A hidden place on the highway. It can be easily missed. You really have to pay attention when you get closer to this destination on maps. I visited this place on a weekday in the evening during sunset. It had a beautiful and a calming vibe. It has decent parking place inside the premises. It's not wheelchair friendly though. It also has a museum inside along with the gurdwara. I'd highly recommend this place to any traveller.

Badkhalsa memorial is a holy place in the Sikh History. Guru Tegbahadur was martyred by mughal emperor in Delhi. His Devotees took his head & walked towards his native place in Punjab. On way they stopped in Badkhalsa to save the head from mughal spies. In his memory this place was archived by Delhi Government.

BadKhalsa Memorial is under Deptt of Archeology, Govt of Haryana and has been set up in memory of Bhai Jeevan Singh ji who stopped here overnight in Nov, 1675, while carrying severed head (Sheesh) of Guru Teg Bahadur ji. He was give an escape route by locals to carry on with his journey to Anandpur Sahib. A local elder, Kushal Singh Dahiya (also known as Kushali), offered to sacrifice himself, so that Mughal forces could be given his head in place of that of Guru Teg Bahadur ji.

Bhai Jaita Ji stayed here on the way to Anandpur Sahib with Sheesh (Head) of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji after Guruji was martyred by Mughals at Delhi. A Gurudwara and Memorial has been setup here. It is just on the Main GT Karnal Road while going from Delhi to Karnal just after crossing the KMP-FNG Express way.

The Historical small village of BADKHALSA has its name inscribed in the Sikh history in golden letters. The supreme sacrifice of an ancestor from here, Bhai Kushal, a follower of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Teg Bhadur, is something that this village will always be proud of. Bhai Kushal Singh of this village offered his head to fool the Mughals, who wanted to retrieve the head of the guru being taken to Anandpur Sahib by one of followers.

It is my birth place. I was born in Badkhalsa village in Dec 1961, but left the place and settled down in my maternal place i.e Village Harewali, Delhi. Recently I happened to be at Badkhalsa Memorial and found it to be a historical place as it is preserving the legacy and sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh. Proud to belong to this place.
