Ramar Patham is a historical significant place where Lord Rama and his army were resting and planning their journey to Sri Lanka. This place is also mentioned in the great Ramayana. And it's also the same place where Lord Hanuman took a long leap towards Sri Lanka from this hill in search of Goddess Sita. Situated just few kilometres away from Rameswaram town. You can find the footprints of Lord Rama inside the temple. No need of any entry tickets. Parking space is available. Temple opens by 7 AM, will be remained opened till 6 in evening. Road to this place is narrow. Hence, advised to use cars or travellers.

Best view point in Rameshwaram. It's situated at a good height and therefore one can see entire Rameshwaram from top of this temple. Many eateries are available nearby. Since it's at a distance from main road, it's good to come to this place in shared auto or bus. Walking to this place is best experience as road passes through jungle and village. Sunset time is good time to visit this place however if you are in Rameshwaram only fir one day then Pamban beach view point is best place at sunset.

Ramar Patham is a small hillock located at a distance of 3Km from Ramanathaswamy Temple. People who visit Rameswaram will visit this small hill. It is said that Lord Rama's feet are imprinted here for devotees to worship. There is no bus available and you have to take AUTO (or) CAR from Rameswaram Temple. There you can see so many petty shops selling juices, fruits, coconuts, and other eatables. It is a small hill where you can climb 25 steps to see Lord Rama's Footprint. Also, it is the highest altitude in Rameswaram which is the best site seeing spot. You can feel the fresh air and cool climate on the hilltop. From this viewpoint, you can see the entire Rameswaram city, Ramanathaswamy Temple Gopuram, India's second-highest TV broadcast(dhoordharsan) tower. One must visit this place to enjoy seeing Sun Rise and Sun Set. Some Important Stuff; 1. Entry is Free 2. Parking is Available 3. Timings: 07:00 Am to 01:00 Pm and 03:00 Pm to 06:00 Pm. 4. Travel by Car (or) Auto 5. No Bus

The only good thing is the Arial view because we can see the surroundings clearly and this place has good Breeze. The Brahmin priest demands money from people to put on the plate infront of him instead of putting it on the hundial (donation box) and it feels like a scam because he keeps insisting people to put money on the plate instead of putting inside hundial(donation box) because if people put the money on the hundial he won't get it.

Quaint temple with legendary claims for having the imprints of Lord Ram on stones. I do not know whether they are actually the footprints of Rama himself: but for sure ,it looks like a very ancient place. Photography inside the temple is not allowed but the surrounding views are stunning with a Doordarshan tower looming above. The roads to this place are quite narrow & this temple is surprisingly derelict for claims of such historical significance. I guess apathy of the govts has a large role to play.

It is must visit place if you visit Rameshwaram. As per Ramayana, lord Ram stayed here for while while he was searching for goddess Sita to Lanka. This temple has footprints of Ram and also murthy of Vibhishana. Some key points: • It is highest point in Rameshwaram. • You can see Gpouram top of Ranganatha Swamy temple from here. •View simply mesmerising with wind blowing. •There are local vendors selling fruits, snacks, local items etc is worth buying.

You can visit this temple, if you want to have a good view of the vicinity. Pujari seems greedy and instead of giving Ashirwad or enchanting Mantras... He was just asking about Dana, money and was displaying his Lobha. But a good view point from where you can see the entire Rameshwaram including Dhanushkodi.

This temple has footprints of Prabhu Shree Ram, hence the name. There is a small hillock on which the temple is located. From the top you also get beautiful view of Rameswaram. The legend is that this is alfo the Gandhamadana hill and the Gandhamadana teertha is locsted beneath this place. A must do place while in Rameswaram.

Religious place for hindus to see lord ramar footprint in the temple.many shops and juice centres available in the bottom of this temple. On top of it, one can see the entire rameswaram in 360° View. Good place to relax and 15 mints would be sufficient to cover this place. We can see the Ramana dar temple towers clearly form here

This is must visit temple after Arulmigu temple. They say this is the place from where Hanumanji took the first jump to get to Srilanka. There is a footprint of lord Ram there. From the roof of the temple you can see the magnificent view of Arulmigu temple.

The Epic place. Must visit once in life time. Feel the positive vibes. How difficult it would have been for Lord Rama to save Sita when there was no electrical, electronic and other facilities in those days.

Small temple in a hill and with few steps to climb. Significant place which has the footprints of Shri Ram. They do not allow photography inside the temple. But this place offers magnificent views of Rameswaram city. One can see 360 degree views and Main Rameswaram temple also can be seen from here. Its a great place to spend an hour and its very pleasant during sunset time. There are small shops outside for drinks and snacks.

A must visit if you are on a pilgrimage visit. 10 min car drive from Rameshwaram temple. However, disheartening to see that place has not been maintained properly and is yet to get it's due as an important historical place.

The temple has the footsteps of Lord Ram. The location is superb and the steps to the temple are huge the ones found in old forts. The sunset seen from the top of the temple is gorgeous and overall one gets a feeling of calmness and serenity.

Located at small hill top, this is also known as Ram Charan paduka. Photography is apparently not allowed inside temple so, it’s only allowed from outside. You need to walk up few steps to visit the temple up there. Reachable with Taxi or Auto. This place is one of the places to visit during your stay in Rameswaram.

Beautiful small temple and good vantage point to see Rameshwaram ... Go one floor above the temple to get a better view... Sunset time is the best... Parking is easy...

Ramar patham is very good spot in rameswaram. Try to go in early morning or evening. Other vice very hot in steps to the temple. We can remove our shoes at the end of the steps. A lot of shops are there fancy shops, tendercocunut shop, sugar cane juice shops Toy shops in the way of this temple. Parking is available down side. No parking fees . We drank tendercocunut cost of 50 rupees. Ramar Pathan means we can see the feet of Lord sreeram. It's inside metal plates. The Pooja Pandit is telling the story behind to the tourists. Good must visit spot in rameswaram.

When you are visiting Rameshwaram you will find yourself immense connection with the great Ramayana. It's really hard to describe the feelings in words when you visit a place which is known as Lord Rama himself once stood at. This place is also known as "Gandh Madhan Parvat". As per the Hindu history lord Rama first came to see Lanka and Lord Hanuman jumped from this place to Lanka in search of Sita maa. There is a footprint of lord Rama. We were lucky to visit this place on monsoon season. According to the locals in the clear weather you can see Sri Lanka's lights in the night. People are very friendly and welcoming. Near the temple you will find people selling mango, cucumber, pineapple. You must try these with little sprinkle of masala they put. Must visit place.

A 10-15 drive from the main temple this place is believed to be the place from where Hanuman took the leap towards Lanka... the foot impression of Hanuman is seen here... There are a few steps to climb here, you can also go on the terrace above the temple, you can get a wonderful scene all around the temple, beautiful view there is a lot of parking space available, do try the fresh pineapple / watermelon to keep yourself hydrated.

This nondescript temple on Gandhamadana Parbatam houses an impression of The feet of Bhagwan Ram. The view around is good. The temple itself is a disappointment.

Ramar padam is a small temple dedicated to lord rama and his foot steps presented here. It is situated on a slightly elevated space (parvat), the whole rameshwaram city looks amazing from here. Timings-6 am to 6 pm. It gets dark pretty early at this side of country, try to reach early in the evening. Small shops and market is nearby.

The temple is on a small hillock called Gandhamadhana Parvat. The divine feet of Ram is found here. It is the location where it is mentioned Hanuman ji went to Sri Lanka in search of Sita Mata. You can see nice views of Rameswaram from the hillock

Had not planned a visit but, it was an unexpected visit to Rama Patham. Felt very origin of the most historic places to visit in India, This place has well equally balanced stone plates the support the figurine of a building that gives History a new look. You can glance at the pictures that made my day. Plus point was able to capture a 61 year old Doordarshan TV broadcast channel started in 1965 which aired on (AIR) also known as ALL INDIA RADIO BY PRATIMA PURI. Her voice left an Iconic foot print for those who had experienced it.

Parking space is there and along with shopping stalls for fresh fruits and souvenirs l Ramar Patham is a historical significate place where Lord Rama and his army were resting and planning their journey to Sri Lanka. Photos are not allowed and be respectful to the place..amazing view from the top. You can see the Swamy temple from here.

View is good and that is the only good thing here. Super cool breeze and a good place to relax. Not a must visit if you don't have time on your hand. People claim that Rama stood here and decided to head towards Dhanushkodi to build Rama Sethu. Small temple and a foot print on a rock + no other idle.

An awesome vantage point view. This place is claimed to be where lord Rama and team did all their meetings and plannings

  • 3/5 JJ 3 years ago on Google
There are no actual footprints but just an indication of where they may have been. However, the view from the second level makes the trip worth it. Also, the place is died with little stores offering fruits and snacks and it's nice to just sit and watch the travelers pass by.
