Vibe of respect came inside us while visiting the tiny house now turned into museum of Honorable ex-president of India Mr. Abdul Kalam Azad. Born at a tiny village in a far island & becoming the great scientist plus president seemed not easy. We salute for earning a lot of respect & honor from millions of Indians.

Poorly maintained and great disappointment after seeing shopping place in second floor where they selling tourist and gift items. Which is like cheating, people bringing their kids teach and learn about kalam sir but these people running commercial shops instead of they can collect entry fees. Pros: Abdul Kalam and his simplicity Cons: no parking and basic amenities

Interesting and inspiring place to visit. This is the place where Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Sir lived in his younger years. The place is now converted to a museum where his belongings along with memorable photos, awards, degrees, etc. are kept. There is a gift shop on the second floor which doesn't go well with the theme. Also, finding a parking space is challenging.

The house was seen from a distance and the guide pushed us to kalam market or shopping mall saying that the house has been converted into market whereas truth being house and market are different. The market was though considerably priced and the crowd of people there showed that it is famous and popular among locals. Our guide helped us to do the shopping and billing reasons unknown for sudden kindness.

The house is a modest two-storey structure, made of mud and thatched roof. It has been preserved as a museum by the government of Tamil Nadu and is known as the "APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial". The museum has several exhibits related to Dr. Kalam's life, including photographs, books, and personal belongings. Visitors can explore the various sections of the museum, which include a reading room, a photo gallery, and a souvenir shop. The museum is open to the public from 10 am to 5 pm, and entry is free.

Dr. Abdul Kalam's House is conveniently situated near the renowned Rameswaram temple. Once a humble seaside abode, it has now been reconstructed into a splendid two-story building. The ground floor is occupied by Kalam's relatives, adding a personal touch to the visit. Prepare to be amazed as you step into the very place where the great Kalam sir was born. This extraordinary location fills us with immense pride for our nation and its exceptional leaders. Inside the house, you'll find two floors to explore. The first floor is a treasure trove of memorabilia, showcasing all the honors and milestones that Dr. Kalam achieved throughout his illustrious life. On the top floor, there's a delightful souvenir shop and a book store, perfect for picking up a memento or two. While you'll undoubtedly want to capture the memories, please note that photography is not permitted inside the house. To reach this remarkable destination, you'll need to navigate through a narrow lane off the main road, approximately one kilometer away from the Ramanathaswamy temple.

The House of Kalam in Rameswaram is the childhood home of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India and renowned scientist. It has been transformed into a museum showcasing his life, achievements, and contributions. Visitors can explore exhibits displaying his personal belongings, awards, and interactive displays about his work in space research and missile development. It's a tribute to one of India's most beloved leaders.

Very nice place to visit. You may know all about the honourable missile man of India APJ Abdul Kalam . Their books his work all things presented there in a sequence 👌🏻👌🏻 This place where Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was born 15th October 1931. In this house his elder brother APJM Marakayar (101) years old lives here with his family. This house is the place where Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, one the most popular president of India and one of the greatest scientists that India has even produced, had lived as a child. He was raised along with his brother here, by parents Jainulabdeen, who was a boat owner and Ashiamma, his mother. Popularly known as Kalam house, it is place worth visiting during a Rameshwaram Tour. Initially a place where he had spent his childhood, this house was converted into a museum in 2011. Maintained by his elder brother Mohammed Muthu Meera Lebbai Maraicker, this museum presents a glimpse into the life of one of India’s greatest leader Former President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, an insight into his childhood and his various achievements. Inside the house, one can see an array of photographs showing late president’s childhood and early stages of his life. The collections at the house, which has been arranged in a manner to offer a glimpse into his life, offer a lot of information about the Late President Dr. APJ Kalam. There are medals, awards, photographs of his childhood days as well as his research works at the museum. One can also find materials that display his highly valued contribution to defense development and researches. At the ground floor of the Kalam house, there is small shop from where visitors can buy handmade souvenirs and various kinds of sea shell items. The second floor of the house has been converted into an art gallery. The museum is housed on the first floor of the building. Thank you 🙏🏻 For any other queries please ask your questions I will reply as soon as possible 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Sir APJ Abdul Kalam's house is renovated by the government but it still holds the same structure. The museum contains so many books and life stories and achievements of Sir APJ Abdul Kalam. It also has a uniform which was worn by him. The top floor contains a souvenir shop which has so many items at a very reasonable rate. You can find toys, artificial jewellery, books, show pieces and a lot more. One must visit this place if you are going to rameswaram. It is very near to the railway station.

It's a really nice experience to come here and know more about him closely. Children should be brought here, it can be very informative and wonderful for them. The first floor is totally dedicated to APJ Abdul Kalam Sir but there is a shopping area on the second floor which I really don't like.

Blessed to visit APJ Sirs house. In fact the public has no entry to house. We have entry to the museum on the first floor and a souvenir shop on the second floor only...

A great place to be at. You can feel the pride emanating from his house when standing near it. It gives us all Indians a sense of pride and morality. Kalam was a man of great inspiration to all of us. Give respect and go to his house when you visit Rameshwaram. There is also a shop on top of the house, be sure to pick up a memorial, or gifts for loved ones. But, the displays are very hard to read, and the photos are hard to look at as they are very high up. There are no washrooms, only drinking water, and there are no other places around it that have the same facility.

Connecting road to Dr. Kalam home was in pathetic condition, shame for state government. Usual small town roads and locality are in better condition. May be state government is only keen to spend on church & mosques but won't give respect to real son of India.

Once you enter the place you will find a connection, it was something amazing. We went on monday so it was not that crowdy and the guard was very helpful. On the first floor you will see the a collection of Kalam Sir's quotes. And as explore more you will find how brilliant kalam sir was, you will see a wall full of many many certificates and multiple doctrate degree obtained by sir. There is a podium on which you will see the bharat ratna, padma vibhushan and padamshree awards received by sir. When i saw the "Bharat Ratna" i got goosebumps. You will see many things which will make you feel how brilliant kalam sir was. On the second floor you can buy souvenir and some very good stuff. So conclude I would say you must visit this place. There is no entry ticket. Worth a visit.

The place where once the missile man of India had lived now named as House of Kalam. A small house now decorated with all his achievements, citations, uniforms, medals, books and other artifacts. Well maintained and always full of visitors, the second floor is actually converted into a shopping area and well marketed using his name. We went there while visiting rameswaram, a visit would definitely cause a surge of passion when we get to know the depth of his greatness personally. Also there is another place neatly maintained with a beautiful garden by DRDO named as Dr Abdul Kalam Memorial.

This place where Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was born 15th October 1931. In this house his elder brother APJM Marakayar (101) years old lives here with his family. This museum of our former president, a great scientist and a fine human being shows you his journey from a small town of rameshwaram through his earlier days as scientist and DRDO chief and later president of India. On first floor, a picture gallery depicting simple life of exPresident of India describes the greatness of man. It takes 30-45 minutes to go through the place but a must to visit. Walking distance from Beach road or main temple. Do not get carried away by the same surname shops as they are no way connected to the Great Man.

It was an awesome experience. It is not as grand you think. If you come here you don't think this as a one of our president's house 🏡,this is actually a normal house where his achievements, photos, models, drawings are there here. This is totally awesome. In the down of house A P J Abdul Kalam's Elder brother & His son's are living there. The above part of the house has Some shops inside such as ornaments. Maximum made up of pearls and pendants. And certain books. Near the house his brother's Shop is there where the sell ornaments made up of pearls , and normal ornaments. It's totally awesome and free. If you come to Rameshwaram. You should definitely visit here. If you miss it in case if you can't come back once more. If you come At the corona period you have to use mask inside the house and you be safe and wear mask. 😊😊😊😷

A simple house where our President once lived and spent his childhood. I was privileged to see the Air Force suit Dr APJ Kalam used when flying in the Sukhoi. For the first time in my life I also got to see in his house museum the prestigious Bharat Ratna medal, The Padmabhushan medal and several other medals and awards he received through his life time. Many photographs adorn the rooms and the house. A must see place while at Rameshwaram to know from such humble beginnings we had a great mind with a great heart who became the President of our great country. Many of his poems adorn the room and the write on his mother touched me. Parking is available and rest rooms are there too. Photography is strictly prohibited. Please visit once atleast.

India’s most loved president APJ Abdul Kalam was from Rameshwaram and for me it was an eye opener to visit this little Museum  that documents his illustrious life quite beautifully. The house in which he lived in growing up is located in the Mosque Street. The house is now converted into a museum and has photographs, certificates, doctorates, honours and awards showcasing his life right from his childhood days. All his scholarly works are also documented here. The two storied building is maintained by his elder brother and the collections here have been arranged in a methodical fashion. All the medals and awards he has earned as well as his research work is on display in the museum. The ground floor you will find a small shop where you can buy handmade souvenirs and sea shells a speciality here.

A good museum inside the house describes his life moments. Also there's a sea shell shop at the top floor of house, but a little bit expensive than the nearby sea shell shop.

Tears rolled on when visited the memorial of Dr Kalam. Its really a temple of living god of this era. The place is well maintained by DRDO with full of flowers and garden. The wax museum is very interesting to watch. The images of George bush, Obama and Dr Kalam with his missile mission is very natural. A must visited tourist spot for children, students.

Another place worth visiting in Rameshwaram is his house where he grew up. It has been converted into a museum. It is located in a small lane and has various memorabilia related to him. There is a lovely collection of cards made by school children across the country for him. Upper floor has a sovereign shop where you can buy books and figurines.

Yes, situated in a small lane named mosque street this house contains the memories of Kalam, where he brought up by his poor parents. House of Kalam is the destination must visit to feel proud of if you in Rameswaram. This is the ancestors house of India's most loved president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. This place is the birth place of Dr. Kalam. House of Kalam is around 1km from Rameshwaram Jyotirling temple. To reach here you need to navigate through narrow roads. This place is currently 3 storey building where the ground floor is owned by Dr. Kalam's relatives and at the first floor you can see the great achievement made by Dr. Kalam, here many awards, recommendations & recognition certificate on name of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam are kept for public to see and take great inspiration. Books are also available here to purchase. But the very disappointing thing is at second floor where they are running a gift shop. This should not be here. This place shouldn't be commercialized in this way. Photography is not allowed inside this place. Mobiles are allowed inside but need to switch off or silent. Atmosphere is so quite here. Must visit and feel proud to see the achievements of a simple man from Rameshwaram Island. There is no entry fees at this place. Need to take off your shoes outside the house on the street only. Parking is also could be an issue here.

The place is very well maintained although there is no entry fee. Backpacks and camera are not allowed inside, but one can carry mobile which has to be switched off. The memorial is very organized with hundreds of photographs framed and walled depicting the work of the great leader and scientist.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's house is a must-visit, offering a truly inspirational journey through his life. The display of awards, books, and poems provides deep insights into his remarkable achievements and literary contributions. The genuine souvenir shop on the top floor is a thoughtful addition. What's truly commendable is that it's free for all – no tickets or money required, making this experience accessible to everyone. Highly recommended for those seeking inspiration and a closer look into the life of this extraordinary individual.
