Most famous hindu temple of ranchi. This temple give a scenic top view of ranchi city. Great place for the worship of lord Shiva mainly local call as PAHADI BABA Mandir. There is a lot of crowd during Sunday & Monday and obvio.. the festive season too specially in mahashivratri and Shravan month. To reach the top of this mandir u have to climb 400 step . Cleanliness is taken care very well & you will get a lot of comfort here.

Pahari Mandir is a temple located in hilltop in Ranchi the capital of Jharkhand. The temple is dedicated to Shiva.[1][2][3] This temple is located at 2140 feet above sea level and 350 feet above the ground. To reach the temple one has to climb 468 steps. The entire Ranchi city can be seen from the temple. Lord Shiva is worshiped in linga form in the hill temple. There is a large crowd of Shiva devotees come here during the month of Shivaratri and Sawan.[4] The story of the hill temple of Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, is very interesting. This temple of Lord Shiva situated on the mountain was in the possession of the British before the independence of the country and they used to hang the Freedom Fighters here. Since Independence, the national flag is also hoisted with Independence Day and Republic Day along with religious flags on this temple. This is the first temple in the country where the tricolor is hoisted. This temple of Lord Shiva, located 7 km from Ranchi railway station, is known as Pahari Temple. The old name of the Pahari Baba temple was Tiriburu, which later changed to 'Hanging Garry' in British times, because Freedom Fighters were hanged here under the British rule. After independence, the first tricolor flag was hoisted here in Ranchi, which was hoisted by a freedom fighter Krishna Chandra Das of Ranchi. He hoisted the tricolor in memory and honor of the martyred Freedom Fighters here. Since that time, the tricolor is hoisted here on Independence Day and Republic Day every year. There is a stone in the hill temple, on which the message of freedom of the country is written on the midnight of August 14 and 15, 1947.

LORD SHIVA, the CREATOR and DESTROYER, is very hard to find, but once you are nearby HIM, all your troubles and worries are vanished, you will feel the change within yourself. Probably PAHARI MANDIR, Ranchi is the best place to fell the SHIVA MAGIC. 400+ stairs ...a little bit difficult for elders and children but you are searching for GOD of GODS, a little bit difficulty is negligible. And once you are inside of this HILL TEMPLE ( that's why the name Pahari Mandir), your journey will surely be rewarded.

Pahadi Mandir is located in the center of ranchi city. Pahadi Mandir is on of the important temple in Ranchi. It the the highest temple in Ranchi. You can see the view of ranchi from the top of it. It is very crowded in Mahashivratri and during the Shravan month. Lacks of people visit Pahadi Mandir on Mahashivratri. People starts to visit the temple from 2am on Mahashivratri and the crowd keeps on coming till midnight. At night Barat of Shiva is organised which is very beautiful.

Smriti Mandir is a part of YSS(Yogoda Satsanga Society of India). Devotees come here to learn and practice Kriya Yoga (Meditation). It is a serene, peaceful and quite place. One can find more information on their website, or one can come here observe the place and have a chat in the office.

Pahari mandir is situated 7 km away from Ranchi railway station at Ratu road. This temple is situated at the top of the fansi hill and dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is well mentained and requires more than 350 steps to tapping up.Probably it is the only temple in India where national flag is hoisted on 15 th august everyyear. The entire city is visible from that temple. This is a Shiv temple that is atop a hill. The walk up the hill has been convenienced by a flight of proper granite stairs. There are around 400 steps in the stairs (you need not count them as each step is numbered). The temple at the top is very cramped for space. Not a very busy temple for this reason. Moreover, sightseeing from the top of the hill has not been facilitated. So it very difficult to catch a decent glimpse of the city from the top. Probably to deter too much people from coming and spending too much time as the temple is cramped for space.

I came here when I had to come to Central University of Ranchi, so I found this temple on the way, so I and my friend Naveen went to visit it. One has to climb about 400 stairs to go up the hill. These are the stairs of the temple itself which lead up to the temple. This is the temple of Lord Shankar, Hanuman and also of Maa Durga.I liked one thing very much here that after reaching the top of this temple and looking at the city of Ranchi, I saw a different view, I liked it very much, I knew that I wish I would be able to come here again sometime, maybe if it is possible then I will again

Pahadi Mandir, perched atop a hill in Ranchi, is a captivating spiritual retreat that seamlessly blends religious fervor with breathtaking natural beauty. The journey to the temple involves a moderate trek, adding an adventurous touch to the pilgrimage. As you ascend, the cityscape unfolds beneath, treating pilgrims to panoramic views that become more mesmerizing with each step. Upon reaching the summit, the Pahadi Mandir welcomes visitors with its serene ambiance. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the tranquil surroundings make it an ideal spot for prayer and contemplation. Devotees often find solace in the simplicity of the temple's architecture, which exudes a timeless charm. The panoramic vista from the temple's vantage point is the real highlight. It offers a sweeping panorama of Ranchi, allowing visitors to appreciate the city's topography against the backdrop of the lush landscape. The view is particularly enchanting during sunrise and sunset, creating a surreal experience for those seeking a spiritual connection with nature. While the temple holds cultural significance and is a sacred place for devotees, some visitors have suggested improvements in maintenance to enhance the overall experience. Nevertheless, the pilgrimage to Pahadi Mandir remains a memorable and enriching journey, combining devotion, adventure, and the sheer beauty of the natural surroundings. For anyone in Ranchi, this hilltop temple is a must-visit, providing a unique blend of spirituality and scenic splendor.

An enchanting and serene atmosphere awaits at this temple. Nestled in the heart of the city, it stands as a prominent icon within the community. Ascending its 400 steps, a tranquil ambiance envelopes you, offering a profound sense of peace. To truly immerse yourself, I recommend experiencing the Aarti ritual at 6:30pm – a time when the spiritual aura is truly captivating.

Paramahansa Yogananda Smriti Mandir, build in 1995 to replace the former Dhyana Mandir on the Spot Where Paramahansaji had the momentous visit that called him to America in 1920, as described in Authbiography of a Yogi, Chapter 37. In his Autobiography, Paramahansaji writes: "America! Surely these people are Americans!" This was my thought as a panorama of Western faces passed before my inward view. Immersed in meditation, I was sitting behind some dusty boxes in the storeroom of the Ranchi school....The vision continued; a vast multitude, gazing at me intently, swept actorlike across the stage of consciousness. On this very sacred spot stands the Smriti Mandir, a tall hexagonal all marble temple with decorative lace wall on all the sides and a large lotus dome, a memorial to the world wide mission that took its first step there.

You can visit here with your family members. The scenery of Ranchi from the top of the mountain is really amazing during sunset and sunrise in summer. There are many temples at this location for Hindu. There are about 400 steps way to the pahari temple. There are many attractive places for photography. But there are some disadvantages at this place is that all sellers are doing a great business in the name of God.They will ask double for everything you buy here.So Please buy your own puja samagri from any other places.

Pahari mandir is one of the oldest temple and is situated at the peak of the mountain of ranchi in the form of shivling. The distance of pahari mandir from ranchi junction is approx. 6km away. It is in kumhartoli road. One have to cover more than 400 upstairs for the darshan of bhagwaan shiv. There are some bench to relax if you're tired going upstairs. Also there are some photo booth. From the top of the pahari mandir one can enjoy sky view of Ranchi city, which is so attractive. There is also a point where devotees tied the manokaamna chunri.

This place is auspicious for worshipping where you can worship Lord Shiva as Shivling is established after that you can worship Devi Maa as well. Before reaching inside you have to go through 400 stairs. If you have respect and belief you won't feel any tiredness while climbing. Have faith in god, you will reach your destination in no time. Last but not least, there are plenty of shops near the starting point from where you can buy Puja ki Samagri for Chadhava, and Later, You can see a beautiful bird of view of Ranchi and once you come back you can eat delicious food items from nearby hotels.

It is half kilometre from Ratu Road traffic police chowk. The hill offers a birdeye view of the capital city Ranchi. It is also called “PhansiTongri”, by the local villagers.

More than peace, i found myself somewhat Euphoric here. Bliss in my mind and body. One thing is sure, this Bliss will come ONLY when we will TRY, never by just imagining.

It is historical place related to revered yogi and mystic shri Paramhansa Yogananda whose wrote probably the world's most famous yogic book called ' Autobiography of a Yogi'. He has spent time here. Under a leafy Lichi tree he taught Yog. This campus has administrative office, beautiful Meditation hall, a school, etc. His smriti mandir which is like white lotus in green verdant surrounding is very calming. One forgets all worldly worries on reaching here. The campus has beautiful flower plants and other plants. A shiv temple is also there. Its an extremely soothing experience to visit here.

Pahari Mandir is very famous place of Ranchi. It also a place of tourist attractions. This temple is located on a high mountain and we have to climb many stairs to reach at the top. It is located in Ratu Road area. Many devotees come here everyday. I went there seven or eight years ago when i used to live in Ranchi.

This place is as beautiful as ever. They have now build a shed on the stairs and also the stairs are colorfully numbered which makes the experience even more delightful. One can view the full city from pahadi mandir.

Lord Shiva on a hilltop. A must visit for the devout in Ranchi. Well constructed steps take you to the temple at the top and once you reach the top you can have a bird's view of the city. Devotees visit this place frequently and also on the tourist circuit in Ranchi.

Har Har Mahadev 🙏🙏 Love this place I often go to this place as I am a devotee of lord Shiva. Must visit this place if you in love with Mahadeva. Cleanliness maintained on the stairs around 350 of stairs you will have to climb to reach the Pahadi Baba(Lord shiva). You will find the very eternal peace there. You could view the whole Ranchi and beautiful scenery from there as well.

Bestest place in Pahadi baba is the magical place where you feel the sanity of the nature and the presence of Lord together. Pahadi baba has is and will always protect Ranchi from any calamities. Jai Shiv

If you want to see a beautiful view of Ranchi city and also want to worship Lord Shiva, then visit the Pahadi Mandir once. Here cleanliness is taken care of to some extent and you will get a lot of comfort here. There is a lot of crowd here during the festive season, so it is best to come here during the festival season only. Clean water has been arranged below and above the temple. There are also some shops around the temple from where you can shop. You have to climb a total of about 400 steps to reach the main temple. Taking pictures is not prohibited, so you can take pictures without any worries.

This temple is so famous in ranchi . The location of this temple is 6 km near the main city. I have visited with our friends. There are 400 stairs in this temple to go top of the temple . It takes around 20 min to complete 400 stairs for me. Hillside Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shankara, offering sweeping views of the countryside. The topmost view is awesome .

  • 5/5 Shashank S. 9 months ago on Google
The temple is located at a beautiful place but not isolated. The traffic moves by the temple. It has some 400+ stairs, all numbered. The stairs are all covered and you don't feel much tired. Incase you do, there is plenty of space to sit and rest for some time in between. Drinking water is also available at places. As you enter the main temple, there is a slow moving queue with approx wait time of 30 mins. I visited on weekend; despite having crowd, we took out time and did our prayers calmly, there was sufficient time.
