Its a government parking area. Rs.20 Take auto from here Rs.50 to kadal (Sea) for bath. Then go to North gate for 22 theertham (snaan). Carry bags with clothes to change. Do not carry mobiles. Wear old clothes for snaan/theertham as after theertham that clothes are supposed to be discarded. Visit the North Gate for theertham. Hire a guide who charges Rs.125/ person. He will quickly take you across the 22 theertham snaan very briskly. After snaanam change the clothes, there are separate place for changing for gents and ladies. Discard the wet clothes if you want. Take an auto and visit temple. Quick Darshan ticket Rs.100/ person. Visit before 1 PM as temple will close and will reopen at 4 PM

I paid 20 rupees for car parking. Little far away from Temple and agni theertham. I would suggest to drop the people near the sea and then come back and park the vehicle to avoid walking a long distance. because the road from here to temple is little far where kids and elderly people cant walk, since the roads are in worst condition. Its a good place , with no roof. So your vehicle has to be in the sun and rain all the day. But its a decent place for parking car, bike, bus and all vehicles. I will recommend this place for parking since this is a safe place too.

Worst parking spot ever. Full of slushy mud and extremely inaccessible to the temple. Rameshwaram is an awful place to drive - horrible traffic, thoughtless and absolutely disastrous diversions through pothole ridden mud roads that go through lakes, and horrible muddy slushy parking lots to round the experience off! Hats off to the local government, you certainly know how to boost tourism!!!
