the topmost level exhibit chronicling the 20th century decades is great & fairly comprehensive, and it adds to being able to understand the dominant vernacular around you as a visitor to helsinki. also there are some free magazines & books by the entry desk, which is nice for a souvenir

Fairly small bit very informative about the quite specific story of Finnish architecture. The temporary exhibition was on seventies brutalism which I hadn't known but it proved to be fascinating.

Empty on a Sunday morning. Free with museum card. Not a big museum but you can learn something about architecture in last century. And from there you can bring a brochure and check which buildings deserve a visit in Helsinki.

Exhibition was quite small. Interesting exposé of the first woman to establish herself as an architect in Finnland. However, it seems that the museum is not paying enough tribute to the city’s potential. A walk around the museum area reveals more than the museum does…

Our group of three generations and both genders thoroughly enjoyed the permanent and the moving exhibitions. The history timeline explains the Fins demand for healthy housing built around a courtyard. Well worth a couple of hours.

Relatively small but nice museum. It consists of two floors. One for temporary exhibition and one the permanent one. The permanent is dedicated to the architecture of Finland from 20th century and afterwards. The temporary exhibition nowadays is dedicated to women architectures. You can check everything in no more than 1 hour. It is better to visit together with Design Museum which lays just next corner. The future plan is to combine the two museums in one building, but this will be decided on 2023.

The Museum of Funnish Architecture in Helsinki maintains a collection of Finnish architecture and features some changing exhibitions as well such as one of Finnish suburbs over time. Definitely worth a visit if you have an interest in architecture!

Pretty cool museum with great depth and a lot of interesting and unique subject matter. Was very cool to see exhibits which explored the mind of an architect coupled with sketches, notes and pictures. Came here in 2019 and found it very informative and cool!

Definitely a nice place to visit and learn about how the urban planning developed during 20 th century. The museum also talks about future of Finnish architecture 💕 after this museum I was so inspired by building which use wood in their architecture and visited one exemple of it in the city- that was a Kamppi chapel 💒

Small museum about the history of architecture of Finland, which is closely related to Finland’s history. I appreciated the quotes relating to how architects and society have a view on how building and city planning are contributing to inclusion and equity - or lack of thus need to do better.

Helsinki is currently building a new architecture and design museum. This one is kind of outdated, but still very interesting. I am a big fan of Finnish architecture, especially how they adopted Bauhaus.

Spent lots of time reading the intreging explanations. Didn't notice the library until we were leaving. Will need to visit again.

I had a concrete understanding of Finnish architecture and enjoyed the exhibition very much. Everything was just right

Not so big as i imagined. But beautiful. The subject is changing always so i am not sure what exhibition you will see. I could see the history of the finland architecture.

The exibition is not that big, but is incredibly interesting to anyone who is keen on architecture. Gives good insight on how - and why - Finnish architecture style developed in 20th century.

Visiting this museum is completely waste of your time. Don't expect to learn anything about beautiful Finnish architecture here. Any information of Jugend style or Finnish architectural master pieces such as Helsinki Railway station or Helsinki Catheral in completely missing. Also well known Scandinavian gems from beautiful modern architecture such as Löyly or Oodi buildings are not even mentioned. Currently, there is a strong focus on depressing concrete apartment buildings in temporary exhibition and the permanent exhibition has focus how the last hundred years practicality overshadows the beauty in modern architecture. If you are into Finnish architecture you learn more just walking around the city.

Make sure to check the dates of exhibitions. Was there in between exhibitions - the last one ended but the new one isn't ready yet - although it was nice to get free admissions because of that, what we could see seemed limited. But still a good museum to understand Finnish history and its built environment

Probably the worst museum of Finland. Despite Finnish architecture being known worldwide, the main museum dedicated to it is a joke. Full of irrelevant and boring stuff. Don't bother to go there and go for a walk in the nearby areas. Look up to admire the wonderful jugend style buildings.

Great place! Tons of displays and the library has tons of information regarding architecture.

Excellent guided tour by Suvi. Well worth a visit even without a guided tour. The displays have great information in English.

A very intimate and focused museum with about half of its floorspace currently given over to Wivi Lonn, a notable female Finnish architect influential in helping women to attain recognition in the field. Great details, but a strange absence of information both on timeframes post-1970 and much of any mention of the looming presence in the room, Alvar Aalto. I know there are other museums for that, maybe it's a bit overplayed, but I'm very excited for the upcoming expansion of this museum (and apparently combining it with the nearby design museum). I think more could be done, but what's here is quite cool.

The museum was disappointing. A city like Helsinki with such a rich architecture should have a better display.
