I
just
came
back
from
a
wonderful
"WAKE
UP
YOUR
PRESENCE"
transformational
retreat
organized
by
Claudia
and
Joanna
at
Quinta
Carvalhas
in
October
2023.
This
particular
retreat
combined
modern
psychology
and
breathwork
techniques
with
ancient
dancing
and
shamanic
practices,
as
well
as
embodiment
exercises.
The
program
was
intense
but
very
well
planned;
after
working
with
our
minds
and
breathing,
we
were
focusing
on
our
bodies.
After
going
inward
and
shutting
out
the
world,
we
were
consciously
and
gently
interacting
with
other
humans.
All
in
all,
the
4-day
schedule
was
well-balanced.
I
mention
all
the
time
that
Claudia
and
Joanna
are
like
the
right
and
left
parts
of
one
brain,
impossible
without
each
other
and
balancing
each
other
out.
Joanna
was
helping
people
heal
through
deep
breathwork
and
self-reflection.
Claudia
was
helping
us
to
stay
connected
to
our
bodies
throughout
this
whole
process,
prepare
our
bodies
for
intensive
breathwork
with
gentle
yoga
exercises,
and
explore
our
relationships
with
other
people
and
nature
around
us.
Claudia
is
very
knowledgeable
about
the
links
between
body
and
soul,
body
and
elements,
and
the
body
and
its
boundaries.
Her
yoga
and
shamanic
dancing
techniques
help
you
to
energize
and
connect
to
the
power
of
water,
wind,
fire
and
Mother
Earth.
Her
approach
is
very
practical
and
intuitive,
because
some
things
cannot
be
explained
only
by
words,
they
should
be
danced
and
sung
instead!
She
has
great
emotional
intelligence
and
knows
how
to
approach
people
with
different
traumas
and
blockages
(aren’t
we
all
in
this
category?).
Another
beautiful
thing
about
Claudia
is
her
ability
to
engage
people
and
bring
a
group
of
different
women
and
men
together
-
be
it
through
stories
around
the
fire
or
an
early
morning
mantra
chant.
What
working
with
Claudia
at
this
retreat
brought
me
was
successfully
working
with
my
fear
of
getting
emotionally
close
to
other
people
and
being
touched
by
others.
It’s
a
big
thing
for
me
because
my
fear
of
interaction
with
other
people
and
not
trusting
my
body
was
once
the
reason
for
panic
attacks
and
is
currently
the
reason
for
several
unhealthy
food
habits.
After
the
retreat,
I
managed
to
do
my
yoga
and
mantra
singing
every
day,
and
I
am
keeping
up
good
food
habits.
