A religious place. Lakshmana Tirtham had been constructed in the loving memory of Lord Lakshman, brother of Lord Rama. Nearby public transport is available. One of the most visited and best tourist destination in Rameswaram. Place is beautiful and gives peace to mind.

The Laxmana Theertham of Rameshwaram constructed in the honor of Laxmana bestows an equally divine status to Laxmana and worships him along with Lord Ram and Devi Sita. The waters of the adjoining pond are adored as sacred Theertham and devotees immerse in this holy water in the reverence to Lord Laxmana.

Bathing at here Laxman washed away his sins of killing Ravana brother. There is pond which mark the place where Laxman took the spiritual bath. Nearby to it a beautiful temple is constructed converting it to a place of worship. Beautiful painting and architecture. No photography inside the main temple. Small shops selling puja items and floating stones. Midday south indian temple food is also available. Temperature is generally very high in Rameshwaram so be careful before becoming bare foot as shoes are not allowed. Free vehicles parking facilities.

This Lakshmana Tirtham is at Rameswaram town only. This tirtham us surrounded by pond water. Look charming spot and it is thrilling to enter this tirtham. This pond when we entered it was smelling odd. It needs to be maintained well.

It has been said that lord laxman made this to wash his sin for killing Meghdoot who was a brahmin. There is a pond inside temple. Lot of push from priests to donate money. Do visit when you are in Rameshwaram. One star less for external cleanliness.

Beautiful Temple of Lord Shiva with a holy pond is a sacred Teertham in Rameshwaram. In Rameshwaram and around it, there are around 64 holy theerthas out of which 22 are located in the complex of Sri Ramanathaswamy temple. Lakshmana Theertham is located just 1 km away from Rameshwaram Temple and has many popular other shrines situated nearby. It is close to Rama Theertham, Sita Theertham and Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple.According to legend, Lord Lakshmana had installed a lingam and offered prayers to Lord Shiva at this place. For atonement of his sins, he had worshipped Lord Shiva here. It is believed that before offering his prayers, Lord Lakshmana had taken a bath in this pond. Also at this theertham during the Thaipusam festival floating car procession is organized at the Lakshmana Theertham. Every devotee on Rameshwaram tour come and take a holy dip in the waters of these theetha to wash away their sins. It is believed that by bathing in the holy waters of theerthams devotees can atone for their past sins. This temple, has been built in Dravidian style of architecture, has an attractive structure with carved pillar depicting statues of deities and stories from Ramayana. The temple has carved idols of Lord Rama, Lord Lakshmana, and Goddess Sita. There are also marble statues of Lord Lakshmana. The carvings inside the temple represent the immense devotion of Lord Lakshmana for Maa Sita and Lord Rama. Located by the temple side of Lakshmana Theertham There is a pond and it has a mandapam in the center, surrounded by water on all sides. From mandapam, one can reach to the source of sacred water via stairs. Truly beautiful and blissful

Lakshmana Teertham has been constructed in memory of Lord Lakshman, brother of Lord Rama. In order to offer sacred prayers to lord Lakshmana, temple has been constructed in Rameshwaram itself which indicates that Lord Lakshman had been given a valuable place in the dynasty of Lord Rama. Several wonderful sculptures of Lord Lakshmana have been carved out from marble and the temple has the statues of lord Rama and Goddess Sita too, as they are never supposed to be separated as they stayed united all their lives. This shows the trustworthiness of Lakshman towards his family and especially his elder brother Rama and Goddess Sita.

This is where lakshman created a pond to do pooja for his sins. There is a big pond known as kalyana and it is situated on the rameshwaram ramanathapuram road before the pampan bridge. The temple is just by the side of the point.

There are two temples here. One is of nageshwara and another one for lakshmana. Thirtham area is closed as it is slippery but they have kept a bucket of thirtham water for visitors. There are no shops here. Local auto drivers from bus stand charge 800Rs to take the visitors to all the places in Rameshwaram which is a good deal

Lakshman Tirtham is a smaller temple with a nice position next to its own pond. It's on the road just outside the town probably about 1.5 km from the main temple area. Lakshman is supposed to have worshipped here to reduce his sins from the war.

It is believed that Lord Lakshman (the brother of lord Ram) installed a Shiva Linga and worship the Lord Shiva for vanishing his sins and took bath in this theertham. During Thai Poosam festival (Poosam nakshathra On tamil month thai (Pausa month in Sanskrit) is referred as “Thai Poosam” in Tamil), there is a floating car procession of Ramanathaswamy inside the Lakshmana Theertha pond.

Lakshmana Theertham is a nice pond - nowadays people are not allowed to take bath here. Along with the idol of Lord Lakshmana, see the idols of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. are there in the temple adjoining the pond., There are many engravings of Ramayana on the temple walls. It is said that Lord Lakshmana took a dip in the pond where he placed a Shiva Linga and prayed to Lord Shiva to vanish all of his sins. Must have darshan.

It is a place of mythological importance as Laxman performed Shiv Puja installing a lingam and took a dip in the pool to get rid of his sins. The temple is small and beautiful. People nearby try to sell stones claiming them to be part of Ram Setu. Money should be donated only into Hindi and not to priests directly.

Just 1 km from Rameswaram Temple and near to Ramar Theertham on the main road there is a pond where Lakshman (brother of Lord Ram) has worked Lord Shiva by installing the Lingam here. It is believe he worship the Lord Shiva to get cleanse from all his sins and took the bath in this theertham! Near the kund it's nice place to sit and relax but they really need to improve it so that many people come to this place. The temple is very calm and quiet and is maintained neatly....

This place Is also mentioned in the epic Ramayana . Bathing in the place and water is considered holy. People also take water from this place and use it as holy water in their home , which they believe will remove negative energy from there house.

Lakshman Tirtham or Lakshman Kund is a scared pond. Because as per locals Shree Lakshman Ji used to take bath here and worshipped before heading towards Lanka. The water of this Kund is very scared and people take this holy water with themselves. A small shiv temple is located near this Tirtham where Lakshmanji used to worshipped devon ke Dev Mahadev.
