Very nice ambiance and good food

The rural theme is novel in terms of look but it is half-baked. The interiors, the seating don't reflect it properly. We went in a small office group. The servicing time was longer than expected (over 20 minutes). I had Fried Baby Corn, Tandoori Chicken, Mutton Masala and tandoori roti from what we ordered. The tandoori chicken was average and one piece I had was overdone. The Baby Corn was average too. The mutton dish was quite hot for even someone like me who like spicy food. The mutton pieces were a put-off. In a portion of four pieces, two I found were bony. Another piece from another portion was good. The mutton, wherever I found it, was tender. The tandoori roti was good. Overall, a forgettable experience.

It was one of the best restaurants in Jharkhand. Now it has lost its charm. With time passes,food quality getting downgraded and price becomes expensive. Even though people get there to search for good and Indian style foods.

It is an affordable family restaurant.But there is a lot of shortage of stuff like the service is very poor. You have to wait a long time. I have been here many times and the condition is always the same and clearly there is only one person who is doing everything in a hurry. But the food is very good. I ordered :- Stuffed kulcha : Its spelling was good in which cheese, potatoes, carrots and some other vegetables were added and it was very good in the stuffing . Paneer masala: You will not believe but the number of Masana Kambar Paneer in this country was so much that Raju Paneer seemed to be more and Masala was very less Litti chokha: Litti Chokha is very good. You must try this place once, it is very good in both chutney and chokha. This restaurant to need improvement in service category otherwise all good .

True to its name, Gaon Family Restaurant is perfect for families. The decor is filled with images and figurines of village life, food, dance, and people. There's an aquarium with fishes and a small turtle in a separate tank. It becomes a good selfie point. The food is tasty. But the service is okay. We were 10 people and we had to ask and wait for a long time for water bottles. They also took some time to bring extra naans. The overall experience was okay.

Interior is beautiful but not well maintained.. but the food is really tasty.. whatever suggestions I gave for my order was well followed and cooked a tasty meal.. I loved the place for food..

Quite a place. Awesome place to be in with any kind of group. Be it family or friends. It is a village themed restaurant. You will see nice monuments and structures with paitings. The food here is very yummy. specially the litti here we loved it. If you ever get an apportunity to be here please do visit this place you won't regret it.

The best thing about this place is the themed set up. It's beautiful and as the name suggests, Gaon Bati Chokha, it has a complete Gaon (village) set up. There are several statues and the sitting arrangement is like a Dhaba, string cots and simple concrete made seats. The Litti-chokha is amazing.. totally a must try. I had ghee litti and it was simply great. Things not to try- Lassi, Shahi paneer. Other items like roti, chicken dishes are pretty good. The quantity according to the rates is good. There's enough parking area and usually remains very less populated, mostly because of its location, it's a little outside the city center. Check out my pictures for more details.

One of the best family restaurant in ranchi . The staff is very quick with service and also the owner is very polite and humble. Had a once in a lifetime experience there. Will be planning to arrive anytime around 😊

The restaurant is a good big yes if your are going with your family. It's spacious and serve delicious food with good service. Just try it atleast once.

food was superb tried chilli lollipop boti kabab and tandoori chicken in starters and every item was tasty main course had variety and was delicious. drawback include poor atmosphere table hygiene issues... table had a slacky plastic cover which didn't impress at all inspite of having an open ground no facilities were there for open dinner. overall 4 star for a family dinner ...coz the food was brilliant & none of us 8 had any stomach issues even after such a heavy dinner.

The food is good but the service is pathetic...Once the waiter keeps food on your table(Don't bother to serve) they won't come again to ask for anything...They need to learn some politeness and the hospitality industry professionalism..I think that isn't their problem it's the problem of the restaurant owner, who should look into it

It is one of the best restaurant I ever visited! They have artifacts depicting village life......various structures there gives you the feel of a village....It is absolutely beautiful..... Coming to service....They have top quality service.... The place is neat and clean....and the staffs there are very well spoken and well behaved..... Coming to food, IT'S DELICIOUS....Deducted one star cause when you order curry....They don't have availability of half plate or something.....You gotta order full plate....And the quantity turns out to be too much for a single person to eat... Overall, I loved the place....And I m sure, anyone who goes there will love it.....MUST TRY !

Food are so tasty but our bill is 151 rs but his charge by better is 170 rs...it's a not good practice by hotel management.

My experience was bad , waiters over here are stubborn one of the waiter forcefully charged the tip from me ,since I was paying through the card the waiter himself entered the tip amount, and he entered the amount on his own will, althoug nobody served for us we served on our own , and while we where having dinner they were painting the bambo pillar which was smelling bad like kerosene they should done it when hotel is shut....

Quality of food is just awesome! They serve you steaming hot and fresh food.(Chinese, Indian, Thalis ) Staff behaviour is nice Statues ,figurines and interior that are beautifully hand made and painted... relates to the name of the restaurant"Gaon" .Makes you remember of our rich heritage filled rural India.

Best place for dinner

It's one of the best restaurant for family dinner and small party. Tasty and good quality food. Village scene inside the restaurant is awesome.

I think it should be rated in negative as the food quality was too bad & burnt naan was served. At last they said serve yourself as there is no staff . And the owner behaviour was the worst .i have never met such a kind of sloth person i have filed case against this restaurant in consumer forum as they have charged for the service which was not renderer.so i request not to plan hangout over here.

Ambience is best. Food is great. But service quality has room for improvement.
