This was an incredible experience. A man with a passion of collecting shells from all over the world since so many years and still continuing to do this is incredible. The sea shell museum is built to showcase different types of sea shells from different countries collected by one man. The museum is beautifully built with a decor of sea shells all over. There is also a dinosaur park and a store where you will get a lot of handicraft products.

After that u one can enjoy on seeing show items in Mineral Museum. Fish 🐠 Aquarium stall will attracts more by seeing different types of fishes here. Fish 🐟 spa is good. Final and greatest in the museum is Dinosaur 🦕 park, especially children will enjoy more by the moments and sound effects of artificial dinosaurs 🦖.

An awesome exhibit of Sea shells, countless varieties with cross sections and explanations. I think it is the biggest collection in India. Also have collections of Pearls, Minerals (Rocks) etc. Don't buy individual tickets, just buy the Combo ticket and visit all sections, it is definitely worth the money you are paying. Children would definitely love the Motion Dinosaurs Park and the Aquarium.

The best sea shell collections are available here. It will be very useful for students who are interested on sea shells. Lots of unseen and rare collections of shells are available here. Need some attention on dinosaur exhibition. Well maintained. Need to improve the refreshments availability. Need to improve the parking facility.

Nice place. Very well maintained. Worth the combo ticket 300 for all attractions. The art work done using sea shells is superb. Dinosaur replicas are very well done. The pearls and minerals museum too Is huge and contains a variety of items on display. Kudos to the conceiver of this place and staff who have maintained it very well. Ticket payment can be done by cash , card. Has sufficient parking. In the end there is a stall where shells and pearls can be brought. In the end has a I love Mahabalipuram plaque and can be memorable for taking pics

Must visit place at least once to appreciate the efforts they put instead of keep praising the abroad museum. This museum has 4 parts inside with the entry fee of ₹300/- together. Mineral Museum - where you can see great Singapore inspired themes like Merlion, Gardens by the bay statues made out of shell also with other sea creatures statues with excellent lighting - first time goers will be surprised for sure. Mineral displays are not that great as some of the minerals are clearly looks like painted ones with brush marks 😩 at least to my eyes! Seashell Museum - lots of shells are displayed from micro to mega sizes. One drawback is that most of the shells displayed are from south East Asian countries and few from other regions. Mamalla Fish Aquarium - Very average aquarium not that great to inspire or attract visitors. At least I liked eels. Pearl Museum - great collections of pearls of various sizes, colours and shapes with excellent outdoor entrance but the entry door can be better. Dinosaur 🦕 Museum - The main point of attraction on this spot. Lots of efforts behind this museum which definitely visitors should appreciate and help to maintain. Great collection of artificial dinosaurs with tail, hand and head moments along with the voices are really cool to experience. 💯 % Kids love guaranteed. The worst part which I personally don’t like is the behaviour of the visitors spoiling the statues by holding the moving parts and damaging the displays are really paining. As the same people’s will obey the rules in abroad but failed to follow in our own nation.

Went to Mineral Museum, it's one of the parts of India Shell Museum. Parking 🅿️ space: Available ✔️ 🆓 Rest room: Available ✔️(clean) A snacks shop: Available ✔️ (not tried anything) Shops selling original pearls: Available ✔️ Time spent: 1-2 hours depending on one's interest and visits. I have not explored the whole museum. I found the ticket price a bit high since it's not that big. Not up to the mark but the experience was okay. Since the price of the ticket should be reasonable. Even though, it's a good place to go with kids.

This place is undoubtedly one of the best places in Mamallapuram. It's an effort of one man named Raja Mohamed portraying his life time work of collecting wide varieties of Sea Shells from all around the world 🗺. This place has the following sites located within, 1. Mineral Museum. - Various earthly mineral specimens are placed for display along with some miniatures of well knows themes around the world like Singapores 2. Sea Shell Museum. - The main theme - Collection of more than 40,000 Sea Shells & Marine fossils from various places around the world. 3. Mamalla Fish 🐠 World. - Fresh & Marine fish display. 4. Nazara Dinosaurs Museum - Previously called as Dino World - Is a theme park for kids has realistic prototypes of various dinosauraus 🦕. 5. 3D Art Gallery - 3D Art painted on the walls, good for photos. Located within Dino world. You have to pay separately for this doesn't come with combo ticket 🎫. 6. Pearl Museum - Has collection of Natural & Cultured pearls of various shapes sizes and colors. 7. Maya Bazaar - The Retail Store which sells all the Decorative items made out of Sea shells 🐚 and has fancy jewelery along with Pearl Jewellers collection for the visitors to buy. 8. VR & Gaming Center - Seperate ticket to experience VR for 15 Mins and Gaming for kids similar to Mall. A single entry 🎟 ticket combo for Rs.300/- covers all the places (except 3D Art Museum, VR & Gaming center) and visitors has to pay Rs.100/- seperately for Camera Ticket, usually one ticket is enough for a family 👪 /group. Overall one can spend around 4 to 6 hours inside this premises spending time along with family 👪 and friends.

I love SEASHELLS AND BEACHES. I was not aware of it but while in mahabalipuram got to know about it. This place has many things to enjoy with family but my only interest was into Seashells, they got a fantastic collection of them from across the world some which I haven't even seen in my lifetime. Must visit place if one has interest in nature's creation preserved nicely out here

All seashells was collected and some are imported by single person. In one place you can see pearls, seashells, dinosaurs and others. You can also have Fish feeding and fish massage in the museum. Interior and architecture was awesome and attractive. Dinosaurs park was amazing and unexpected. Sounds and moments of dinosaurs make us to feel real. Parking area is also spacious. Great collection of shells and rock stones. The fish museum had a good collection and the attendant explain each exhibit very nicely. The place was a bit congested and low on maintenance but we enjoyed it because of the way the person explained the fishes. The dino museum was fun because the exhibits were robotic. It was fun for us even though it was raining cats and dogs.

One of the must visit places in mahabalipuram. Perfect spot for all age people. They charge Rs.300/- per head as a special combo offer. Huge collection of minerals, rock stones, shells, pearl oysters are available. The staff in each and every museum was so informative and we can gain knowledge from them. Fish aquarium has fish pedicure and few collection of rare species fishes. Kids were so so excited in Dino park and horror museum. Overall worthy place to spend our time with family and friends.

Absolute five star experience. Sure there a few short comings, but this is a fantastic place to be and learn. The dinosaur museum is a part of the India seashell museum complex. Don't be confused. They're in the same building and entry can be purchased together too. The museum itself has several sections 1. An artistic museum interpretation of an ocean with shell fish, and a display of rare mineral stones. 2. An elaborate shellfish display 3. A fishing museum 4. A live fish gallery with very nice collection that included eels, sharks and puffer fish. 5. The highlight - almost life sized dinosaur display (not very accurate) with moving parts and realistic sounds. The animatronics are a treat for children of all ages and is a must see in Mahabalipuram. 6. A 3d art exhibit for the shutter bug in you. And all at a very affordable rate. Absolutely worth every penny. Decently maintained. You can also purchase pearls and refreshments inside. Timings - 8 am to 8 pm. Duration for all exhibita - one hour. Plan accordingly.

This is an awesome place to visit. So many shells & pearls to see. Also the attender in that place is well educated about the marine life & doesn't hesitate to explain everything. The pearl museum was extraordinary, so many types & shapes of pearls to look at. One can't see such a display anywhere in Asia. This is one of the biggest Shell museum in ASIA. Don't miss it

What can one do with shells you could ask? You won’t believe your eyes when you enter this museum!! What a fabulous display of passion, innovation and art! When we saw the hoarding from the road, we were sceptical about the place. But every display is a work of meticulous planning and flawless execution! The place was one man’s collection of shells. Raja Mohammed inspires us all with his perseverance (he was inspired by APJ Abdul Kalam to build a museum like this - no doubt). Be there to witness the magic. You can really spend a couple of hours if you are in hurry or up to 4 hours.

An entertaining diversion for adults and children alike. There are multiple "museums" on location, and you can buy a ticket for any one for ₹100, or pay ₹300 for a combo ticket. I recommend the combo. You'll pay ₹100 for all your cameras together. Be sure to have a few hours at your disposal, to wander around at leisure. The animatronic dinosaurs are fun. The shell collections are intriguing once you really start looking. The aquarium is a letdown, but the pearl museum makes up for it. The mineral museum is interesting, but could be better, with better lighting (there's a green tint to the light which skews the mineral colours) and good use of spotlights. Overall, a good location for the family, however the only letdown is that the place needs a regular dusting, and some maintenance. Failure of that, will lead to a bad future experience, the beginnings of which can be seen already - that's why the one star reduction. I hope that they pick up their feet and keep the exhibits tidy, organised, dust free, and in good working order.

It's a must visit place in Mahabalipuram, located in near to the statue beach (2 kms). If you are visiting Mamallapuram statues then you can visit this place easily. It is open till 8pm. Overall 200 rupees can be an idle price. They are giving combo offer ticket price as 300(still too much). I felt the entry fee is somewhat pricy. Seashell measuem - 100 Mineral measuem - 100 Pearl measuem - 50 Fish aquarium - 50 Dianosur park - 200 (too much) Combo -300. + For mobile camera - 100 rupees extra, DSLR/Camcorder -250 rupees. Above 5 years kids - ticket is must. Mineral measuem - we can start from here, when you get into this, you can find some artificial bird sounds, and find some koi fishes in the water. You can feed them for 10 rupees. It was decorated with full of shells. Lot of rare shells were showcased. Seashell measuem- it has lot of shell varieties. Some of them were collected from Rameshwaram and some were from other countries. Fish aquarium - 10-15 fish tanks were available and please don't imagine more than that by reading its name 😛. You need to spend 100 rupees for fish massage( if you are interested) Pearl measuem - very small area similar to fish aquarium. You can find some beautiful pearls here. Dianosur park - artificial Dianosur with some sound effects. If you have kids, they will definitely enjoy it. Restrooms and quick bites are available inside premises. There is a shop inside the campus where we buy some seashells, pearls etc. Parking# no dedicated parking, we can park the vehicle just to their entrance, very limited I guess. Overall we got a very good experience here!!!

Museum has 3 parts. 1. Seashell, 2. Pearl, 3. Fish. The seashell and pearl museum are good. We can see rare piece(very old) of shell and pearl. Fish museum is a normal one. When entering to fish museum, there a lady to suggest the visitors to take lobster from the water. Mostly all the visitors are trying this. There is one place for virtual world. For this they are charging Rs.50 per head. Virtual effects really nice. And one more place for horror home. That we can see in every malls. Cost: I have chosen combo pack (that includes all 3 museum). The price for combo pack is Rs.150 per head. Additional : Rs. 100 for camera.

I never knew that we have a museum for seashells, but I am so glad to see this. Still in maintenance perspective I am expecting more from my point of view. But still am giving salute for this person who spent his entire life in collecting the shells. Almost 40000 shells is really great to see... I never seen this, we can see so many varieties of shells ? here... It is good for children, family, couples and almost everyone.

Accidentally we went to this place. The ticket price was Rs 200/-, if we choose to see all the four museums. I was wondering why so much. Just after entering the first museum we realized that it is really worth it. We spent a couple of hours. It was really worth it. Looks like this is the first seashell museum in India.

Not really worth a visit except the fact that it is the only Sea Shell museum in India. Has a variety of seashells but if it doesn't excite you - you can skip it as well. The entrance is quite steep at Rs. 200 for entrance (full entrance fee for Children over 5 years) + additional Rs. 100 for mobile camera or regular camera. Btw, it is a small place - has a artificial water world place, pearl museum, sea shell museum and a really small aquarium. There is a 3D museum and some dinosaur park that is getting built it looks like. Mark this review as useful if this information helped you.

A must go place if you are visiting Mamallapulam/Mahabalipuram. The museum is privately owned and now there are 5 different museums put into one place. The main attractions are the Sea Shells and the Pearl museum of course. The owners have left no stones unturned to make it an ideal destination for all age groups, ranging from kids to casual tourists to maritime enthusiasts and also people looking for some casual pearl shopping. So, there is a small Dinosaur park, a foot spa along with an aquarium named Mamalla Fish World, and a set of huge and awesome Sea Shell sculptures which they named as Mini Asia (which also neatly includes a small Minerals museum, you would love to see). Aslo, they did not forget to a add a quick shopping destination, named Maya Bazar, all within the same complex. The owner is a very humble person and chance are you can meet him (or his son) as well for a quick chat 😊. It is unbelievable to think a single person has created such a huge collection. He is very passionate to talk about it. The mind blowing collection of vast number of Sea Shells and pearls will surely struck awe. The items are maintained very methodically, with well written descriptions. The collection literally spans all over the world 😳. The collection of pearls are also vast. Entry felt a bit expensive. There are different options to buy tickets for only Sea Shell and Pearl museum, or all of the 5 places together. Rest rooms and toilets are well maintained. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful place. The kids will surely love it. This is a must visit place if you are in mahabs. It's very close to the mahab sculptures. Look for Dinosaur museum on Google maps and it'll take you there. There are a total of 5 museums, one game world, a bazaar of many items made with items seen in the museum for sale, one reality show inside along with canteen facility, clean restrooms and comfy benches everywhere to rest. The architecture of this place is so beautiful. Very well planned and built. The entry fee in total for all the museums together is 500/- but you can also get it at a consolidated price of 300/- as a combo offer. No entry fee for children below 5yrs. Lots of spots to click lovely pics and make your trip memorable. The different museums inside are - 1. Mini Asia museum 2. Shell museum (excellent collection) 3. Pearl museum (beautiful and lovely collection) 4. Fish aquarium 5. Dinosaur museum We really loved our visit here and would definitely recommend anyone to go here without fail, especially those with children.

Beautiful place, it is not only seashell but a great information of it's owner who has his lifelong passion to collect these. There is fee to enter as it is a private property. It has multiple other themes apart from Seashells and creation of its collection, it has pearls, dinosaurs, fish aquarium (that is really fascinating) etc. This is at walking distance of panch rathas and back side of lighthouse. Every child as well as adult will like this. You can cover everything here in around 60 - 75 minutes. Rs. 300/- is the per head entry fee for all the themes (called as combo).

Seashell museum I have my first time visiting to India seashell museum. First of all it includes almost 5 different types of museum like pearl museum, dinosaur theme park, mineral park, marine fish park, which cost about 300 per person. If you are planning to visit the museum you should have sufficient time to explore all the things. Dinosaur park is very good for children.......... You can also eat food inside the museum corridor...

This place is designed for kids. Better to buy only dinosaur exhibit ticket as other are ok kind. If you like shells, pearl then you can add those exhibit too. But mineral and aquarium definitely a skip. They have other exhibits which we need to pay for VR games, arcade zone, scary house and bull. The bull was 100 rs on pricey side. They have a small cafe for water and snacks. Restrooms are decent. Dinosaur exhibit: The dinosaur had movement and sound which was good kids enjoyed it. They had a big collection, setup was good. Shell museum: they had different size and shapes of shell collected was in displace. This place had ac which is good for the weather. Pearl museum: different size and shapes of pearls a small place. Mineral museum: they made some of the places in Singapore replica type here, light was low to capture the pictures. Different types of minerals where on display. Aquarium: it was in the size of the aquarium where they sell the fish and not much new fishes.

This place is perfect for hanging out with your little ones and getting them all curious. They've got an awesome collection of sea shells and pearls. But the real star of the show is the Dino museum, where you'll come across super realistic dinosaur figurines with lifelike movements. The shell display was absolutely fascinating. The owner has gone above and beyond to create this incredible collection. I was seriously amazed! You can totally skip the fish aquarium. The pearl museum, on the other hand, is a goldmine of knowledge about how pearls are made. Overall, it's an absolutely fantastic place for families. It's not just fun, but also an educational experience.

It was a great experience to visit the seashell museum, many varieties of seashells are available in the museum. Minerals museum is also good, I felt few minerals are not actual minerals it's just colour coted/painted. Fish aquarium is also satisfied, it has limited variety of fishes. Pearl museum is good, many of the pearls are replica of original ones. Dinosaur park is superb and many dinosaurs are moving and making sounds like dinosaurs. This museum has 5 different types of museums, which are having different charges per each, if we want to see all 5, then the cost will be 500 per person, and 100rs to carry our own mobiles and take pictures under museum. There was a store also available where we can find shell for sale, if anyone interested in collecting the shells, it's a best place to buy. Few jewelleries also available under this store. We had a nice tea in tea stall inside the museum. Overall you will be satisfied with the visit and for the ticket amount.

Nice place to visit with friends and family You can completely visit the entire place in 2 hours itself. But ticket price was 300rs for all the 5 then for mobile camera photos we have to pay 100rs. I felt ticket price was little high. Because museum is small only. But the collection was good. We have experience it atleast once.

So many beautiful seashells from all around the world. Very impressive to learn about the variety and history of seashell. In addition, I found it fascinating to explore how a pearl is created. Great experience. Thank you.

Must visit place. They've huge variety of sea shells. From very small to very big and rare ones also. Pearl museum is also very nice. They have shop inside. You get few good items there including pearls at affordable prices

This place is worth a visit as you get to see a beautiful large collection of sea shells. Shells collection includes shells from all around the globe. There is small fish aquarium which will amuse small kidsThen there is a Pearl Museum within the same premises and it has a good number of specimen to amaze you with regards to shape, size, appearance and origin of pearls. This little gem is a part of complex that features Pearl Museum and Aquarium. Museum showcases all types of shells from all over the world. All are labeled by Latin name, and also states the abundance: from common to extremely rare (and there are indeed few VERY RARE specimen!!) Inside, museum is a bit run-down, but it is air-conditioned! Photos are allowed. Pearl museum is small, but has some interesting history and examples of both artificial and natural pearls. In a middle of my visit funny thing happened: there was a power outage for about 10 minutes, so the museum attendant used his cell phone to light up exhibits for me! Aquarium is primitive and not really well-organized, but again has few interesting fishes (including crocodile fish). If you choose to skip one thing I would say skip aquarium: there are hundreds of exceptional

Best place to visit once and spend 3 to 4 hours here. But felt ticket cost is bit higher. Fish aquarium is not worth visiting here. All these shells were collected by one man, see the photo I added about him.

The place was very pretty with surely the most amount of shells I have ever seen. It also includes an aquarium which is Indian's only touch and feel, fish aquarium. The Pearl collection they have is also very beautiful and a must see. There is a virtual reality gaming zone as well.

Very nice place. The areas are 1) a museum of shells 2) An aquarium 3) A museum for pearls 4) A shop for purchase of shells, pearls and souvenirs 5) animatronic dinosaur park 6) a 3D trick art picture gallery and 7) Scary house Cost is 150/- for a combo of 3 areas. You get a complimentary 5% discount coupon to be used in that shop. 100 ₹ for dinosaur park. The collective is vast and shows the creator's love and his struggle to being everything under one roof.

If you really love the seashells then this would be the heave for them. They have separate entry tickets for Museum, Bazaar, Fish museum and VR world. The entry combo except VR is Rs.150 for adult. The collections in the seashell museum is awesome and you can see millions year old seashells and different varieties of seashells which even we can't imagine. Fish museum is not that much unique and you can see the basic fish types over there. But their you can get Fish foot therapy. If you want to buy seashells for house decors or real Pearl you can buy in the Bazaar inside in affordable rate.

A good place to learn about shells if you are in the area. Other than the shell museum and possibly pearls museum the other ones were not very interesting. We saw a dead fish in the aquarium and some empty tanks, which is sad. They charge an extra Rs 100 for using your cell phone camera which seems excessive. The combo tickets for all the museums is Rs 200.

First of all it's a PRIVATE MUSEUM and entrance fee is INR 200.00 for one person and INR 100 separately for taking photographs. It has no relation to Pallava heritage and no historical significance. It resembles a mini theme park. NOTE: It is not opposite to Five Rathas as advertised, we need to walk about 200 meters and cross a road to get in there. Take this into cosideration. This place consists of 5 galleries: 1. Mini Asia museum Contains man-made statutes and attractions made out of shell. No proper lighting or airflow. worst among the galleries. 2. Mineral museum It is located inside mini Asia gallery, so I'm not sure in counting it as a separate gallery. Contains variety of mineral cutting in a small tunnel like structure. Surprisingly this place is well lit and air-conditioned so there is no claustrophobic feeling. You wonder at the minerals at display but there's no proper labelling. If you're not into minerals, it's advised to skip these two sections. 3. Seashell museum It's the main attraction to this place and proves in it all aspects. The place is filled with natural light yet complemented with gallery lighting. As for aeration is gallery is well ventilated with proper air-conditioning. So, it feels nice to be in here. This place will surprise you no matter whether you're into shells or not. It is worth visiting for. And it has won Best Museum award in 2018 for this gallery. 4. Mamalla fish world I would call it as a scam as there is very minimum amount of fishes in here and the place is very congested. Moreover the tanks are situated very low that an average adult has to bent to see them. They offer fish spa with charge of 100/- here. Better to avoid. 5. Perl Museum Another gem in the block is the Perl Museum. Though it is quite small it makes us feel pampered. It has a large collection of pearls which are soothing to the eyes. The keeper in this gallery is eager in explaining the details to the visitors and that is really a neat touch and encourage us to pay more attention to the exhibits. Apart from these galleries they have a neat washrooms, food stall, VR mall(with free demo) and a big shop with shell & pearl ornaments and other items.

Overly priced and entire Museum is opened for money minting. The entire museum is not even worth 100 rupees. Better to avoid instead of dissatisfaction. Bad thing is they are charging 100 for camera as extra. Really pathetic. Aquarium is less than 500sq feet and approximately 30 kinds of fishes are there which are very native breeds. 100 rupees for visiting those small aquarium is unacceptable. Waste of time money and energy.

Excellent place. Good for all age people. Especially the Mini Asia hall is artistically very good. Dinosaur park is another attraction. Pearl Museum and aquarium all good. Decent maintenance. Cost is Rs 300 a limiting factor for most facilities.

  • 4/5 Harun P. 2 years ago on Google
Very nice shell collections from all over the world showcased here. The kids loved the dinosaur park with dinosaurs moving with sound. The pearl museum was great. Cons: 1. The photos don't come out well in the museum as the lighting is not setup properly. 2. Apart from the combo ticket for Rs 300 which includes 5 museums, there are other entertainments like horror house etc, which need to be paid at their doors separately.

One of its kind Seashell Museum located in the most popular Tourist attraction Mahabalipuram. The collection of the seashells is claimed to be a Single Man's efforts. Unbelievable range of seashells on display for the visitors to be amused. The premises also hosts multiple other displays like Pearl Museum, DinoPark, Mineral Museum & Fish Aquarium for the tourists. Entrance ticket may be bought separately for each museum depending on interest. The Fee ranges from ₹50 - ₹100. However there are combo packages where ₹300 ticket permits an individual for 4-5 museums in the premises. Suitable place for families, enthusiasts, kids for a knowledge filled visit.

Very Good place to visit. Pearl museum with different type pearls. Sea shell museum is having different shells to see. Mineral museum etc also good. Dinosaur park and horror place are average. Mayabazar is inside this place, you can purchase some items made of sea shell and pearl.

Good for a visit. Amazing collection of seashells, pearls and a wealth of information. The ticket price is 300 for almost all entries inside. There are a few that needs separate ticket. Camera charges 100. They know visitors will take pictures so just another way of making money for them. They should just remove this additional charge. There is a store called Maya bazar inside the museum, expensive as expected.

It was a fantastic experience. You can spend quality 2-3 hours with family, especially kids. Dino park is the point of attraction. The museum is operating till 8pm. If you visit the museum at weekends, I suggest buying food and snacks from outside. The canteen is small and takes too much time to deliver, if crowded. Otherwise ok.

  • 4/5 Nimish M. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing collections of shells. Good dinosaur museum, kids will enjoy. Expensive entry ticket, also paying extra for photography is not needed as everyone clicks photographs. Really bad cafe inside. Not enough people to take order, clean and serve. ACs weren't functioning in halls.

One of the best place to visit with your family. Per head 300 rupees for combo or we can buy the tickets separately. We can see different types and sizes of shell around the world in a single place. Also, we can buy the original pearl in the shops. Snacks are available inside the premises were OK. Dinosaur museum is good and it entertains the kids well. Best place to spend 2 to 3 hrs.

This sea shell museum has a collection of 30,000 shells collected across the globe, spread over 700+ species. It has been collected by one person over the past 33 years. It seems it's the second biggest sea shell museum in the world based on number shells in one place. The shells of the same species are displayed together and most of them have intricate designs with different sizes. They charge Rs 100 per person and worth visiting to see the wide variety on display. Mr Syed, the person in charge, is very knowledgeable and was ready to answer any queries we had.

  • 4/5 Ravindran M. 7 months ago on Google
A great place to spend time with your kids and show them around to learn about shells. Numerous shells were on display a great effort by the owner. really stunned by the collection. Fish/ aquarium is not upto the mark - it just seems name sake within the premises. could have been better. Pearl museum was good knowledge on how pearl is obtained. Food - taste is average - 99% of the product in menu is ready made product. no complaints in such atmosphere but could have been better with more seating and clean arrangements. Tea was bad - it was not hot and had lot of sugar for a normal tea. The best of the place was dinosaur park experience. kids would love it. my son enjoyed so much. you can visit just for this. has ample parking and is very neatly maintained. Rest rooms were also clean and not messy. 5 star for that.

Good place to take kids along... Exclusive collections of shells of different types size wise, conch oyster are showcased. Small fish or mariane aquarium is there. Pearl museum is full of different types of pearls with shapes and names kept for public view. An amusement park with some of the greatest Dinosaurs is kept. It is artificial gives us a real feel factor.

The last time I visited it was on weekdays so there was no crowd and I had vast time to explore inside this place. They had a huge collection of shells which was stunning. They had a small aquarium but the varieties of fishes and other sea living things they had were cool and mind-blowing. We spent around 500 at that place but it was totally worth it. I prefer going on weekdays with my family since it's totally free. Anyway, this is one of the most underrated and unexplored places near chennai. If you are planning to visit with your children, then this is the perfect spot for them to explore many things.

This is a nice place, different from the other experiences you will get in Mahabalipuram. If you want to see different types of seashells, pearls, stones etc. all different sizes and shapes - then this is the place for you. For kids, there are some small gaming zones which will help families. There’s also a shop selling memorabilia.

  • 4/5 Nikhilteja S. 5 months ago on Google
Good place to take your kids. There are some precious precious collection of sea shells, pesrls, fishes and many more in the museums. Finally there is the Duno museum. Realistic Dino figurines with Eye winking, breathing and other movement effects. Very nicely executed. There is also an Arcade place where most games doesn't work. Underwhelming. There is a cafe inside as well. Food is bit on the expensive side and the taste is not satisfactory. Should be okay for a quick bite. There's also shopping place where all kinds of shell craftsmanship is displayed for house interior enhancement. Overall a good place to visit with kids. Parking space is not so big with around 20 - 25 cars capacity.
