vegan food find somewhere else fast run! You have been warned!

Stopped by for the first time on a Sunday at 2PM. Realized that they have a brunch menu only on Sundays. Nevertheless, I was able to try the gobi Manchurian and red lentil soup. Food: gobi manchurian 6/10. Taste was OK. Food was barely warm. Soup 5/10. Service: lacking. I understand the place is busy but it took quite long for someone to take our order, we were also not asked to move tables but rather given an order to move so another group could be accommodated, our food was cold because the waitress did not serve the dishes promptly she also did not bother to say anything after picking up the check that was right in front of me. Lastly, the cutlery, please replace and/or clean I could not tell exactly but the cutlery I got is in very bad shape. Overall, meh🫤

Perfect place for food lovers with vegetarian/ vegan/ gluten sensitive friends. I am a meat lover and this is by far the best vegetarian/ vegan restaurant. I loved their kale chips (I love kale too), carrot cake, and my mushroom special was perfect. Leftovers heated up nicely too. Easy to find parking on street. Wait staff were so helpful.

The vegan waffles are 10/10, so creamy, soft and delicious. Incredible that they’re also gluten free. We came here for brunch after having ordered takeout for many years and we were not disappointed. It’s a small, unassuming location. Very low key. Delicious everything. Such a creative menu

The food was excellent here. When going out for a bite, I typically choose a place that has meat on the menu. With this being a vegetarian/Vegan restaurant, I was very surprised with the good food quality and prices of the meals. The Grande Nachos were awesome and full of flavor. We Also enjoyed the Mexican pizza. I enjoy white sauce pizzas more frequently than red sauce. This was a quality meal with spinach, mozzarella, corn, avocado, and the crust tasted like they made the dough there. Very satisfied with the food and how quick the service was. As for the atmosphere, the place was well decorated and had a decent amount of room for comfortable seating considering the amount of room in the restaurant. It was very cold in the restaurant for 40 minutes till We ended up asking for them to turn the heat on. Warmed right up. For a Saturday night the wait was not very long. About 30 minutes after we arrived around 6pm. There is no call ahead seating.

Good vegan fusion food. American favorites with Indian twist. Started with Gobi Manchurian which was flavorful and tender. For main course, noodle dish was standard, burger was very different and a must try. Jackfruit Tacos were served garnished with bhujia that gave it the Indian twist. Although that did not help much with the flavor. I felt it lacked some spice/salt. Quesedilla was good. Overall, an innovative menu with innovatively served dishes.

We were lucky seated at the only available table on a Sunday afternoon. We weren't aware they only do brunch on Sundays, nonetheless the food was good. We had the gobi Manchurian which was cold as it was sitting at the kitchen for a while. The shakshula(shakshuka) was good and the lentil soup was good and served at the right temperature. The service was a 2/5 as the waiters took too long to take orders, bring food that was ready. The place was fully packed and the kitchen is doing a great job in keeping up with the rush. Would try again on a weekday for their regular menu

We went here for lunch and everyone including non-vegans loved the food. As a vegan, I definitely definitely loved it. It’s the best vegan food I ever had. It’s limited menu but all the items on the menu were super delicious. Drinks were great!!!! Service was fantastic 😊

Vegan food! Super variety and interesting flavors. I went on a week night a group of 4, one vegan and one vegitarian. We made a 5:30 reservation the day before which is the time they open. We did family style to try different dishes, and they were great about bringing us small plates and serving spoons for sharing all the dishes. They do have an option to pick one appetizer, one entry, one dessert for a fixed price. We tried 4 appetizers, 3 entries and 2 desserts. It was a lot of food. Many wonderful combinations of flavors (lots of spices, fruit flavors, nuts, exotic). We held on to the menu so as food came we could figure out if we tasted each flavor. Really good; even us meat eaters enjoyed. Restaurant is large (good for groups) and has a back outdoor patio.

OMG, this food so good. I'm not vegan and I wanted to try something new. I heard good reviews and decided to try them out. I was pleasantly surprised that all the food was really good and didn't taste weird. I ordered the mac and cheese (creamy and flavorful ), greens, Curry Chickun( which taste like chicken but isn't 🤯), kale salad( just ok) and corn bread ( which is more like spice cake) and lemonade (really good). The food was fantastic 😋. I will be ordering again.

First of all all the food is vegan, all of it! I pulled up to receive my order which I ordered through DoorDash but instead of paying for a DoorDash driver I decided to drive there myself and tip the staff. After receiving my order which was a very pleasant experience I realize that my car battery had died in front of the Restaurant and sat there for about 10 minutes figuring out a way to get my car jumped. About five minutes after I ran out of options I decided I would go into the restaurant and ask them if they would help and they most certainly did. The care they have for the food was shown in the way that they care for the customer. Everything I had was delicious and I ended up eating most of it, in the car before I even left. Much love to you guys and best of luck to this gem. My non vegan daughter ate the bbq ribs and was dumbfounded that it wasn’t real meat.

My pre-ordered catering experience was terrible. The food was not ready on time even though it was ordered weeks in advance. Nor was it even packaged for my long commute. The top on the Shepard's pie was loose and would not stay on. They did not even offer me a box to put the catering items in. Worst catering experience ever.

This was an excellent place to enjoy delicious vegan food. We has lunch and started with the fried oyster mushrooms and they were expertly cut and cooked; we really loved them. I got the Zen Veggie Burger which was a really fun homemade spin on a patty! It was a weird color which I liked and it came with a nice side salad. The Street Food Roll Up (with falafel) was smothered in a delicious sauce and so really tasty. The thick cut sweet potato fries on the side were great! The Black Forest Cake was traditional and a nice end to our great meal. I can't wait to eat here again!!

The food was just okay. I tried the lentil soup. The soup was mainly juice. There was VERY and I mean VERY little vegetables and lentil beans in the soup. I also tried the Zen burger (I added lettuce and tomatoes) with sweet potatoe fries. The burger had a salty taste - (I think it was the sauce) and the sweet potatoes fries were oily and some were not cooked all the way through. The lady that took my order was nice and the restaurant sitting area was clean.

Food was great, I have to say but my only issue is how awfully short staffed they were. We literally got there at 6 and didn't really get our food until a little after 7. May go again, I think they should expand, it's super crowded.

I came in Thursday night (dinner time). There were a lot of empty tables. I ordered red lentils soup and Jamaican jerk Tempeh. They both were very tasty and flavorful. The lentils soup reminded me of my trip in India (highly recommended). The tempeh was flavorful, but it's side dish Brussels Sprouts we're burned and the yam is overcooked.

Gobi manchurian was out of this world! Musakka pizza was okay - eggplant was overpowered by feta. Jamaican jerk tempeh had a lot of food and flavor but the flavors were not for me. The menu is so unique. Check this place if you like to explore! Vegan and vegetarian friendly!

Overall it was good but not phenomenal. There were some dishes that I would come back for (Gobi Manchurian and Sesame-Encrusted Seitan Strips) and there were some that I wouldn’t bother getting again (Oyster Mushroom Calamari and Jamaican Jerk Tempeh).

The seitan side dish was excellent. If I lived near by I would be getting a take out of this weekly to add to my food at home. Our seitan order did sit for a long time under the heat lamp. The other food was also tasty. It was great to be in a vegetarian restaurant any worry about cross contamination. I also hate cilantro. The waitress said the guacamole had no cilantro but then brought it out and said there was cilantro in it but it usually doesn’t. I’m into consistent food in a restaurant. The place to mix things up are in the specials. The regular menu items should be consistent. The mole sauce she said she put on the side because it did end up having cilantro after she had told me it didn’t. She was nice enough but I think a waitperson should know their product better. It was a 3 plus but I rounded up because it’s a vegetarian restaurant!!! Oh, and the seitan was perfect! I’ll be back.

If you are a vegetarian (or you just like to eat healthy), this is absolutely the place for you. It's so nice to have a full menu of choices. The entrees are delicious and they always have specials available as well. Dishes make use of tofu, tempeh and seitan. The presentation is beautiful and the flavors are amazing. They have an excellent selection of smoothies and juices as well. There aren't many tables and it can get busy so be sure to plan ahead.

Incredibly rude customer service. I came to pick up an order and the woman answered everyone else but me, she did not once make eye contact and i had to wave to get her attention even though i was a couple of feet in front of her. She then told me I needed to wait and be patient even though I never expressed any kind of impatience, I hardly even got to speak at all. Food isn’t even good. Don’t go here!

  • 5/5 Megan J. 3 years ago on Google
I got take out from here recently and it was soo good! I only wanted something small so I ordered the gobi manchurian and it was very filing and tasty. It had a lot of good flavors that I haven’t really had before in cauliflower! Will def be back!

The experience here is very inconsistent. Depends on who is working. You will be charged differently and your food will be prepared differently when the female employee is managing that day. It's just strange. When she isn't working, the order is usually correct, things are charged differently, and suddenly things are a little more flexible.

Love their eclectic menu and vegetarian/vegan offerings. I always go there when I am in that area. Their nachos, gobi manchurian, beet uttapam, pizza, vegan cakes are all yummy. The waitresses can be more friendly and knowledgeable. They give simple answers which are had to believe. When I ask which foods are organic, they reply back that everything is. Once I asked which of their desserts were made today and they said 'all are made today'. They do quick fry in olive oil. While olive oil is healthy if drizzled on top of cooked foods, its carcinogenic when food are cooked in it. They used #6 to-go boxes which are not recycled in most MA cities. I hate to take to-go boxes from here for that reason as they put hot food in bad plastic. I think they have started to change them to eco-friendly options but not consistently.

Great food, but plagued by terrible service. Our server didn't check on us once, which was a problem because they forgot our drink order. Our server could not speak English well, and the water/bus girl informed us she spoke no English at all and therefore couldn't help us with the drinks. We ended up not getting drinks at all because of this. ☹️ Plus, they appeared to serve Sir Kensington's Ketchup (the best kind) from their sign, but we were disappointed when we were served inferior quality ketchup. ☹️

This is an inspiring local restaurant. The setting is casual but flavors are awesome. It is usually very crowded in the weekends. The food is delicious and portions are satisfying. It serves vegetarian and vegan dishes but food is so good that it caters well to meat eaters, too. The sauces are on point. The wait for the food can be on the long side so be prepared, it is not a fast food joint.

Very tasty food, though the staff could be a bit better trained on the offerings (for instance, we asked one server for a tea menu, were told there wasn't one, then asked another server, who brought the tea menu)

Flavorful food. We had the eggplant caponata for a starter. It was delicious but could have served well 4 people. The soup of the day was spicy on point (very similar to a Ribollita). My wife had the Greek pizza, well topped. I had the street food roll. It was interesting to have falafel dough through the wrap instead of the traditional balls. Clever. A word of caution: the portions are big. Two adults can go by with an entree and sharing one main.

If there is such a thing as world class vegan cuisine, this is it. Every dish we had, from starter to main to dessert, was superb. The combination of flavors and ingredients makes it hard to believe that the food is completely plant-based. Creative, imaginative and perfectly prepared. Also a chic but casual atmosphere and excellent service as you would expect. Be sure to get the dessert trio as a fine sampler of tastes to end your dining experience. Terrific all the way around!

  • 5/5 Juliana S. 3 years ago on Google
I thought the food here was spectacular! We ordered takeout so I can't comment on the service but WOW. Every dish was delicious, and it was such a treat to have a menu full of options that I can eat. They work really hard to make as many gluten free options as well, which I appreciated. We tried the mac and cheese (very good, though not as unique and mind blowing as the other dishes), the beet poke (so fresh and delicious!), the curry (good, though similar to many other curries I've had) and my favorite was the "breaded" mushroom appetizer. It was simultaneous super savory and crispy, but gluten-free and didn't leave me feeling awful from all the grease that usually comes with wings.

One of the best date night vegan / vegetarian restaurant in Oakland area. This is type of restaurant in which you don’t know what you are eating but it always tastes fresh and yummy. Even their free freshly baked bread and spread tasted really delicious. Date with pistachio as appetizer was yummy. Risotto cake and tamales as main entree was great and enough serving size. We will definitely go again.

Great vegan food with many flavorful choices. The ambiance is cozy and romantic so perfect for couples or small groups. Bar seating is also available. The dishes all have amazing flavor and are unique. Friendly staff. Food is very pricey but this is expected given the area.

This is a somewhat upscale vegan restaurant with seasonal menus, cocktails, wine, and desserts. I've been here for three or four menu changes, and I've never been disappointed. They make beautiful dishes with inspired ingredients. They also offer a three course meal option for around $38, and a sample dinner option which requires the entire table to participate. Dishes run around $20 a plate, and for such fine dining, this feels like a steal.

As a longtime customer of this restaurant (3? 4? locations?) since 1994, I've definitely had my memorable "this could be my last meal on earth" meals as well as several misses, but overall, the combination of ingredient quality, inventiveness/creativity, and price point make this a 5. They have items so popular they can probably never safely remove them from the menu, and they have a core rotation of bases they work from (tempeh, tofu, tamales) that they build incredible, layered meals around with sauces and sides and all-around total goodness. I don't think we will ever tire of coming here. Even if we got the same "base" dish each time, no two would be alike due to their flair for making the most of the season.

Glad we made reservations. It's needed. The food is well prepared and presented. Service is well above average. The noise level is acceptable for conversation. There were 5 of use each had a different dish and shared. There was not a bad one in the bunch. So instead of reviewing each one just let it be said you can't go wrong. If you get a chance.......go.

Food was delicious all around. Fingerling potatoes were great with probably the best homemade ketchup I've ever had. Cajun Tempeh was nothing short of amazing. Cocktails and dessert were good too. Would have given 5 stars, but our waiter kept disappearing for very long stretches. For example, we finished our appetizer, and he still hadn't come back to take our entree order. Maybe they were short staffed that night

They moved to Oakland from San Francisco and definitely have managed to keep the vibe and the tasty food going. They have a really nice outdoor patio in the back and I would recommend this place for a date night. We ordered the Tempeh and the Biryani cake and both were incredibly delicious. Service seemed a tad bit slow at times, but the overall atmosphere is fairly relaxed, so not a big complaint. Definitely recommend checking it out if you like good quality, well tasting vegan food

Literally one of the best meals I've ever had, if not THE best. There is some serious vegan magic going on in the kitchen and the front of the house doesn't miss a beat either. The ambiance, at least on this Saturday night, was hot, packed, and a bit on the trendy side. Had a definate Berkeley vibe with extremely kind and friendly and COMPETENT staff. Was a total joy worth a couple hours to savior. Do yourself a favor and don't be in a rush. Really looking forward to another visit.

great little vegan place on college avenue. I love the service, exactly what I wanted since I needed a place to camp out while waiting for my ride to another city. I have the tofu sandwich, which was a party in my mouth, to say the very least. So many flavors. I can still taste it when I burp, which is a good thing. I would stay away from the turmeric soda. Just because you have a SodaStream doesn't mean you put anything you want in it. I'm sure the best of intentions were there.

We came on a Thursday night at 8 to a very lively and very loud scene. The squash tempura, olive and brussel sprouts appetizers were all delicious as was the French Onion soup which we split. My omnivore partner really enjoyed his Juniper and black pepper glazed tempeh. All the sides that were added to the main dishes were generous and so good! My Pumpkin Tamal I found a bit bland. The kombucha was very good. Service was great. We specified that we were there for our anniversary on our reservation so I do wish they would have given us a slightly quieter spot.

I went online looking for a vegetarian dish. Found this place, so the people at the location were very nice. The menu did not have much options, and the food i order seem like it was cooked much earlier in the day. I ordered crab cakes, sweet mash potatoes, and colored greens. Crab cake was bitter and burned, mash potatoes was too sweet, considered that it was a vegetarian place. Would i try again.....👎 Consider that Maryland is known for crabs.

  • 5/5 Ernie R. 3 years ago on Google
Very, very good. The problem with many vegan restaurants are the small portion sizes. Not a problem at Land of Kush!!! Our family enjoyed a very filling and delicious meal at very reasonable prices. We'll definitely return.

I heard Such great things about this place, my first experience with them wasn't good. I didn't like the food at all. Now that I know I HAVE to purchase a MINIMUM of $15 just to eat anything there... there shouldn't be a min and i cant even eat all that food. I really wanted to try this place. I heard so many great things about it. I ordered through Doordash. Once the dasher arrived at the restaurant (30 minutes later), they notified the dasher that they were out of essentially everything I ordered. Instead of calling me and notifying me that they were out, they waited until the driver arrived and told him. It’s really inconsiderate to have someone wait 30 minutes just for you to tell them you don’t have it. If I had went to pick up instead, I would have been even more upset. Smh

Ion care what nobody say that’s the best crab cake I ever had in my 19 years dawg. I come from Delaware to go to church in Baltimore and we started doing a vegan challenge and this place seemed cool. I knew it was gon be🔥just by the pics. I had the crab cakes with mac&cheese and jollof rice and the red velvet cake. This place is dope!💯and it’s blk owned🤙🏾 I forgot to add that the people in there was all nice and helpful. And even tho they don’t take over-the-phone orders....they prioritize answering the phone and making sure every customer is greeted. Y’all got a new regular!

We ordered online and when we arrived we were told the sides we wanted weren’t available. No big deal, even though this happens often. They told us what they had left and we picked our new sides. They still gave us the wrong sides even though they added them to our to-go containers as we were telling them what we wanted. Very disappointed.

I encountered "the gout" in my foot last week- too much uric acid in my body by "eating certain foods". Guilty ! 😞 The gout was extremely painful, so I immediately sought medical help. I received medication and made plans to follow a healthier diet. I didn't have any cooked food at home 😳...nor did I intend to stand on feet and cook. My primary thought was to select a restaurant that served healthy food. 😌 The Land of Kush came to mind, so I limped in the establishment and ordered some vegetables. All I wanted was some food that would not cause me more pain. 😏 Believe it or not, I have gone to the Land of Kush twice this week to purchase the "Vegetable Plate"....Yummy ! 👍 I love the candied yams, greens, mac and cheese, and I also get a side order of cabbage. 😎 The food is delicious, tasty and healthy ! ✌The staff is friendly and cordial !

Let’s start by saying when I first had them Last year they were great but now they must be under new management or have new chefs. My ribs were wayyy too oily. After I ate it made me feel like I had 5 guys or something. The oil also spilled into my greens and my Mac, not fun. This was also the third time they forgot to put one of my orders in the bag. Check your bag before you leave!! I had to drive 45 minutes back to pick up my order that they forgot to put in the bag. You had one job. The food is cooked just put it in the container then in the bag 3 times they did it I should’ve learned the first time but anyway the drive wasn’t worth it. Also the crab cake tasted just like mustard. Spinach has way too much sesame oil on it. What a waste of money

This place is so good. One of my favorite restaurants in Boston. Have brought full on meat-lovers here and they have raved about the food. The best dish is the lasagna, IMO. Me along with my sisters, are visiting Boston for this weekend and found this restaurant on Google. We just loved this restaurant. The food is good and okay but my 5 star is for the service and the manager. One of my sister dint like the juice she had ordered. So the manager observed her reactions and replaced with a famous tropical drink on house. And the other sister, wanted noodle bowl but they said it’s not available . And we went on and ordered salad bowl and Gobi manchurian. They said Gobi Manchurian is on house since the noodle bowl is not available.I have never heard of this anywhere neither experience. You’re the best guys. Please keep on. Your kindness is your strength . The food was very good too

Service was excellent, although we went during the dinner rush hour, so that made our experience drawn out because they had non-stop take-out business. But we were not in a hurry. I had the "Banana Wanna Date?" smoothie and the vegan shepherd pie, with a vegan mousse that had avocado in it for dessert. My daughter had the Tropical Blend smoothie & the kids cheese pizza (non-vegan), with vegan vanilla ice cream for dessert. My friend ordered the Tropical Blend smoothie, the vegan shepherd's pie, and the vegan grasshopper ice cream for dessert. We all loved every bite. Huge portions as well--I took home another meal's worth of food for my daughter as well as myself. Definitely going back.

My wife is Vegetarian which as a meat eater brings me to places I don’t always expect to like. Red Lentil is hands downs one of the most delicious restaurants I’ve tried in Boston and it’s all Veggie. Every single dish is full of flavor, spices, and tastes incredible. • 5/5 Uma N. 3 years ago on Google
The food is delicious, and the portion size is appropriate for one person-we were two people who ordered an entrée each. The food is not authentic to the culture it originates from; it is an exciting mix of various cuisine types -this isn't a restaurant for the purists. For example, we ordered pulled jackfruit tacos, and the tacos had Indian savories (Alu bhujia) as a topping. The filling also did not taste like Fajitas or any other vegetarian Mexican food I've tasted. Despite its inability to commit identity, it tasted delicious with the right amount of seasoning and fresh ingredients. I dined in at this place during the COVID 19 pandemic's phase 2 of opening, and I felt suitably safe. The restaurant's measures were that it has a separate designated area for individuals arriving for pickup distanced from the dining in customers, the table we were seated was 6ft away from others; the server always wore a mask, the menu was accessible virtually via a QR code, and the restaurant provided the guests with hand sanitizers. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to you if you are not a stickler for the authenticity of the cuisine and prefer/enjoy good vegan food.

I want to start by saying I like the food. That being said the service is always poor. I felt the need to write this review after my latest experience with their holiday meal takeout offer. I placed my order for two meals. It was a set holiday menu so all orders are the same just vary by amount. I payed over the phone a week ahead and told them I could pick up 2:30-3pm. I arrived Christmas Eve day at 2:30 and waited in line for nearly an hour to pick up my food. There was one person checking people out and they were packing orders as people got to the front of the line. I’m hoping the restaurant reads this and adjusts their practices so in the future they will have meals pre-packed and ready to go. Just add reheating instructions.

The waitress here in the restaurant is very unfriendly and is not even polite and is very rude and awful. This is our second time here and we have had the same experience before. Today I felt like I shouldn’t come back here anymore. To the owner, please change your waitress or give her some training as to how to interact with people who come to restaurants. She really has some bad attitude and treats as if she is doing a favor by serving food for free.

Amazing restaurant with so many choices. The nachos were incredible, as was the mushroom calamari. Everything is or can easily be made vegan. Definitely check this place out!

The vegan food here is usually solid and I like their creative use of vegan ingredients to make unique dishes. They also have a good beer selection. One caveat I would give to newcomers is if you order a couple of appetizers/starters and more than one main, make sure you stagger your orders. If you order everything at once, they will bring out everything at once. There's no sense of pacing in the kitchen. The tables are small and the portions can be large, so having 4 or more dishes on the table at once can be overwhelming. Also, I've had the misfortune of sitting at the table where there are low-hanging lamps dangling from the ceiling. These should be removed or placed higher, as anyone north of 5' 8" is almost guaranteed to whack their head on them. I feel Red Lentil is a place where I can trust the food will be good, but I'm never "excited" to go there. I know they have a strong takeout business, so perhaps getting some of the little things right for guests dining there in terms of service and comfort might not be a priority.

Usually don't give 5 stars to places that aren't fully vegan, but the Lasagna here was so phenomenal I had to break my rule. My date got the Shephard's pie which I tried and was also really impressive. Friendly service. Would certainly be amazing to see them go fully vegan someday!

Pretty good, I enjoyed it! But for the price I was expecting more flavor- I had high expectations!

Unique innovative Indian and misc inspired vegan cuisine. Nice blend of flavors n variety. The only concern is the rate is too high for their serving size. We spent about $45-50 for a party of 3 and none of us were full. A little more of quantity in the plate size n the place would thrive. 👌🏻

Excellent food! The oyster mushroom "calamari" were soooooo good! Better than calamari in my opinion, though I'm a fan of mushrooms in general. We ate it so fast we forgot to take a picture of it. Will definitely come back for more!

What a place we discovered for having a great vegetarian dinner! We had a 15-minute wait to be seated, the wait was totally worth it. It is a small cozy restaurant. The variety of items on the menu is mind blowing for a vegan menu. We wanted to order so many of them. However, whatever we ordered were delicious! Just to eat more from the menu, we will come back here!

Tasty food. Nice food choices. They only have vegetarian and vegan, that’s one main reason for going here. Don’t have to worry about chefs mixing up knives, pots, pans, utensils (as in a regular restaurant where meat is also served).

The full dine-in experience is rare nowadays. Sit down, order drinks and food. Drinks come. Appetizer comes mid-drinks. As soon as appetizer is done, dinner arrives. Cheque comes after, and is returned promptly. Wonderful experience and stellar food. Will be back.

Found this GEM today. Lunch was so good and really reasonably priced! I got a full bowl of tomato bisque and the veggie Rueben sandwich, and the volcano shot. Spent under $20 and ate like a king! I highly recommend. I'm extra happy because I work a few miles away and finally have a new lunch spot!

We loved our experience at Red Lentil! We were actually headed to Salem and accidentally picked this place for vegan thinking it was closer to to our destination… but we definitely consider it a happy accident to have found such a delicious vegan brunch. Also the Cava and Prosecco were yum and possibly I am feeling ‘em now. 😛

Vegan Shepherds Pie? Don't mind if I do. The flavor was epic and a wonderful mixture of fresh ingredients. Absolutely loved it and would definitely eat this again.

I had high hopes for this place after reading the reviews and perusing the menu on their website. We ordered some ciders and the waitress came back and told us that they didn’t have the one we ordered. I then ordered a different cider, which they had but it wasn’t cold. So I finally asked which ones they DID have that were cold and it was only a few of them. The food had large portions, but was disappointing taste-wise. I got the Jamaican jerk tempeh which came with yams, coleslaw and brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were cold, the coleslaw was bland and the tempeh was underwhelming. The one good dish was the oyster mushroom “calamari”, which was delicious. The paella was okay but again, underwhelming.

My favorite vegan/vegetarian restaurant for lunch in the Watertown/Cambridge area — an unassuming storefront on Mt Auburn Street with a wonderful menu and good service. The offerings are all reasonably priced and the servings are generous. The Zen Veggie Burger with sweet potato fries is particularly good. Try some of the sides or starters if you just want a snack — the Brussel sprouts and Gobi Manchurian (wow).

WOW! I must say I was blown away with first checking out the website and admiring the amazing creations.... After our dining experience, my husband and I were even more blown away! What amazing and delicious food and beautifully presented as well!! You must go even if your diet is not vegan or vegetarian! Highly recommend... wish it was closer to home, but definitely worth the trip!!
