I don’t even know where to start.. this is hands down the best restaurant you will find in Raleigh. The menu is eclectic and adventurous, but ties in familiarity so you’re open to trying new things. The menu changes from week to week, usually leaving some staple menu items - like their bread and butter.. sounds simple.. but trust me, it’s worth every bite. I have eaten here numerous times and each time it gets better, which is hard to even say because it is always good. This is a perfect place to order a bunch of shared plates and try the whole menu. Their large plates are also really good. *Something to note- they don’t take reservations, so give yourself some time. They do however have a small outside where you can order drinks and small plates before they seat you.

Amazing food in an unpretentious setting. The focus is on the food and the folks behind the bar are doing great too. Nobody is cooking better food in Raleigh at this price point. I genuinely love this restaurant. If I have a bad experience here I will modify my review but until that happens I’ll just keep adding pictures of the incredible food when I come back (every chance I get) when I remember to take pictures.

The food and service are outstanding. The staff are some of the nicest people you'll meet. The food is very delicious. While you may be familiar with the food, you most likely never had it the way they prepared it. The only thing I wished was better was the wait time, which is understandable for special restaurants like this. If you are new to the restaurant and you plan on going, show up at 4:15 pm before they serve and put your name in with the hostess. From there, you can grab drinks and return at the specified time. They have a little outdoor area and serve some appetizers and drinks, but those seats fill up quickly.

One of our favorite places in Raleigh and the entire triangle area. Season menu, fresh ingredients and one of the best steaks in town. Bar. Dessert. Small plate. Large plate. All excellent. What's interesting is the creativity for both vegetarian dishes and the use of items like sweet meats. Really, you can't go wrong here.

Food is amazing every time! The ribeye is better than all steak houses. The small plates are created with care and an explosion of flavor. I love going here and will go again and again! Since the place is relatively small, do not go here unless you want experience an amazing variety of foods. Save that table for me!

All I have to say is this is by far the best restaurant in the area. The apps are amazing flavorful and unique. We had the green smashed cucumbers, burrata and tuna crude. For dinner we had the rib eye, lamb chop and tagliatelle- all meals were cooked to PERFECTION! And to end the night we had all 3 desserts black coco cake, sweet corn custard and peach ice cream. Kate was a great server and I can’t wait to bring all my family and friends!

I've heard great things about this place for as long as I can remember. I finally got to try it with my fiance and it completely exceeded our expectations. The food was phenomenal! The rotating menu concept is intriguing, and will definitely keep us coming back. The service was great as well, and very fast. Fun place for a date or an outing with friends. Everything we had was great for sharing.

A hidden Raleigh gem in my book. Very cozy, romantic atmosphere that you don’t necessarily have to dress up for. The menu changes however the quail was a treat. I should’ve ordered two because, well, it’s a quail; it’s small. The sesame tart was worth its weight in gold. Outside and patio seating makes good for fair weather drinks and lounge.

To start, we ordered the grilled swordfish was nice, and the sauce was really good, and I loved that the taste of the fish wasn't that strong. I had a hard time deciding what to order because I wasn't seduced by the menu, so I went with a safe option. The grilled porkchop was excellent and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The rice and broccolini substitution were perfect compliments to the meat. The strawberry buckle dessert was a perfectly balanced mix of flavors. I am very disappointed that they charge any amount of money for the bread and butter. All in all I feel very satisfied but the prices are steep.

The food was outstanding. Loved the open kitchen. Great selection of beverages, including a delightful mulled cider. The crudo was phenomenal. The only downside was it's popularity - the wait was fairly long, but at least you can warm up next to a fire and enjoy a bottle of wine.

Menu is well balanced and changes often, though I’d recommend doing lots of small plates and sharing. Our server Brandle was incredibly warm and personable. Worth waiting for a table! Can’t wait to come back! Dishes pictured are the charred octopus and grilled asparagus, favorite overall was the coppa!!

Quirky restaurant with amazing food and service! I would start saying that I love the "no reservation" style. Warming up with a drink before your meal is the best way to start the experience. The food is outstanding and I couldn't keep my eyes off of the decorations. Loved it.

Stunning! Also glad they don't do reservations as all the other restaurants. Yes, we had to wait 1.5 hours, but there was a nice outside sitting with full bar and snacks served during our wait. All my photos are from waiting to get a table.

We thankfully arrived close to when Stanbury opened and were seated within 10 minutes. The space has expanded since I last visited and I appreciated the spacing between tables. We ordered 5 small plates and they were all tasty. The beef tartare was amusing, and was even more enjoyable after inquiring about it. It was a little too much 1000 island dressing, but the fried shoe string potatoes were excellent. The lamb was fall apart delicious with the pierogi. The bone marrow was as good as I remembered, but the bread had some burnt bitter bites. The sweet breads were well fried and the risotto was creamy. The beat chips and pickled apples were an interesting bite to the tuna. Overall, an excellent meal.

The hubby and I went here for date night.. and the whole night was magical. The food was GREAT and the staff was absolutely AMAZING. I am certain their food is sent from the heavens because it was all so good. We are indefinitely coming back to this place for date night again!

Truly excellent meal at a very cozy, eclectic restaurant. Every single thing we had was delicious, I am genuinely excited to go back and try more! I don't even have anything in particular to recommend, I expect you could throw a dart at the menu and end up happy.

This is one of the best restaurants in Raleigh and for good reason. They have an eclectic, rotating seasonal menu. Small plates galore to share: salmon crudo, beef tartar, shishito peppers(best you will ever have) pictured here. Large plates for those who want something for themselves. The ambiance is casual and dive-y while the food is upscale. The service is exceptional; they time the courses coming out perfectly. What’s not to love?

On my 1st trip to Raleigh North Carolina I was looking for an authentic restaurant with a good steak. My seat mate on the flight from Miami suggested Stanbury. It was a hidden treasure for sure. The rib-eye wax prepared to perfection. Loud old school rock n roll was blasting and people having a great time. I ended meeting Joseph the owner and closing the restaurant down. We moved to the bar to talk for hours and share his favorite after dinner libations. It was a special evening with a new friend. Great experience.

This place is bomb! They have the best food around; you can't go wrong with ordering just about anything on the menu. Our waiter, Mark, did a fantastic job recommending a few dishes. The pork chop was our favorite. This place has a very cool and eclectic vibe inside, they do not take reservations so be ready to wait for a table. They do however have a bar near the host so that you can relax and have a drink while you wait for your table. We will be back!

Incredible food, wonderful ambiance, easily one of, if not the best restaurant in Raleigh. Make sure to show up early, they do not take reservations (which I think is great, save the tables for the people who put the effort into showing up) and as one might imagine the wait time can be significant. The perfect place to sit with friends and order a wide variety of incredible small plates, a fantastic destination for a date, celebrating an occasion, or even just enjoying fantastic cuisine with friends.

The Stanbury was amazing. I went with a friend and we shared some of the small plates. The shrimp and the sausage and peppers were excellent. The sauces on both dishes were perfectly balanced with flavor and a little bit of heat. I would highly suggest their sesame bread to sop up all that goodness. The staff was friendly and our server was the best. She was very attentive and extremely proficient. One of the best servers I've had in awhile. We will definitely be returning, as their menu changes on a regular basis and we can't wait to see what they come up with next.

A place you wouldn’t expect to have one of the best meals of the year. No reservations. On a weekend, get there early to put your name on the list. You won’t regret it.

What an amazing place. The food was fantastic to say the least. Everyone that works there is welcoming, helpful, and all around pleasant. I HIGHLY recommend this place. The music and ambiance only added to the fantastic food, and an overall wonderful experience. Advice: show up before they open as there will be a line of people waiting and they can only sit so many people. Even still, we would've waited and it would've been completely worth it.
