Too beautiful, wild and good access. The marking is quite good. One of my favourite mountains to hike in autumn.

My recent visit to Buila-Vânturarița National Park was a true escape into nature's embrace. Tucked away in the heart of Romania, this hidden gem offers an unparalleled experience of tranquility, stunning landscapes, and breathtaking biodiversity. Buila-Vânturarița National Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. As I embarked on the hiking trails that wind through the park, I found myself immersed in a picturesque world of dense forests, rugged cliffs, and serene meadows. The diverse flora and fauna that call this park home are a testament to its ecological importance and conservation efforts. The park's crown jewel is the impressive limestone massif, which stands tall and proud, creating a dramatic backdrop for the surrounding scenery. The cliffs and rock formations are a sight to behold, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and admiration for the forces of nature that shaped them over time. Hiking through the park's trails, I discovered hidden waterfalls cascading down moss-covered rocks, adding a touch of enchantment to the surroundings. The sound of rushing water and the fresh, crisp air invigorated my senses, reminding me of the beauty and purity of untouched nature. One of the highlights of my visit was reaching the peak of Vânturarița, the highest point in the park. From there, I was rewarded with panoramic views that stretched as far as the eye could see. The rolling hills, deep valleys, and distant mountains painted a breathtaking landscape that left me speechless. The park is also home to a rich variety of plant and animal species, making it a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. I was fortunate to spot rare and elusive creatures such as chamois, deer, and various bird species. The park's commitment to conservation ensures that these precious habitats remain protected for generations to come. The park's infrastructure, including well-marked trails and informative signage, made exploring the area a seamless and enjoyable experience. The visitor center provided valuable information about the park's history, geology, and the importance of preserving its natural wonders. If you are seeking a retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life, Buila-Vânturarița National Park is a destination that should not be missed. It offers a sanctuary of serenity, where one can reconnect with nature's splendor and find solace in its untouched beauty. Whether you're an avid hiker, a wildlife enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates the wonders of the natural world, this park will leave an indelible mark on your heart and soul.

Being the smallest national park in Romania, Buila-Vânturarița is also one of the most friendliest and beautiful to be seen by tourists passing through this area. We have here a main homoclinal, limestone ridge and plentiful of crashed rocks, steep slopes, karstic relief, untouched forest, breathtaking views and richness in wildlife species. Not to be missed by nature lovers!

The Buila - Vanturarita National Park is a protected area that lies in the Capatanii Mountains, which are a subgroup of the Parang Mountains at the South Carpathians. The closest city is Ramnicu Vulcea. The NP covers an area of 4,200 hectares. Varful Vanturarita is 1,885m high, but the inclination of the mountain is rather steep and the walk is not the easiest. In the Buila Curmatura (Saddle) there is a refugee but it only provides space to sleep and nothing else.

Simply Breathtaking. Difficult to reach but it's worth the effort. Take a packed lunch and enjoy the scenery. The Monasteries are worth visiting if you get a chance.

this is a great place to spend the weekend. there are routes of varying complexity. the easiest route starts from the village of Cheia and will take about 6 hours to Cabana. also you can get there by car. you can reach Cabana by two roads - a simple dirt road or a more complex extreme route. the second route is unusually beautiful. But you can go on this route only in good weather. in Cabana you can relax and enjoy the view of the beautiful rocks, and this house can also be booked for a party with a guitar and food at the stake.

Good stuff. Landscape is beautiful. There are some small portions where the trail isn't fully marked. Remember to get at least 2L of water since there aren't much water sources.

Great place with many hiking trails (easy or technical for any level) and also with big walls for alpine climbing or sport climbing easy to access with spectacular views.

Olteț Gorges: Adequate footwear is recommended, especially for visiting the Polovragi Cave (the floor is wet/slippery). Temperature inside the cave is ~9°C, so make sure you have something warm to wear. When you reach the bridge (a 10 min. trek from the cave), look for the trail & stairs on your right that take you to the riverbed.

Nice area, fore walking, hiking and geology. The mountain itself is made of basement metamorphic rocks, covered by the Middle Jurassic- Lower Cretaceous limestones.

Wilder and greener than other mountains. Went from Schitul Pahomie to Vanturarita Mare peak. Medium difficulty trail. Bring enough water and sun protection.

The most underrated mountain in Romania. Cheile Cheii is a must see.

👍👍 An interesting place. Access is through the Bistrita Monastery. The nuns enter and are asked about the cave. If you go up without a guide, you risk finding the door at the entrance to the closed cave. The climb up there is quite difficult for children and the elderly. It is good to be properly shod...

👍 Este mai degraba o grota uriasa, probabil una din multele existente in zona. Accesul este liber si se face urcind o portiune destul de abrupta formata din trepte artificiale si naturale (radacini). Balustrada de sustinere este rupta pe alocuri.
