The location was perfectly located near airport for ease of travel in and out of Dehradun. I really appreciated the quiet setting within a small village area. Experienced great sleeps here, hot shower, and made to order convenient healthy food. The staff was helpful to me, as a solo female traveler, to answer questions and assist with my travel plans. I really liked the common spaces for sitting, Indoors and rooftop yet did rent the private room for optimal rest. I was comfortable and felt safe. I recommend this sweet place and would stay again!! The resident 2 dogs and kitty provided great entertainment :)

Love, love, love. Local, community-based, eco-conscious, pet friendly, wild, inclusive, entertaining, easy-going, homegrown, passionate, and so much fun. Sun n Soil is a bit of a Hotel California, in that "You can check-out anytime you like, but you [won't want to] leave." Prepare to post-pone your travel plans when you stay here. Get involved, get your hands dirty, enjoy the wonderful food, and get to know your new home-away-from-home. NOT FOR OMG TRAVELLERS ;P

Stayed here for 3 days and it was easily the most serene experience I've had in my life so far. The owners are hospitable and have a deep well of stories to keep you busy while you enjoy the midnight bonfire. The food was homely and filling and Garima could put any premium coffee outlet to shame with her brewing skills. If you are a motorcyclist like I am, don't miss this place- Dean himself is an avid biker and bikers are the coolest people on the planet. The farmstay(?) is located right at the periphery of Rajaji National park. Be wary of rare encounters with leopards and/or elephants who might stray outside. Going for a morning run along the boundary of the park is just... heavenly. Tl;dr- If you're visiting Dehradun on a budget and want a peaceful stay, this place should be your first option. It's just 2-3 km from the airport, so you can get there by walking.

I came here expecting to stay one night but ended up staying the week and then returned to stay again. It’s a place where I instantly felt comfortable and super relaxed. The vibe was exactly what I was looking for. The surroundings are super peaceful and idyllic. Aaquib went above and beyond to make sure my trip in India was authentic and a real experience, even after leaving the hostel, he helped me to find good places to stay and places to go according to what I like. Dean & Gary (sorry not spelling your names correct :) ) have a very special place and they make you feel so welcome. Thanks again ALL! I will be back :)

Fantabulous. Even though I had a very short overnight stay the host and team were very caring. Stay, food n ambience was very much homely. Beyond expectations. Must try. I will visit them whenever another chance comes. I was travelling with my 9 yrs old boy who also enjoyed very much esp with two (also too) cute dogs Sasha and Emma (sorry if I spelled their names wrongly) I needed a Rick for airport drop early morning which was also arranged. Too happy. Thanks Sun N Soil team.

A cute warm beautiful stay with wonderful hosts - 2 wonderful humans - Akib and Garima, 2 sweetheart puppies - Mama Emma and Son Shifu and 1 almighty cuddly cat - Mr. Winter... Very hospitable and they help you out with everything, from transport to local delicacies to well timed supply of tea.. Do stay and visit them, very heartfelt people.. if you love art, the whole house is filled with pockets of canvas and framed drawings and paintings as well. And there are some white wall areas where you could write or draw and leave back some love!! And proximity to the airport is always a perfect pittstop or even to leave for a Trek nearby. Just about 30 mins from activities at Rishikesh! (If you don't get traffic)

Sun n Soil makes for a perfect stay with super friendly hosts. The place is surrounded by greenery, and it feels refreshing throughout. It's situated near to the airport, and the hosts can help you with all the arrangements - rental bikes or taxis, or even helping out with your further travel plans. Recommend this warm and cozy place :)

Property is hardly 5 min from the airport. The artistic interiors, surrounding greenery, the hosts all give this place a homely feel. Place gives comfy feel for group travel and solo as well. Tasty food can be enjoyed. Moreover the hosts will guide you in planning your trip from dehradun. Sun rise and sunset time the ambience is great.

Wonderful place away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the place is calm, beautiful, and wild at the same time. The hosts are welcoming and helpful. They have maintained the place very well keeping the rawness of nature alive.

The place is very peaceful I really liked it . All staff were very friendly 😀 all rooms were decorated according it's theme. The fact that the room names were not numbers instead they were named after our ecosystem like forest, galaxy etc. the vibes of the place were very energetic and positive. I would recommend everyone to visit and experience this wonderful place.

I came here for 3 days and was goona check out next day because of cancelling some plans but the place is so good that i ended up staying here for 5 days. It has a different vibe. The food is amazing and homely. Dean can suggest best cafes to go on bike and sometimes makes Amazing tea.

Stayed here for about a week in early Nov 2022 for a Workcation. As it was my 1st time as a solo female traveler, I was very apprehensive... but from the minute I stepped in here... the hosts Garima, "Dean" & Aaquib made me feel absolutely at home and welcomed me with an amazing cup of exotic blue tea... What followed was an absolutely immersive experience and the time of my life... with late night jamming sessions, a soulful farewell to one of their international volunteers, a weekend trip to Harsil, long deep conversations, the most authentic yummy food, the lovely dogs Shifu & Emma and the stories of the people you meet...each night was eventful, creating memories to take back for a lifetime. I came... I saw... I evolved... The call outs: 1. The warmth & goodwill of the hosts... they WANT & ENSURE you have a good time 2. "Dean" being an avid traveler himself... knows every nook, corner & secret of Uttarakhand and beyond... He could help with the best plans & execution. 3. You will never miss home food 4. The serene location... sandwiched b/w the fringe of a forest & farmland... well away from the hustle of the city 5. Proximity (10 mins) to the airport and (30 mins) from Rishikesh 6. They become family, a home away from home & not just friends

I volunteered for 1 month in SNS and it was a home away from home. The hostel is very neat, clean and comfy🌟. It's between the jungle and amazing fields, yet very easy to find and access. I fell in love with everything Indian at this place: food, nature, music and most importantly people ❤️. SNS team are the coolest and most amazing people anyone can ever meet, they are very helpful and friendly. Besides my volunteering experience which was very enriching, SNS immersed me in a multitude of experiences, from hikes in the jungle 🌲, yoga with amazing views on the roof 🧘🏻‍♀️, bike rides in Uttarakhand and visits to nearby Rishikesh, Dehradun and Mussoorie. Everyday I enjoyed meeting and connecting with many national and international travelers. I learned living sustainably ♻️, reducing waste (especially plastic) and helping in saving earth, which made me even more connected to nature. The hostel is perfect also for spending a quiet time in the nature and just enjoying a book in the sun with a cup of Chai. ☕️ As a solo traveler, a woman and someone who has zero knowledge of Hindi, I felt perfectly safe to roam around in the area, of course it was challenging to communicate with taxi drivers 😅, but SNS team helped me alot to reach anywhere safely 🙏🏻. Dean, Garima and Aaquib are the best hosts I've ever met and real friends. I can't wait to come back. Trust me it's a hostel where you will feel home 🏡❤️

The place is simply awesome and the stay was super comfortable and peaceful amidst the greenery. I had a brief stay(for about 4 hours) here while waiting for my family to arrive at Dehradun airport. The property is super close to the airport. I walked up to the property and settled down comfortably in the dorm room meant for 3. Since it was a Thursday, not a lot of boarders were around. So I got the whole room for myself. The property is surrounded by sugar cane fields and forest as the backyard. The rooms, terrace, garden and everything about the property is tastefully done with organic and recycled materials. The host and staff are wonderful. They are avid hikers and bikers, and have tons of adventure stories to share. You will feel at home and be at peace the moment you arrive here. The in-house cook Vikram made simple yet delicious lunch even though i arrived at their property at 3pm. You can never say no to Vikram ji’s bajjis accompanied by evening tea. I also grabbed some packed dinner as we were getting late heading towards Kempty falls for the night stay.

Very warm and friendly welcome, super comfortable and artistic space with super chilled atmosphere! The food also was very delicious! Finally, Aaquib really made it easy for me to travel as I was taking off very early from the airport the next day! Thanks again!

If you're looking for a place right next to an actual forest, this is exactly where you should be going if you're near Dehradun Airport. Amenities and food is good enough but the place itself is a second heaven. They got a common area with a tv, games, few instruments, video games and they also have most of the streaming services and ott platforms. Will suggest this place for people who would like to chill and vibe.

What can I say about this place. Words will fall short to describe the experience of this place. If you want to go to a Paradise, this is the place. Garima, Dean and Aaquib’s hospitality is irreplaceable. They are fondly with their guests, actually they don’t make people feel like guests. The place is at a serene location between the farms, overlooking the mountains and a forest at the backyard. Garima is an architect herself and I must appreciate her for the way she has done the entire place, it’s mesmerising. They have converted the terrace area into a small hanging out place which looks amazing. It was my birthday and Garima prepared a really delicious Pancake for me. They will very soon start farming at their backyard and will give the guests an experience where they can indulge in these activities. You’ll get to meet different people coming from different parts of India and can have wonderful conversations. Thanks Garima, Dean (for jamming sessions and the night bike ride) and Aaquib for taking care of all your guests ( I would rather say friends) Anyone looking out for a wonderful and lifetime experience must definitely visit here.

The hostel is just 2 km behind the Jolly Grant airport and is alongside the forest. The location is beautiful and soothing. A great place to just relax and connect with yourself. Aaquib and Akash at the hostel were very friendly and helpful. They made me feel like I was home. A bunch of us went for a walk in the forest, a must-do when you visit this hostel. I miss Emma and Shifu, the two lovely dogs that guard the hostel. Can;t wait to be back :)

It's dream land stay for each nature lover. It's in lap of amazing field where you can cherish yourself by listening and enjoying watching birds and listening to their sounds. And this property is extremely feel like home. It's worth to be here. I will definitely recommend this hostel for all nature lover and for bird photography.

Nice hostel located very close to the forest area though in an urban locality. It’s a two storied house with rooms and common toilet. Some rooms need fans as Doon too is getting warmer with climate change. Good view from the rooftop early morning. Food was good. Location is good for those who wish to catch a flight and host has arrangements with an auto and car for ease of pick up and drop.

A home away from hometown. Green & Clean. One of the best sunsets and sunrises you'll encounter. A must stay for backpackers, and meet Dean, Garima, Emma & Danny, for endless stories and a complete tour in Uttrakhand.
