We passed by Târgoviște and the Tower on the way back home from Bucharest on Monday. It was supposed to be closed, but parking was readily available and free on the street, so we gave it a shot and surprisingly it was open. Tickets were 15RON per person, and we spent about an hour there. The tower was in great condition, and there was a little museum with written works from 100s of years ago that showcased the evolution of the Romanian language. Bathrooms were super clean too. Nice quiet historical place. Cheap tickets, easy parking. Great place to visit during a road trip break.

The impressive tower built in the 15th century, and later restored in the 19th century, is most likely the most famous landmark of Targoviste. First used as a bell tower, then a watchtower and later as a clock tower, the 3 flights of stairs to reach the top makes the view of the whole city quite beautiful. The entrance fee to the Old Courtyard was only 12 lei and the tower comes in the ticket.

A small piece of Romanian history which should be visited if you wish to understand who Vlad Țepeş was. Very friendly staff.

The tower itself looks really good as it has been renovated, even though it’s not that tall you can see the whole city from it’s top. The park surrounding it is really beautiful. If you have small children you can take them to the city’s zoo which is a 5 minute walk from the tower.

If you have not been, you need not be told. GO. This place has hundreds of years of history. There is a lot to see and a lot to learn. The top of the tower view is priceless. The caves are amazing, and very cold. The ruins are super interesting. Visit on of Dracula's homes. How many can say they've seen it? The entrance see if 15RON, not too expensive for how much history this place holds. Take the kids too.

It's a nice historical place to visit. Pretty well preserved. I gave 4 stars because the tower and the two churches can't be visitated momentarily since they they are under restauration for some time now and also, even though the place is nice and mostly clean, it could use a little bit of better maintenance.

Towering above the park and the palace, "Turnul" stands like a guard of Dambovita region.Tall and gratious,it demans bravity to climp up to the very the top.But your reward will be there--the vast lands of clever princes invluding Vlad Tepes and all those whose sculptural images are in the park, who strived to make Romania a united and powerful state.

This possible place for the grave of Vlad Dracul (Dracula) is very well maintained and the photos and documents offered here for the public are very interesting.

the tower itself is very well restored, but also the fortification surroundings and church are beautiful. ontop of the tower you have a very nice view of the surrounding city and area

Not much to see especially that the tower and church are being restored. The "Tiparului" museum is also uninteresting and poorly endowed. 12 RON entry fee is money for almost nothing

It's the center piece of Targoviste. The old royal court is very very well preserved. Interesting place to visit, don't miss it.

Managed to visit only the printing house and the yard. The church and tower are not open to visit yet. They say it will be open after 15th of July. Anyway, it's a place that must be seen since it is an important piece of Romanian history. Another thing: entry fee is 12 lei for adult, 6 lei for kids.

A symbol of Wallachia, a XV century fortress tower! Amazingly beautiful!

An interesting location when everything is open. This was my second visit and the tower was closed for renovation. Otherwise the location is nice, a few different things to see like a museum, underground and above ground ruins and the tower. Not a very large location but worth a visit. The photography pass is also very affordable so it's a great photo spot.
