We ate here for 2 days of our stay in Rameswaram. Food is simple, tasty, and healthy. Service is prompt and with a smile, and the place is clean. Thankful for this, otherwise, food elsewhere in Rameswaram is just disastrous.

This place has the best Onion uttapam,idli,puri bhaji,masala dosa at very affordable prices and it's served in traditional banana leaf the service is very quick Do try idlis it's very soft and served right when it's made.✨✨✨

Homely food can be tasted at nominal rate in rameswaram.. Due to over crowd smtms they feel diificult to manage in serving side dishes... morning breakfast, and dinner u can get tiffin items... Stayed at Rameshwaram for 3 days! The only thing I was longing for was to taste the Ghee Podi Dosa! The Pongal & Idli! Homely food! Best people! Completely worth! I used to walk 2kms just to visit this place during my stay

Their menu are delicious and yummy to eat. Good mess. This hotel seems too small but the real taste is inside the mess. It doesn't have more tables. In future they have to improve their standards and they could add more tables.

Sri Murugan Mess is a pure-vegetarian restaurant offering homemade dishes. You can take the road opposite to the north gate of Rameshwaram Temple to reach this restaurant. They offer all three meals - breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

It's Best place for decent meal in Rameshwaram...You get complete meal at Rs 100 which includes unlimited rice,Sambar,3 Vegetables and one papad and a sweet dish what more can you ask for...the owner too is very friendly and he guided us on how to take darshan in ramswamy temple...the only negative point is as they have small place and they are very popular you might have to wait long time to get your seat

Food was excellent. It's very near to North Entrance of the temple. Just walkable distance. Google map placed correctly. They have little parking and huge hall to dine in and also provide take away on another separate space. They accept Cash and UPI. From this mess, its walkable straight to SeaShore of Rameswaram.

Go with bag if you want take away. Go with water bottles if you dine in and need bottled water, they don't sell water bottles.

Wow food, clean and hygienic, you need to remove your shoes to go inside. Food was awesome, i took 2 plate Paratha Kurma, 4 Dosa, 2 Idly all perfect. Still feel water in my mouth while posting this. Very nicely priced. Only 460/-

We ordered plan dosa and Uttappam for kids and they actually finished their food. We also ate till we were fully satisfied. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. Very nice customer service as well. Will definitely go again if we can and highly recommend to everyone.

Ok for those who are well acquainted with its location or to those who can follow Google map. A small eatery with well prepared local varieties and visited by those who stay in and around this locality. Rates are also reasonable. Best suggested for takeaway to your place of residing. Check up the working hours as we have to wait for its opening for dinner after 07:00 Pm only.

We visited 25people for the lunch.. i got different feedback from everyone... Some said little spicy.. some said opposite.. but no one said it's not worth.. small place.. if you are looking for meals good place.. food is ok . Like home style.. Recommended..

Tastes good. Cheap. Clean. No nonsense food. What else is needed? Probably not too many options. But hey, it's a tourist town, you aren't going to eat here every day. Even if you do, the food is tasty enough.

the hotel is run by a family so the food is like home made. The breakfast I had also was good. But the owner, the man of the family, asked me to leave immediately after I was done with my breakfast. It was not courteous of him to do that which made it a little bitter for me. However, the women who cooked and served food were also not happy with the man's behaviour. The women running the hotel is the only reason why you should visit the hotel.

Don't go by the looks of this place. One of the best restaurant in Rameshwaram to have meals and breakfast. Must try items are, Idly and their red chutney and Meals in the noon

Food quality is good. Had visited once during my trip to Rameshwaram, ordered for takeout, taste and quality is really good. Recommend if you have visit with family and kid. But please order only for takeout as this place is very small and would be difficult for dine in.

Mr. Murugan (the owner) of this small food place is a smart guy (can speak 5-6 languages) cooking awesome homely food and serving with a wide smile. The food is delicious and is prepared out of a hygienic kitchen in his old but clean house. A must visit mess if you are searching for simple south Indian tasty and reasonable meal in Rameswaram.

I stayed in Rameshwaram for 2 days, and went to Sri Murugan Mess 3 times. Food is lovely, people absolutely lovely and ground to earth. I went to their kitchen area as well - it's so clean. For such an amazing food, they charge very less. It's a must go place. You must try their meals. I loved their meal, rava dosa, idli, vada and pongal.

I’m very thankful to them for serving us right before they pulled down the shutter. Food was excellent and I highly recommend it for their simplicity and hospitality. Please do not imagine a fancy place. It’s worth it.

Dont go with reviews. It is all hiped! Basic thing which I expected is the cleanliness which is not at all there. Lots of houseflies. Unhigeinic place. The food tastes good but not extraordinary. 100 rs for meals which is not less than available options around as well. I dont see any better points for a two or above starts.

Tiffin items are delicious. Their chutneys will make you go there again. Meals quantity is enormous but not as tasty as other items.

Food was very wholesome, not spicy, nice and flavourful. I imagine this is how Tamil home food might be. There were 3 varieties of vegetables,3 varieties of liquids also. I definitely want to bring my family here when I visit with them. Place is very cheap also.

Homely food.. Had been here for lunch for 2 days. Absolutely loved it. Rice, sambar, vegetable sides, appalam, payasam.

Actually it turned out to be a really good place, good homely delicious south indian food, haven't had this homely food outside in few months. chutnies were awesome, apart from the upgrade to the restaurant, which will remind you to be 1980's , i would say i m ready to ignore that for its food. And it seems they have 2 restaurants, this one which is a bit inside, but walkable and less crowded and the other one on main road dosa variety was around 40-50rs and idli 8rs.

After reading so many good reviews I made it a point that I will definitely visit this place . It took me a while to search this place but I found it . Tasty , hygienic food on affordable rates. Batter then many North Indian hotels located there. Owner is very polite and table service lady was also very good.

This was very interesting experiance. I seen lot of very good reviews abt this food point and that made me to visit the place. My first impression by seeing a very small place in a narrow lane was not good and I return from outside. As a north indian I tried north indian food in rameswaram in different marwadi bhojanalayas. Most of them are not good as some places food was bad..somewhere no cleanliness .. So after much self persuasion I came back to this food point and went inside. The owner is very humble guy and knows hindi also. We ordered idli and ghee podi dosa... They dont use plate or spoon etc.. only banana leaves. The first byte only changed my perception about this.. wow.. in such a small place he is serving very simple ..authentic.. and hygienic food.. in such a low cost. Also you need to remove ur shoes outside so no dirt inside. Place was also quite clean. After that we have tried lunch and dinner also. Lunch was very simple with rice, sambhar,rasam,chutani and papad... with nice taste. I feel the people from north may not enjoy lunch so much but otherwise ..it is worth to try. Getting simple n tasty food in rameswaram is very difficult.

Best quality and tasty food which you ever have it in other shops even in big restaurants like A2B, saravan bhavan. I became sambar addict. Home made food with no preservatives, no artificial flavor or colors.

Kind of big surprise in a small package kind of a thing. The food here was just amazing & mostly felt like home food. It's served in plantain leaf, three side dishes along with Sambhar, Rasam & Thin Curd - papad is served to top-up the meal. It's unlimited meals for ₹100. We all liked it, kids too ate well.

Visited the place for dinner. It is a very small place with very basic setup. Did not get the right support from staff. Ghee podi dosa was great. Masala dosa and uttapam were okay. Idlis were undercooked. Chutneys were great too but sambhar was average. Card and UPI payments are not accepted. They take only cash.
