Located in the southwest of Kodaikanal, Pine Forests is one of the most popular places to see in Kodaikanal. A preserved heritage of the Kodaikanal, it presents mesmerizing nature that has been preserved very carefully. Pine Forests are a result of the efforts of Mr. Bryant, who had stated the pine plantations in order to grow the timber. Plantation was done in the year of 1906. The sight of umpteen numbers of pine trees, standing majestically, welcoming you their world is nothing less than a nature’s wonder. The entire Pine forests appear gray with dried cones and leaves. This forest is surrounded by vegetation of mushrooms, often called as magic mushrooms, which are said to be hallucinogenic. It not only makes for a unique sightseeing choice but also an ideal place for walks and relaxing. Spend a few relaxed moments amid the massive Pine trees, a fine example of nature’s charm. One of the most popular things to do at Pine Forest is photography. With its enchanting beauty of densely grown Pine trees forming a perfect background, this place is must visit for everyone who likes photography. Scenes from various movies have also been shot here. The forest is also an ideal place to go for long walks, admiring its unique beauty and enjoying its peaceful atmosphere. Every nature enthusiasts is sure to love this place. One can also have an exciting camping experience here after getting permission from the local authorities.

Beautiful Pine Forest in Kodaikanal. I saw first time Pine Forest in my life and fell in love with this one. What a scenic view! It's huge, very well maintained, peaceful, you can walk and enjoy the view, horse ride available, various food stalls available and it's one of the main attraction of Kodaikanal. A must visit and highly recommended.

One of the beautiful place to visit in Kodaikanal. Full of Pine Trees and very next to Pillar Rock view point. It is approx 12-13 KM from Kodaikanal Lake which will take 30-40 mins to reach by car. Nice place to spend time and you will feel nice cold temperature even during the day. Small horse ride you can enjoy 😊 and save yourself from monkeys 🐒

Pine Forest in Kodaikanal is like stepping into a dreamy woodland straight out of a fairytale. It's the kind of place that takes your breath away and makes you feel one with nature. As you enter, the air is filled with the invigorating scent of pine trees, instantly refreshing your senses. The tall, majestic pines create a natural umbrella, gently filtering the sunlight and casting dancing shadows on the ground. It's the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll or a family picnic, with the sound of leaves crunching beneath your feet. Wandering along the forest's meandering paths, you'll discover hidden viewpoints that reveal stunning vistas of the surrounding valleys and hills. Photographers, in particular, will find themselves in a paradise of breathtaking landscapes. But the Pine Forest is more than just a visual feast. It's a haven for those seeking peace and tranquility. Find a quiet spot and you can meditate or simply lose yourself in the calming embrace of nature. In essence, Pine Forest is a magical escape from the chaos of everyday life. It's a place that rekindles your connection with the natural world, allowing you to soak in the beauty of the outdoors. A visit here is like a deep, soothing breath of fresh air, leaving you with memories of pure serenity.

Pretty nice place to visit when going to Kodaikanal. Beware of Monkeys as they can snatch your personal equipment. Entry fee is just INR 10 for Indians and INR 100 for foreign nationals. Pretty came and picturesque place.

The Pine Forest in Kodaikanal is a remarkable destination that offers visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature. Planted by Mr. Bryant in 1906 with the intention of eventually harvesting them, these pine trees have grown to create a captivating forest. Despite the presence of dried cones and leaves, the sheer abundance of pine trees is a sight to behold. Taking a leisurely stroll through the Pine Forest allows you to experience a sense of tranquility and serenity. The peaceful atmosphere and the soothing fragrance of the pine trees provide an excellent opportunity to clear your mind and reconnect with nature. The forest offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. One of the highlights of the Pine Forest is its picturesque beauty. The tall, majestic trees create a stunning backdrop that lends itself perfectly to photography. Whether you're an amateur or a professional, capturing moments against the backdrop of the pine trees can result in truly captivating photographs. Additionally, the Pine Forest offers the opportunity for horseback riding, adding an extra element of adventure and enjoyment to your visit. Exploring the forest on horseback allows you to discover the area from a different perspective, providing a unique and memorable experience. While the presence of dried cones and leaves may make the forest appear somewhat drab, the overall allure of the Pine Forest lies in its natural charm and the peaceful ambiance it provides. If you're looking for a place to unwind, connect with nature, and capture stunning photographs, the Pine Forest in Kodaikanal is definitely worth a visit.

Just wow, this is a must visit place. There is ample parking space. The route might get foggy by evening so its better to visit in the morning or afternoon. Entrance fee was 30, and 300 for digital camera. The visit was too good. Spent good time there. Its a must visit place in Kodaikanal.

It's a trail of spots approximately 1km apart when you enter the valley. It's 20 rs for entering the road and you can visit 4 spots and park there. The fog made the place mysterious and beautiful. There are horse rides, photo frames etc... available. There are a lot of shops at the entrance. It's very crowded, even parking is hard if you are traveling in a car.

The towering pine trees, postcard perfect views of the Nilgiris all around and the crisp air makes it the most captured location in the Indian films. Spanning between Ooty and Thalakunda, the mesmerising views of the location makes the visitors forget about any worry and get lost in its rustic charm. The soaring pines provide privacy to honeymooners from the prying eyes of the world and give the opportunity to spend quality time with each other.

One place that I absolutely loved in Kodai is the Pine tree Forest. It's a rare site in India. Place was a little crowded, plan to go early during the day if you want to avoid crowd. With Mist it might be a sight to see.. One of those place for good pre/post wedding shoots.

Place is awesome, super romantic place. Peaceful, calm, pleasent with nature, big trees Birds, animals like monkeys, greenery with tall pine trees. The place is soo wet every time bcos Tall tree touching the clouds. A forest is an area of land dominated by trees. Hundreds of definitions of forest are used throughout the world, incorporating factors such as tree density, tree height, land use, legal standing and ecological function. The Food and Agriculture Organization defines a forest as land The place is ideal for photography and shooting movies. Also, I have seen this forest in some famous tamil movie songs. Situated in the southwest of Kodaikanal, Pine Forest is one of the most famous tourist spots in the city. It showcases the mesmerizing nature around which has been preserved to date which is why it is also an important preserved heritage in the town. Great place to take pictures. would not recommend the horse ride though. It's more like a walk then a ride. Don't forget to buy dry flowers which would last for more than 2 years. Do not bring any food items in your bag as monkeys get a little too exited and snatch everything from us.

What a amazing place to visit, if you are in Kodaikanal. This is a very big pine tree forest where you can spend a lot of time, take pictures and sit there, relax. Also, there are horse-rides available inside the pine forest that you or your children can enjoy. Plus, there are so many spots inside the pine forest to create some great images. A definitive place to visit when you visit Kodai.

Many film shootings are also done here. No entry fees for this place. Half an hour can be spent easily. This is surrounded by many food stalls but be aware as you are always watched by the monkeys 😁 One of the must visit places in Kodaikanal.

With its picturesque beauty and peaceful environment, this site is fantastic to visit. The pine trees are just beautiful. There is no entry fee there. Horseback riding is available. One of the best features of this location is the roomy space, which makes sure that even with many visitors, you won't feel cramped or suffocated. In this vast region, you may unwind and have a good time. It's important to note that maintaining the space's cleanliness and order is necessary. Crowded on weekends.

This place is indeed the most popular attraction in kodaikanal. Such a peaceful ambiance and the tall pine trees are just beautiful ❣️. We spent the longest time in this place clicking pictures and videos. I guess the charges apply if you want to do video shooting like prewedding shoot. You have to carry sufficient water and suitable food because there are very few stalls and shops.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful kodaikanal pine forest, and it was truly an enchanting experience. The towering pine trees reached for the sky, their branches creating a natural canopy that filtered the sunlight, casting a dappled pattern on the forest floor. The play of light and shadow added to the forest's mystique. Overall, the beautiful pine forest was a perfect escape into nature's embrace. Its serenity, fragrant air, and the feeling of being surrounded by ancient giants left me rejuvenated and inspired. If you're seeking a peaceful retreat in nature, I highly recommend a visit to this enchanting pine forest.

Loved this place. It feels nice to be in this forest of really tall trees. Either take a leisurely stroll or sit down and enjoy the beauty. When we visited, there were too many people, and it was too noisy. I am sure if it was little quieter, it would have been a fantastic experience.

Kodaikanal brings respite to visitors from the heat of the adjoining cities with its pleasant climate throughout the year. This hill station, in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, is 2000 metres above sea level, set in the Ghat section of granite cliffs which are completely covered with Pine forests, waterfalls and lakes and grassy slopes. The star-shaped lake is a man-made one and the town is situated around it. A honeymooners’ paradise with a laidback pace, the town has several holiday activities to offer, having a stroll through the Pine Forest being one of them. Sunlight shimmering through the pine trees is a visual delight.

Only place in kodaikanal where we don't require to take entry ticket. Whole jungle of kodaikanal is almost surrounded by pine forest..but they have kept this place open for humans. You cannot just roam around anywhere as they have value for the animals and they maintain it. The public area of pine forest has bamboo fencing so that no animal can come in and no human can go beyond boundary. This might be because of the lockdown many animals were seen at the borders. We saw a bison.. Woah that was awesome 😊

Pine Forests came into existence due to the efforts put in by Mr. Bryant as he was the one to state the pine plantations to grow the timber in the year 1906. The sight of pine trees present in abundance and welcoming you to their world is nothing but nature's wonder with the forests appearing grey with dried cones and leaves. The forests are surrounded by a vegetation of mushrooms popularly known as the magic mushrooms, which are believed to be hallucinogenic. Have some money in hand cause you don’t get network coverage in that place. Please check before after you come from that place cause many worms (Atta poochi) that sucks blood sticks in our dress.

Forest is pretty good for family time. The long pine trees and the slight sun which passes through helps to balance the cold breeze in the forest. But people have to be more responsible by not littering the place. Found a lot of plastic waste in the forest. Would not recommend over the weekend since the road to get there becomes really crowded.

Completely filled with pine trees and there were so many shops outside. So pleasant place to visit and entry fees is about ₹10 per person. An amazing place for photo shoots and there were so many seats available to rest for a while, they are made of wood . Trees were so tall and amazing view from the top

Small area of pine forest but it’s very beautiful. Very photogenic place, there’s nothing much to see here other than the tall trees, pine cones and monkeys hovering around all over the place. Don’t carry food items with you because the monkeys will jump on and scratch it away. The forest isn’t heavily planted, so you can see the sunlight and it’s really hot during April.

Amazing place. The horse ride is good. Watch in rainy season if it rains you won’t have any shelter to get under. This place is great to have pictures. You will find professional photographers, they will click picture for ₹100. Better you take one pic with them for a memory.

Ticket is just 10 Rs and even speakers are not allowed inside. This excellent place is very good for getting some awesome solo pics and even group photos aa well. The tall pine trees and the falllen logs provide a very good background and with clouds coming by this place become a very exotic place. It is guarded by the forest department cops and there is extra fee for camera. Must visit place in my opinion, you can also find some food and shopping stalls outside, be careful with monkeys, especially when you are eating as they might attack you for food. Parking is 100 rs for mini buses/ travellers

Nice place to visit with friends and family. It's a very good treaking spot. There are a lot of hidden places inside the pine forest. You can spend a lot of time there. There is a lake which gives you a very good background for your photos. And it's not a good place for old people. And you have to buy tickets to get inside but it's cheap and there are a lot of small shops around the forest and you can drink and eat snacks after your adventures walk.

Wondering place to visit and a great place for photography. Very calm atmosphere and we won't regret if we visit the place with the perfect weather conditions. I have visited pine forest during the end of December and it was amazing during the time because the forest was completely filled with fog.
