Good one and I would say must visit everyone in their lifetime... Recommended to go on your transport. Public transport is available but not often... Don't carry use & throw plastic things, there is a check post to check and give a token of 20rs for each item and you can claim while returning but it is time-consuming... Recommend to visit during sunrise and it is pleasant to watch... A lot of parking spaces are available you can park and enjoy the views😍... For a better peaceful environment, visit during weekdays...😊 During weekends, I encountered around 80 to 100 vehicles at 5.45 am...🥹 P.S: Please don't throw any waste there especially non-degradable, I can see a lot of plastics and broken bottles. I don't want you to clean it(if u do, great) but don't contribute towards the dump.

You will see both Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean here.A cyclone destroyed the entire city in 1964 & city shifted to current Rameshwaram..at present there is a beautiful road in between the sea..the most beautiful place of India..

This is considered as India’s last road. We visited during evening time and enjoyed mesmerising sunset. If you have time try to go early in the morning, you will get less crowd. Also it closes around at 6 or 7 pm in evening.

Dhanushkodi is the closest point of India to Sri Lanka. It is where the Bay of Bengal meets the Indian Ocean. There is not much more than beautiful sand and blue sea but what more do you need from a beach location? It is said that Lord Rama, Lord Hanuman, and his army built the ‘’Setu” bridge to Lanka. After cyclone destruction in the 60’s, the small town of Dhanushkodi was abandoned but that has never deterred people who want to enjoy the lovely sands and picturesque views of the deep south.

Dhanushkodi, used to be one of the famous tourist spots with it's beaches, church, temples etc but after the cyclone hit the island in 1964, it completely ruined the island and people were devastated and had to leave. . After the cyclone, few bits and pieces of the church are left out. Few years later, people started visiting the island and some tourists were taking away the bricks from the remains. After so much of struggle from the locals, now the government have put up a banner stating "No one has the rights to break this stones, this is an offence and punishable". . Fifty five years have passed since the cyclone, it is slowly regaining it's popularity and tourists. During the visit one can still feel the history like what happened during the storm.....

Recently built road in the sea. Will take us nearer to the Srilanka. Gigantic Indian flag mark the End of Indian Land. Beach access with restrictions. Sea food lovers can get varieties. Must visit along with Rameswaram temple tour. Can spot and visit old temple, post office, church and Railway station in Dhanushkodi.

Surreal experience driving down the road from Rameshwaram town till Arichal Munai! The road is a strip of land sandwiched between the raging waters of the Bay of Bengal. Parking can be a problem at the end of this point.

A beautiful highway road connecting the main town of Rameshwaram to the sandy ghost town of Dhanushkodi. The road is excellent and scenic with Indian Ocean on one side and Gulf of Mannar on another side. The sides of roads are sandy patches of beach with proper rock barricades for high waves. You can park your vehicle for lovely clicks

Dhanushkodi Beach is a very beautiful beach in the Tamil Naidu or the Dhanushkodi Beach is also known as a Ghost Town and the best time for visit Dhanushkodi Beach is September to April or opening or closing time of the Dhanushkodi Beach is 12:00 am – 12:00 pm (Daily). Dhanushkodi Beach is best place for kids because the kids have fun at beach by playing around the beach and enjoy building sand castles. Here we are describe some famous place around the Dhanushkodi Beach is broken Railway station, Ram Seth, water tank, Church, post office and also temples. We can get best quality food and with the reasonable price at Marwadi Bojanalays and Gujarat Bhavan’s is providing traditional Gujarati dishes. Dhanushkodi, in my point of view, is an enchanting destination that offers a mesmerizing blend of history, spirituality, and natural beauty. As I stood at the tip of this ghost town, I was captivated by the remnants of its glorious past. The dilapidated buildings and the rusted remains of the railway station spoke volumes about the devastating cyclone that once swept through this place. It was both haunting and awe-inspiring to witness the resilience of nature amidst the ruins. The pristine beaches of Dhanushkodi added a touch of serenity to my experience. The turquoise blue waters and the soft, golden sand created a picturesque setting that was hard to resist. I found solace in taking long walks along the shoreline, with the gentle breeze caressing my face. The sight of fishermen going about their daily routines, surrounded by the breathtaking backdrop of the Bay of Bengal, left an indelible impression on my mind. Overall, Dhanushkodi is a hidden gem that transports you to a bygone era. Its historical significance, coupled with the ethereal beauty of its surroundings, make it a must-visit destination for those seeking a unique and soul-stirring experience.
