A must visit temple. Situated at a hill top. The surrounding is clean. One can spend a good time in and outside the temple. The sunset has a surreal view from the top of the temple.

Jagannath Temple, Jagannathpur, Ranchi: A Divine Oasis in Urban Tranquility Nestled amidst the bustling cityscape of Ranchi, the Jagannath Temple (1691 AD) at Jagannathpur stands as a divine oasis, offering solace to the faithful and captivating the hearts of visitors with its spiritual aura. Situated in Khataal, Dhurwa, this sacred haven not only serves as a place of worship but also beckons all seeking a respite from the urban humdrum. The Jagannath Temple in Jagannathpur is a testament to architectural splendor. Its design echoes traditional Odishan architecture, adorned with intricate carvings and symbolic motifs. The temple's distinctive structure creates a visual allure, drawing devotees and art enthusiasts alike to admire its craftsmanship. Upon entering the temple precincts, a sense of spiritual serenity pervades the air. The rhythmic chants, the fragrance of incense, and the ambiance of devotion create a tranquil atmosphere. The sanctum, housing the deities Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra, becomes a sacred space for contemplation and prayer. The Jagannath Temple is a hub of cultural activities and religious celebrations. Festivals and rituals unfold with grandeur, showcasing the vibrant cultural tapestry of the region. Devotees and visitors are welcome to partake in these events, fostering a sense of community and shared spiritual joy. Set against the urban landscape, the temple is surrounded by well-maintained gardens and peaceful alcoves. The juxtaposition of divine tranquility against the city's energy creates a unique and harmonious setting, offering a space for both spiritual reflection and quiet contemplation. Conveniently located in Ranchi, the Jagannath Temple is easily accessible for both locals and tourists. Devotees are provided with well-managed entry points, offering facilities, and spaces for prayer. The temple administration ensures a smooth and enriching experience for all who come seeking spiritual solace. Beyond its spiritual role, the temple serves as a focal point for the local community. It becomes a gathering place for religious discourse, cultural exchanges, and social connections. The temple's role extends beyond worship, fostering a sense of unity and shared values among its devotees. The Jagannath Temple at Jagannathpur, Ranchi, transcends its role as a religious site. It stands as a symbol of cultural richness, architectural beauty, and spiritual sanctity in the heart of the city. Whether for devotion, cultural exploration, or a peaceful retreat, the temple welcomes all with open arms, offering a divine haven amidst the urban tapestry of Ranchi.

The idols were very beautiful. The temple gives a calm and peaceful vibe (luckily it's wasn't very crowded then). The temple is located at a height which gives a breathtaking view of the city along with the cricket stadium. The sunset here is lovely! There are multiple parking points - one that is close to the temple and another one where it would be needed to take the stairs to reach

Jagannath temple in Ranchi is a very old temple dated back to 17th century. At that time the communication was not so good with Puri. So those pilgrims of this region who could not visit Puri, might satisfy their devotion by visiting this place. It is located in Dhurwa, on a hill top. One can drive a car atop the hill to visit the temple. You can have a 360° magnificent landscape view of Ranchi from this place. There is also a temple dedicated to Sri Saiji near Jagannath temple.

The location was very nice considering it was in the city. I visited on a day when it was too crowded. Although it was a bit difficult to move around, the place was very lively. The temple seems to be a prominent place as there were marriages and weddings happening when I visited there. Definitely a good visit if someone's there in Ranchi and looking to chill around. There's Dhruva dam in the vicinity and the view of the city from up there is really nice.

It's a wonderful 250 year old temple. One of the few places in Ranchi where you can go and feel relaxed. Must go temple for everyone. I will suggest to take prashad with yourself as there is no any good stall to buy prashad there, you will only get coconut there. Overall a great destination for body as well as mind relaxation

Ancient Temple of Lord Jagannath Shubhadra and Balabhadra. Very beautiful view from the hill top. Bhog are available in the temple. One needs to take a token of it. During the Rath Yatra mela of 09 long days takes place. Built on a hilltop, visitors must climb the stairs or take a vehicle. Similar to the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, this temple is built in the same architectural style, although smaller, and similar to the Rath Yatra in Puri, an annual fair cum rath yatra is held at this temple in the month of Aashaadha, attracting thousands of tribal and non-tribal devotees[3] not only from Ranchi but also from neighbouring villages and towns and is celebrated with much pomp and vigor.

Must visit religious site in Ranchi. Jagannath Temple in Ranchi, is a 17th century temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath. It was built by king of Barkagarh Jagannathpur Thakur, Ani Nath Thakur in 1691. Completed on December 25, 1691, it is located about 10 km from the main town. The temple is on top of a small hillock. Built on the same architectural lines of Jagannath temple of Puri, the Jagannath temple in Ranchi is an equally important pilgrimage centre and major tourist attraction of Jharkhand. Jagannath Temple is an ideal place of worship for religious minds, no entry fee is applicable to visit the shrine,it remains open all days a week and total visit duration can be between 1 and 2 hours.

Second oldest Jagannath temple, next only to Puri. Built in the year 1691 on top of a small hill, which is 10 km away from Ranchi railway station. Clean and neat premises. Can walk around the temple abd enjoy the scenic beauty of Ranchi Stadium and Ranchi city. Apart from all above, one can pray to god peacefully here.

The replica of the Jagannath Temple at Puri, I loved the way it has been made, the temple is at 10 kms distance from City centre and that's the plus point about it that you're away from the Hoarseness and noise of the city, pollution free and is surrounded by spectacular view. A must visit. If you haven't visited yet, visit now. Don't forget to Carry your water bottles and snacks.

This temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath and is situated at the hilltop with a mesmerising view. The temple is very well maintained and beautiful. From the temple, you can get a view of Ranchi even you can get a glimpse of Rachi cricket stadium. It was very peaceful to spend time inside the temple even I had Prasad which cost me 50₹ and it was more than enough in a quantity.

We visited the Lord Jagannath Temple on a sunday morning. We had a very proper Darshan of the Lord!!! Few important tips: 1. The 4 wheeler parking space is around 30m. from the Temple. There are no buses which take you to the Temple. We preferred to use our car and walk hence there are few steps. 2. There is an excellent facility maintained by the Temple Authorities to store your shoes. I will advise not to carry any big bag with you. Best is to leave them behind in the safety of the hotel room or car. 3. Carry some lose change in your pocket for offering inside the Temple and for the beggars. 4. Upon entering the temple premises please head straight to the Lord Jagannath Temple. It is advisable to take the divine darshan of the Lord first. 5. Then visit all other temples situated on the Periphery of the Main Temple. 6. You can carry dry Bhog (Prasad) with you. 7. Very peaceful experience. The Very reason why one has to visit this temple in Ranchi!!!

People also take the vehicle route leading directly to the top. To facilitate the arduous climb to the top the management of the temple have made provisions for fresh water and the shade of a huge tree that many tourists generally make use of once they reach the top. The view of the city from the top is breathtaking. Note:- This image is not taken by me I have downloaded it from internet

One of the best places in Ranchi. Where one can go many times ... Very quiet atmosphere in the morning and evening to captivate anyone, on top of the hill where you can go by car. One can go there round the clock seven days a week without any ticket. From where you will have a beautiful view of the Legislative Assembly.

I am not sure if there is such a thing as review for places of worship. So this is simply a description of the mandir. It is a peaceful and tranquil place where worshipers can worship and others can enjoy a quiet and scenic view of the surroundings and Ranchi. Be careful when bringing senior citizens and watch out for your feet during summer.

Jagannath Mandir is something I cannot explain by words. It's so devine and energetic place that you fill with joy and your heart become so light that all no bad thoughts come to your mind. If you are near ranchi or in ranchi you must visit this place. This place is near my home I used to visit Jagannath Mandir everyday early in the morning but now.. when I shifted to my Hostel I miss those day so badly that whenever I get chance to go there I spend a lot of time sitting and praising Bhagwan Jagannath and the nature which is so calm and clear. During the Rath Yatra Lacks of People gather here to Celebrate Rath Yatra. Mela is organised for ten days every year during the rath yatra. Generally People use to go the Temple but every year Bhagwan Jagannath came out of the temple for the people. Thats Incredible India! 🚩
