Outstanding beauty ! If you want to stay overnight is 100RON for a Studio and food, you'll need to give a 2 weeks notice before coming. You can visit the old and new church, both are in the same place.

The Monastery is amazing. Apart from relics of different Saints the natural souroundings is breathtaking. Its quiet and the newer Church is small but beautiful.

Peaceful place! Build in 17th century by Matei Basarab in honor of God who was saved by Divinity when he was attacked by Turks. Also beautiful scenery and panoramic view. Also the road trough here is spectacular, you cross by a rock quarry

The road to Arnota is similar to Transfagarasan, only shorter. The view is breathtaking. The the old building is nice to see, to touch the history, but they also have a new chapel which is very beautiful. The staff is very welcoming.

Less known but beautiful and peaceful place. The only issue is that the 4 km from the village of Costesti to the Arnota monastery, the road is not paved but it is passable. I recommend visiting this place!

Very nice restored & chept historical monument! Worth the road until you hit the place, even if it's mostly "off-road", but activable with "normal" passenger car. Pictoresc view!

Well worth the drive. Road to here is horrendous though so do allow extra time to get up to the top.

Exceptionaly beautiful place. The view from up there is stunning. You can also buy homemade liquors made there, but make sure you have cash with you.

A wonderful place in Valcea County. This part of Romania has a lot of places worth see, but Arnota, the small Monastery in the mountain is a place to go for the service and silence. The road is ok until the village, down the mountain, and then is a dirt road for about 5-6 km. The last kilometer or so is again asphalt. The entire mountain road is very narrow and you may cross stone carring trucks. Once you have reached the Monastery is a place of calm and relaxation. Visit the old, small, church and go for the service in the newer one. The place worth the visit even with the dirt road.

Splendid views and peaceful place. The road to reach it is kind of bumpy but it is worth it

👍👍 An interesting place. Access is through the Bistrita Monastery. The nuns enter and are asked about the cave. If you go up without a guide, you risk finding the door at the entrance to the closed cave. The climb up there is quite difficult for children and the elderly. It is good to be properly shod...

👍 Este mai degraba o grota uriasa, probabil una din multele existente in zona. Accesul este liber si se face urcind o portiune destul de abrupta formata din trepte artificiale si naturale (radacini). Balustrada de sustinere este rupta pe alocuri.
