Spectacular mountains, accesible by car, bus or motorbike. 148 kilometets of road DN67C is a mototourist dream. Comparing to another famous Transfogarasan, you will not experience a traffic jam here. Road quality is outstanfing too.

Amazing journey. I adjusted my speed and took it slowly. I stopped at parking areas to take pictures. It is stil open now in October at 20 degrees Celsius.

Transalpina is one of the most spectacular and highest roads in Romania, crossing the Southern Carpathian Mountains. With a maximum altitude of approximately 2,145 meters in the Urdele Pass, the Transalpina offers outstanding mountain scenery and a unique driving experience. This road winds through picturesque mountain landscapes, dense forests and alpine areas with sparse vegetation. The Transalpina is also known as the "King's Road" and is open during the summer, usually between June and October, due to the severe weather conditions during the rest of the year. It connects the Oltenia region to Transylvania and is an attraction for tourists keen to explore Romania's natural beauty.

While Transfagarasan has epic view of the road from the top and some nice views of mountains, Transalpina road goes trough incredible nature, thick forests, wide grass plains on top of a TA road and lots of very good curves on nice pavement. There are also some wild side roads if you decide to hit the dirt and explore a bit. I believe TA and TF are the best thing Romania has to offer.

Astonishing views, great roads and good vibes! It's one of my favourite roads, going for a trip occasionally (either with the family or an early morning joy ride). I can't recommend it enough to cars/motorcycle enthusiasts.

Breathtaking. I would totally recommend visiting this road and walk around on the mountain tops.

It can not be defined with words, it is a spectacular road, a must for any biker. The asphalt is very good, it climbs very high, the views are spectacular, the route full of curves is infinitely beautiful, like a dream. The Transfagarasan road gets the fame but the one that is really worth it is the Transalpina road, between Novaci and Sebes, simply incredible. Romania is infinite!

The Transalpina (DN 67C) is the highest road in Romania, crossing the Parâng Mountains over the Urdele Pass (at 2,145 m). The Transalpina links Transylvania and Oltenia between Novaci in Gorj County and Sebeș/Săliște in Alba County. In recent years it has become one of the most sought-after destinations in Romania, alongside the Transfăgărășan, by motorists, motorcyclists and cyclists alike. The Transalpina was originally a mountain path, known as the "Devil's Path". The path was used by shepherds from the Sibiului Mountains to cross the mountains with their flocks of sheep in Wallachia. This transhumance road linked Transylvania to Oltenia. It is a monument of nature, inspired and improved by hard-working and respectful people.

If you are looking for a challenging drive, this is definelty the place! Sorry for the overwhelming car pics... Beware, the road is dangerous! It is meant for experienced drivers, the hairpins are very tight and narrow. Don't gete wrong, it was the best driving experience of my life, I am just trying to give a heads up. It is easily better than the "Stelvio Pass". Take into consideration that the road is only open in the daytime. Also, I am not sure if it is open from october till april. So, if you want to take a ride there, check first.

Great road with sometimes heavy traffic. Lovely views if you are lucky not to be inside clouds.

Absolutely stunning view, excellent quality road, amazing experience throughout the entire drive. I highly recommend it. You can literally see the clouds few meters away, while the depths of the landscape is sinking in the background. Freaking amazing!!!

👍👍 Look for the sign at the end of the bridge and follow the trail up, past the villa to an area where you can park near where the wood is cut. Now you follow the stream up hill, criss crossing the stream as you make your way, there are little red dots on the rocks and trees to guide you. About half wa...
