Hands down, this is my favorite restaurant on the planet. As a person with multiple food allergies, the main one being dairy, Great Sage is a safe haven. My family and friends have joined me at Great Sage for so many meals over the years, and my husband and I have celebrated birthdays and anniversaries there, as well. The staff and management have always been kind, funny, patient, and incredibly accommodating. Their coffee is stellar, the Spinach Artichoke Dip is out of this world, the Ultimate Nachos are my personal favorite, their soups are my second favorite, the mac and cheese is second to none, and their desserts are spectacular. If you are not afraid to have a mouthful of flavor while eating healthy, vegan food, you need to visit the Sage. Don't forget a Chai milkshake while you are there. You will not regret it!

Solid vegan spot for sure. My salad was great, it was fresh and I loved the jalapenos. The cinnamon I had was also very good. It was even really good when reheated. Our service was great, very friendly staff. If interested there is merchandise that you can purchase.

Great Sage for a Good Meal. Overall the experience was good. The restaurant is clean, the food was tasty, and the staff was friendly (although our server kept playing with their nose ring which was a appetite spoiler). The Sage's Famous Artichoke Spinach Dip was very good. The Harvest Wrap was tasty, and the Reuben was decent, but is not as tasty as its traditional, non-vegan counterpart. For desert we had the carrot cake, which was tasty but dry. The winner, was by far, the Coconut Mousse desert; it was “out-of-this-world” great! Cheers!

I’ll start by stating that I have eaten here and gotten carry out several times, all with great food and a good experience. I live about an hour away, so if I find myself in the area, I try to visit. I had a terrible experience yesterday and I will not return. I called several times to place a carry out order and only got a recorded message. Nbd, I wasn’t far, so I drove there. When I arrived at Great Sage, I was not greeted or acknowledged in any way. When I finally got the bartender’s (?) attention and asked if I could place an order, she literally HUFFED. An audible inhale and sharp exhale for being asked a question. While taking my order, she answered the phone and proceeded to take a reservation for a birthday party, even happily telling the person happy birthday! I paid for my order while she was still attending to the phone call. Then I just stood there because idk, maybe tell me thank you and about how long my order will take? When I returned, I waited again, with zero acknowledgment. I heard someone say my order was ready. I patiently waited while she helped a customer who came in after me. She finally hands me my order and i leave. I checked the bag when I got to the car and was missing something. I went back inside and had to wait again. Now, I don’t mind waiting my turn, but by now. it started to feel intentional. She says “Yes, Teresa…?” like I’m bothering her at this point. I asked if she had rung me up for a rice krispy treat because it wasn’t in the bag. She said yes, i thought you took it already. Now, why would I assume that I can just take things off the counter instead of it being included with my order? I ordered the pierogi quesadilla, which was very good. The lava cake was, I assume, microwaved within an inch of death and very dry. It was missing the whip and essentially inedible. The kid’s grilled cheese was weird. Not sure if the cheese was just tossed on the grill or what, but I’ve used this exact cheese and had much better results. The kid was not a fan. All this to say I did not feel like a valued or appreciated as a customer. I spent over $50 to be treated poorly and given mediocre food. I hope this was an off day, but I won’t be returning to find out. Side note: There is a mandatory 15% tip on carry out orders. While it is stated on the menu, there’s no mention on the receipt you’re given. The receipt you sign is not itemized and has a line for a tip. I have to wonder how many people unknowingly leave an additional 15-20% tip, thinking this is the only tip they’re leaving. Four stars on atmosphere because there is a nice waterfall to listen to while being ignored.

Vegan??? You would’ve never guessed it! The beet burger is outta this world! The Mac and cheese...a stand out. Fresh smoothies?? They got them! The green machine smoothie is delicious! Have to admit the nachos are one of the best I’ve had. The presentation on the food is outstanding. The sin tres leches cake was great! Although only one of our group members is vegan, we all were greatly satisfied with our plant based meals. We will surely be back to this wonderful establishment.

A must visit when in the DC, MD or VA area. Very flavorful and a mix of homestyle and inventive dishes. Very accommodating for those who avoid certain ingredients such as wheat. Great, kind and enthusiastic staff who ensured we felt welcome. Lots of dessert options as well. Definitely recommend heading to Great Sage.

Y'all... I've found my health conscious guilty pleasure. The burger was amazingly delicious and tasted better than anything I could make at home lol. The Mac and cheese was phenomenal as well.. I thought I was eating real cheese and real beef today! I also had the matcha cbd latte. And make sure you ask for Chris as your waiter.. he was great! I will definitely be coming back! Next time I will try the Reuben.

Went here for the first time today and the food was excellent! Everything was delicious. The crab cake was SO SO good! The carrot cake was dense and moist and perfect, even though it was gluten free - which is impressive! Oh, and the staff was super friendly and fun. Can't wait to go back!

Food: I am practically a carnivore. Yet, a vegan carrot cake managed to captivate me. I was surprised by how such a rich alternative to the classic dessert could be created without the use of eggs or dairy. The flavor loses nothing in this vegan adaptation. So far, I have only tried the carrot cake (bought it for a vegan friend’s birthday), but I will surely return for more. Service: I only picked up the cake, so I did not have much exposure to the staff, but when I discussed options on the phone, the woman assisting me was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Verdict: A vegan restaurant that anyone can enjoy...even the carnivores.

Excellent food presentation and delicious! It's too bad the NOISE level is DEAFENING in this restaurant! Bring hearing protection. Fortunately the service was quick so we could get out of there.

I’m not a big fan of eating out but I really love the tempeh wrap here and the high quality ingredients that make up all the food choices they have to offer as well as the excellent customer service. My sons actually like this restaurant, too, which is a huge compliment and a well deserved one! :)

We enjoyed our dinner emincely. We sat outside in their side patio. We bought 2 entrees and 3 sides. The crab cake was magnificent in texture and taste. Yet it was a bit small. The corn bread was not your typical corn bread. So yummy, it was moist and the vegan butter made it even better. The mac and cheese was good, nothing extremely special about it except the noodles were large and the cheese was very similar to dairy cheese! Our entrees were good. The fried chicken sandwich had a crisp coating and the fries were excellent. We rank it in our top 5 vegan restaurants in Maryland!! We'll definitely be back!!

The wait staff and service we're great. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I am not vegan or even vegetarian. I can say most of the food was good others not so much. Nachos were good. The "cheese" tasted and felt like cheese. The "chicken" quesadilla was good. The Mac and cheese was good also. The crab cake dish did not taste anything like the real thing and it was super salty. The shakes weren't that good either. I am also not a fan of the coconut "ice cream." The rose pasta was okay. Overall it was an interesting dinner but nothing on the menu stood out and it's just not a place I would return.

Great food, great service. I love how they rotate their menu seasonally to keep people wanting to come back and try new dishes. My #1 favorite item on their menu is their cauliflower bites. So delicious.

Update: Lost count of how many times I’ve been here, but aways great. Currently outdoor seating available only (2021) Wonderful vegan restaurant! The artichoke dip and Cesar salad are amazing. They have a seasonal menu which keeps things new and inventive.

This is our place where we go on Thanksgiving, they so far have been donating part of the dinners income to charity. 2019 they donated to the native American organization. Food is delicious, usually 5 courses with drink pairing, always have a feast! Excellent service. Good quality food and creative ideas.

Service is ponderously S-L-O-W. To the point of where you wonder if their good rating has been artificially pumped. Not sure what brings people in. Food is decent but the could-care-less hipster service makes the experience altogether, meh.

Stopped in to try the Buffalo Cauliflower Bits. They sounded so yummy. They took the order and they were done in no time flat. Unfortunately as good as they looked they were swimming in oil an there was nothing in the tray to absorb it. No bag for my meal, and when she brought me napkins, utensils and change I had to juggle it all to the car.

Food is good, but be aware of their bait-n-switch tactics (I.E. definitely check your bag they hand you while standing in the cold outside with a flashlight to be sure they give you what you ordered). I ordered two first courses and two second courses of their advertised restaurant week special. I received the second course and it was really good. I liked what they did with the eggplant. They breaded it perfectly like a schnitzel! Recommend it! Maybe they ran out of the first course? I do not know. They gave me spinach/artichoke dip instead, which I can't eat because of spinach. But they never let me know or asked me to switch at any time from ordering through picking it up. Just popped open the box and noticed it did not look anything like the beer cheese and pretzel bread they advertised. And after eating it it was definitely spinach. So my bathroom thanks Great Sage, but I recommend customers to definitely check their bags prior to leaving so that if/when there is a bait/switch of the food you ordered, you can chat immediately with them about it. So, I guess it is good if you be sure you get what you order.

I’ve been coming here for years and it’s one of those things where it’s always an okay experience. Overall I like the food, but compared to other vegan places in Baltimore, I don’t think it compares. For the price, I don’t believe it’s worth it. Also, whenever I’ve been here, there’s an air of elitism within the restaurant and I honestly have never felt welcome with one staff member, Amy, who is particularly rude. Staff can definitely use more training. Overall, I only come here when I’m in the area because of large dietary restrictions, but not my first choice.

What a great find. We needed to find a place to meet my daughter and boyfriend as they were heading out of town. They are both vegan and my daughter is celiac. The Great Sage didn't disappoint. We have to say the food was spectacular. We even splurged on carrot cake...also vegan .. which was a delicious moist tasty dessert! We will be back and would highly recommend. (Portions are generous)

Their carrot cake is really good and so is their breakfast sandwich. Their seasonal crab cake used to be really delicious as well. Beyond that I am not impressed with their food. Most of the items lack good seasoning. Their bread buns are semi hard and get harder within the next day. Above all, their prices are super high for the amount of food you receive and how it tastes. Their customer service seems sterile. I don't get warm and friendly vibes when I walk in. Once I was charged for a carryout meal about two weeks later? Their card charging system/ company had some issues I was told. 'We cant call customers to advise them if we didnt have their number' was the retort I was given after calling to inquire. Another time, after the gentleman who usually works the front checked my carryout bag for me (my mistake #1) I arrive home (30 minutes away) to discover I was missing an item. The person I spoke with was apologetic and immediately refunded me. However, I should have known something was up when I noticed my cookie was not in the bag and I had to remind him. Overall, I think their food is meh and their prices are exorbitant. To each its own, I guess.

Recently ate here on a Sunday around noon. It was somewhat busy, but no problems being seated. They have a combination of indoor and outdoor seating. We were visiting with friends who are vegan and all of us absolutely loved the food. And I quote "this is the best Mac and cheese I have ever had". The shakes were creamy, drinks delicious, cookies and lava cake to die for. There was absolutely nothing that wasn't delicious. We cannot wait to go back again. Parking was also ample and the restaurant was very easy to access. Servers were so nice and helpful with any restriction.

Thoughtful food. Hearty, healthy, and delicious noms to soothe the soul. An open air space with an inviting vibe makes one feel comfortable in the establishment. Morgan was there for every need with a smile and Maya delivered our meal promptly. A perfect experience for dining. Our party stayed a bit after closing, however, they were genuinely understanding of the conversation which carried further into the night. Thank you Great Sage. I will certainly be returning.

I was so excited to meet my friend and have brunch for the first time ever in a vegan restaurant. The inside of the restaurant and service was Good! But I found out All Vegan is not Healthy Food! My friend and I ordered Pierogi Quesadilla, Artichoke Spinach Dip and Crab cake platter. They all look great. Quesadilla and ASDip was good but the Crab cake platter looked so well presented but it was SUPER Salty that we had to put the fork down after one bite. It was partially my fault that I didn't read their ingredients before I ordered. I was too occupied with my friend who I haven't seen for years. It was disappointing meal but everything was good. I might take my daughter for an artichoke spinach dip, not a crab cake platter. # Artichoke Spinach Dip # Crab cake platter

I've ordered food from here 3 times before and it's always been good. With that said, a mandatory 15% tip for carry out is a joke. I've never seen a restaurant attempt this before. The food is already priced way too high, but charging people to eat it in the comfort of their own home is a new level of inflation.

I’ll start by saying I am not vegan (for what it’s worth) but I’ve eaten here a couple times pre Covid pandemic so it was nice to see all the new menu additions. Ultimately, I decided to order the brunch blueberry topped pancakes and they were delicious. I wanted more than just carbs so I ordered a side of “Just Eggs” and “bacon” but I was not a fan at all. If I ever ate a dog treat, it would taste like the bacon. Other than that, great food, great service, and nice environment.

I went here for my birthday because I've been trying the raw diet for this month, and didn't want to eat just a salad on my birthday....I wanted a delicious gourmet meal. I was not disappointed at Great Sage...my jaw actually dropped when the Autumn Roll was brought out....it was stunning to look at and absolutely delicious. I felt treated like a princess eating it, and I wish I had more room in my stomach to finish it. I grew up eating phyllo dough foods, so it made my day to have it. Everything was very flavorful, and I honestly didn't feel deprived of eating the normal tasty comfort foods you're used to having on a special day. The pumpkin mousse was delicious, and the sweetness in it was perfect.

I had the Portabella-Bulgogi Bowl. It was really good. I'm not a vegetarian, and I tend to stay away from processed vegan meat substitutes. This was recommended by our waiter and I enjoyed it very much. It was very flavorful and hit all the taste points for a bulgogi.

I have been to Great Sage a few times now, and it is always excellent. The food is delicious, the service is great, and they are very accommodating if you have any questions or allergies. Been going to this restaurant for 20+ years. Spent $23 for a Mediterranean vegan burger last evening …and what a disappointment all around. A waste of $ and my time after a 40 minute drive back and forth and hoping for at least a neutral experience dining out after a long day. Taste was good… but was way, way too small of a portion patty with minimal tiny fries. I couldn’t believe it! Unfortunately…(after three different experiences in six weeks sitting at the front bar) the overall experience with a specific meet and greet staff member is sadly what has become normalized for our post, 2020 era restaurant experiences. I am sympathetic and my heart goes out, but …it’s not the best idea placing a staff member who has clearly been traumatized with very real and personal life situations and expect them to relate to customers. It just …doesn’t quite match up frequency wise and I’m always generally leaving having to take on someone else’s painful projections of how raw and real… life can be. What would have made it better? Me choosing not to have eaten that sandwich and instead returned and asked for another dinner entree. Hopefully … a side salad will be offered along with until that menu option can be changed. Hoping so! Last night was my last time at the Great Sage. Can’t do it anymore!

The food was DELICIOUS. Our server, didn't get her name, was attentive and friendly, as well as the rest of staff. I've never been to a vegan restaurant of this real restaurant style. So many menu options, all sounding great. We had the spinach artichoke dip, sweet potato spinach soup, solstice crisp, apple crumble and mint chocolate brownie. EVERYTHING was divine. I don't eat soy and they were accommodating without sacrificing taste. Can't wait to go back for dinner and to try breakfast.

The owner is very nice and their carryout is easy and fast.

Great Sage is a great option to all the vegans, Vegetarians & even Meat eaters... I’m trying to avoid meat so came to this restaurant for brunch and didn’t miss eating any meat coz the names on the menu sound like any meat serving restaurant menu. So go ahead and order anything and you will enjoy it. The ambience of the restaurant is very welcoming.

Buyer Beware! Although the food is really good it is not as “organic” as the advertising leads you to believe. The sad truth about the “organic” industry is the amount of misleading information and outright cheating that is going on. Great Sage would do better to make it more clear as to what is and what is not “organic” as I sadly believed that I knew what I was actually eating the many times I have done business with them. I do appreciate Great Sage for presenting probably the cleanest food possible but I would rather be told exactly what I am consuming instead of being fed vague half truths.

The food was delicious! Great service and on Thursdays they have live music. The whole menu was vegan and offered multiple non dairy options (soy + coconut were ones I noticed) and gluten free choices. For dessert we had the special which was a pumpkin waffle which is the attached photo (it was super tasty!) I can't wait to come again. :-)

Never had a bad meal here. Never had a bad experience. Never actually had a complaint. 10+ visits. yes, they take reservations. (holidays have wait times- book a week in advance for major occasions) yes, the entire menu is vegan. yes, they can accommodate your celiac. yes, your non-vegan family will eat to capacity and like the food. yes, you will absolutely self-induce a food coma in the car ride home. The owner is the epitome of a vegan Alton Brown, and Alton Brown is a culinary legend, in my books. Kudos to you, Mr Owner and staff- You all run a tight ship, and it shows.

Ordered my comfort foods: adult Mac n cheese and lava cake with coconut ice cream. Oh. My. Gawwwwwwd. A little pricey but I haven’t had vegan Mac n cheese that rivals the real thing and wow! The sauce. So good. The pesto on top really makes it too. It’s “adult” because of the loads of crunchy veggies and they were perfectly cooked! I’m dairy free and this was the best vegan Mac n cheese I’ve had. Ok and I’m not going to lie the first thing I ate was the lava cake and ice cream. I would just go there for that. So. Delicious. We’ll be back! Service was great. I was kinda nervous bc it was my first time going and with Covid I wasn’t sure how ordering would go but someone came out right away and helped me and made me feel safe too. Great place! Glad it’s nearby.

I am new to the area and found this JEWEL! This is an amazing spot! Do t pass by this place and not try it! It’s fantastic and the people that work there are so helpful! I tried the nachos , Buffalo quesadilla, and the buffalo cauliflower. They are all set amazingly delicious!!

Very casual location with good outdoor seating. The food was ok. The adult Mac was interesting and the BALT wrap was tasty. The funky monkey smoothie was terrible. It tastes like chalky almond milk Yoo-hoo. Now the chocolate lava cake was very good. Healthy food but the pricing is serious. For two people with one smoothie my bill was about $60.00 Now I’ve been to quite a few vegan spots and this one for the food was kind of outrageous.

I have been here a more then a dozen times. I always start with my food allergies and I’m very clear about them. At least 80% of the time something is put in the computer wrong and my food either comes out with something I’m allergic to on it and they have to remake it OR they forget to note the allergies completely and then have to remake my food. Yesterday I ordered a salad and I also order spinach dip and they didn’t mark the allergy on the dip so they had to remake it and it took 30 min after I finished my salad to get this dish. It was ridiculous. They NEVER comp anything on my bill and I’m so disappointed in the service. It’s sad because the food is good when I can eat it. I can’t say I’ll continue to go to this restaurant because their customer service has been pretty terrible.

As a bona fide meat eater I was skeptical. I was happily proven wrong. The veggie wrap was delicious. It was well seasoned and and everything worked well. The slaw was incredibly creamy and the Dijon mustard was a great touch. The Buffalo Cauliflower was amazing. The wait was indicative of the popularity the restaurant but we were still seated quickly. For parties of 6 or more they add gratuity but the service was fantastic so it was not a big deal.

this was the first time my wife and I went to Great Sage. being a vegan restaurant, the food selection is ok and there are not a lot of choices. the quality of our main dishes was excellent. I got the 'impossible burger ' and loved it. it was moist and tasted like beef- I will gladly get it again. their beer and wine selection is descent and the prices are reasonable. we shared the carrot cake (gluten free - my wife has a gluten issue) for dessert and it was ok. the cake was a little bit dry and needed more carrots and nuts but it was edible. the icing was outstanding- if they add more carrots and nuts this will be a super dessert. my biggest issue was with the noise level. the walls don't have anything to absorb sound and the tables are very close. I could easily hear the conversation of the folks next to us - so I worked to tune them out and tune in my wife. for these reasons I rated this restaurant 4 stars. but because of the great food and our excellent waitress , we will return. i will just pick a different time and wont get the carrot cake.

I have a dairy allergy, so it's rare for me to be able to fully relax at a restaurant. So a vegan restaurant, which is guaranteed to be free of dairy, is like a safe haven for me. It doesn't hurt that the food here is always good, and I don't ever find myself missing meat. (For other people who, like me, aren't always vegan, I would recommend steering away from the omelettes - while tasty, the texture is a bit off). My favorite meal is brunch, since that's usually such a dairy heavy meal that I don't get to have brunch out very often.

As a longtime customer of this restaurant (3? 4? locations?) since 1994, I've definitely had my memorable "this could be my last meal on earth" meals as well as several misses, but overall, the combination of ingredient quality, inventiveness/creativity, and price point make this a 5. They have items so popular they can probably never safely remove them from the menu, and they have a core rotation of bases they work from (tempeh, tofu, tamales) that they build incredible, layered meals around with sauces and sides and all-around total goodness. I don't think we will ever tire of coming here. Even if we got the same "base" dish each time, no two would be alike due to their flair for making the most of the season.

Literally one of the best meals I've ever had, if not THE best. There is some serious vegan magic going on in the kitchen and the front of the house doesn't miss a beat either. The ambiance, at least on this Saturday night, was hot, packed, and a bit on the trendy side. Had a definate Berkeley vibe with extremely kind and friendly and COMPETENT staff. Was a total joy worth a couple hours to savior. Do yourself a favor and don't be in a rush. Really looking forward to another visit.

Hands down this us some of the best vegan food I've had. It's nice to have an option to sit down for a nice meal that isn't a burrito or tofu stir fry. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is very friendly. Though the food is on the spendy side, it's worth it. Everything is fresh and flavorful, and the menu changes often to feature in-season produce.

I thought the food here was spectacular! We ordered takeout so I can't comment on the service but WOW. Every dish was delicious, and it was such a treat to have a menu full of options that I can eat. They work really hard to make as many gluten free options as well, which I appreciated. We tried the mac and cheese (very good, though not as unique and mind blowing as the other dishes), the beet poke (so fresh and delicious!), the curry (good, though similar to many other curries I've had) and my favorite was the "breaded" mushroom appetizer. It was simultaneous super savory and crispy, but gluten-free and didn't leave me feeling awful from all the grease that usually comes with wings.

Food was delicious all around. Fingerling potatoes were great with probably the best homemade ketchup I've ever had. Cajun Tempeh was nothing short of amazing. Cocktails and dessert were good too. Would have given 5 stars, but our waiter kept disappearing for very long stretches. For example, we finished our appetizer, and he still hadn't come back to take our entree order. Maybe they were short staffed that night

great little vegan place on college avenue. I love the service, exactly what I wanted since I needed a place to camp out while waiting for my ride to another city. I have the tofu sandwich, which was a party in my mouth, to say the very least. So many flavors. I can still taste it when I burp, which is a good thing. I would stay away from the turmeric soda. Just because you have a SodaStream doesn't mean you put anything you want in it. I'm sure the best of intentions were there.

We came on a Thursday night at 8 to a very lively and very loud scene. The squash tempura, olive and brussel sprouts appetizers were all delicious as was the French Onion soup which we split. My omnivore partner really enjoyed his Juniper and black pepper glazed tempeh. All the sides that were added to the main dishes were generous and so good! My Pumpkin Tamal I found a bit bland. The kombucha was very good. Service was great. We specified that we were there for our anniversary on our reservation so I do wish they would have given us a slightly quieter spot.

Staff is very friendly, and this is the only true vegan restaurant in the area. The food is fine (for vegan food) but not exciting, and the menu doesn't change much, and it's quite expensive. A visit to the Roots grocery store next door makes it a worthwhile trip.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite restaurant on the planet. Great Sage is a safe haven for someone with multiple food allergies, the most severe of which is dairy. Over the years, my family and friends have joined me for many meals at Great Sage, and my husband and I have also celebrated birthdays and anniversaries there. The employees and management have always been friendly, amusing, patient, and accommodating. Their coffee is fantastic, their Spinach Artichoke Dip is incredible, their Ultimate Nachos are my personal favorite, their soups are second to none, their mac and cheese is unrivaled, and their desserts are incredible. Just a reminder: The people who want vaccine passports and masks are the same people who closed down your business for a year, and are happy for you to go bankrupt. The people you'll be banning due to guidelines (not a law), are the ones who will keep you in business. Choose wisely.

100% one of THE best restaurants I have been to in a while, vegan or none vegan. They had a great selection of refreshing beverages, amazing service, and top notch food. Beautiful, peaceful outside seating with a unique touch. We started off with some fresh ginger beer and kombucha beer, fantastic to get the pallet going. Then we moved to the happy hour appetizers, cauliflower bites, and artichoke dip. The bites were fluffy and tasty while the artichoke dip had a nice lemon zest to it. The bread that came along tasted really fresh as well. We also tried out the chick’n sandwich, which if you closed your eyes, your probably couldn’t tell it wasn’t chicken at all. The ciabatta bread was a beautiful compliment to the entire meal, the whole sandwich hit the spot right on target. We finished the meal with the tres leches dessert which could not have been more fantastic than the entire experience already. It was a fantastic way to cap off the meal. It’s the type of food where you can eat a lot and not feel stuffed at the end of it. Super duper hands off the Chef (Alex) for making it all come together so well. Beautifully plated with perfect timed temperature. Would highly recommend this to anyone in the state looking for a fantastic food experience. Hats off to everyone who works there making all this happen. Will definitely be telling all my friends and family to come check out this spot and will be coming back very soon!

I am a new mom to a baby with a dairy allergy, and Great Sage has become my safe space. After being unknowingly given dairy at another restaurant, even though I ordered something vegan to avoid it, I had been avoiding going out entirely. A friend recommended Great Sage, and I’ve officially gone two weekends in a row since! To be able to order anything I want without fear of dairy or my baby being in pain when I feed him later is so amazing. Not to mention the food is incredible. I’d eat one of their cinnamon rolls every single day if I could! Highly recommend, even if you’re not vegan.

Been here 3 or 4 times and this is a great vegan restaurant and option! The food is always pretty great, really love the spinach artichoke dip, nachos and Buffalo bites! Customer service has also been pretty good but the reason I’m giving them 4 stars is due to the fact that they close at 7pm (even on the weekends). Maybe it’s just due to the current climate of tne world, pandemic, employment issues, and all that. We came in for dinner when we were in the area on Friday and arrived at 6:45pm for dine in and they told us we had to get all our drink, dining and desert orders placed within 5 minutes. We said that was fine since we had been before and had a good idea what to order and were appreciative that we got to sit. The whole service did feel a bit rushed and they were cleaning up around us but that was alright since we knew they were trying to close… but I truly wish they’d stay open till 7:30 or 8pm because it can be hard to get there by 7pm sometimes. If they have a hard cut off of 7pm, I wish they would post the last call seating time (6:30 or 6:45) online, because if they close at 7 I’d assume they’d seat and take orders until 7. overall a good vegan dining experience but keep the timing in mind and plan accordingly.

Let me start by saying the food and service here was incredible! I am dairy free and the Mac and cheese and carrot cake rival what I remember before giving up dairy. Our server was lovely and attentive and did everything he could to make this a good experience. 100% this would be a five star review if we had not had an issue with our payment and the solution that was given. We live about 45 minutes away and chose to come here because we had a $50 gift card. When we went to pay the gift card would not run. We were informed that they updated their payment system during COVID and the old gift cards do not run properly. Fine. I get that. The employees texted the manager who was not in. Though she responded to their texts about this known problem she did not empower her employees to come up with an appropriate solution. We had to pay the full bill and we’re given her contact information to try and resolve the problem at a later date. I’m a fairly understanding customer but there were several better ways to handle this situation and this is now our first impression. Should this issue get resolved, I’d be happy to make this a 4-5 star review. Our waiter suggested that the manager would contact us, but instead we have been asked to contact the manager. Fingers crossed.

First of all, I'm not a vegan. This place was an awesome surprise for me. I started with one of the best old fashions I've ever had. If I wasn't driving, I'd have ordered a pitcher 😆 . Nice representation of local spirits. I had the Mac n cheese. And I love actual cheese, so I was stunned how much I love loved the dish.

I’ve been coming here for years, an old friend brought me here precovid when I had just turned vegan and I loved the food from day one. I’ve spent my birthday here every year since 2018 and my partner and I also had our first date and first kiss here so it’s a very special place with fond memories. The spinach artichoke dip and nachos are my favorite. They make their pickles and pickled jalapeños in house and the flavors are always perfect so I have to have extra! The inflation price increases (while a little unfortunate) are understandable and I still have no trouble supporting them. All of the waitstaff are so friendly and always willing to help. Even if you aren’t vegan I recommend giving them a try! The food will definitely surprise you in a good way! ❤️ I’ve never written a review for them but I couldn’t help but admire how pretty my burger looked with all those pickles! Here’s to many more special memories and celebrations with Great Sage! ❤️❤️

We've been so happy to have Great Sage in Clarksville for a good while now. Kudos to the owner(s) for establishing a fully-vegan restaurant option in Howard County. It will elaborate later, but the selections have dropped in both creativity and quality, at least for the price. For comparison, try The Fancy Radish in DC. We ate at both restaurants back to back, Friday and Saturday nights, and spent the same ~$125 on dinner, drinks, and dessert for the two of us. Both restaurants offered excellent service and a great space to be in, but Great Sage has to seriously up its game when it comes to food. More later.

Topped with scallions & sesame seeds.

I love the healthy vegetarian and vegan food they provide. But I don't think it is really healthy if they are adding "sugar" to their food. I went to this restaurant many times and the food always tastes sweet! In my opinion, food has to be salty and with spices, and the dessert should the sweet dish. I really don't like sweet food, it is disappointing. I know that many "fine restaurants" are following the tendency to cook sweetened food. But I think vegetarian vegan restaurants are supposed to be healthy food and adding sugar to the dishes is not healthy at all. I wish you and all vegan restaurants can change this practice.
