I liked it good place for military personnel and their dependents for shopping of grocery, Household items and electronic appliance as well as liquor.

Person who belongs to Army background and have canteen card can only visit this place. Here you can find all range of things including Eatables, personal care, all Household things etc. The Army People over there are really polite and helpful. Keep all your belongings outside in stand, they have a space over there. Due to covid you have to prior book your slot online before visiting and due to covid there is hassle free shopping.

Cockerel Canteen is one of the biggest army CSD Canteen in Ranchi. Lots of people from Defence reside in Ranchi. Specially Ex serviceman of defence services. They are highly dependent on this canteen. It opens 9am to 1pm and 2:30 to 4:30 or 5pm, little bit of time hardly of 30min changes according to season. Wednesday is closed day and try to avoid visiting on last two days of the month, as most probably those days will be for MSTB. You can join WhatsApp group for latest update. Here collection of variety is very large, but essential items for daily need finishes within 3-4 days of arrival of new stock. This issue is to be rectified. In canteen campus, there is very good refreshment shop specially for Momo. Cheapest in Ranchi and having traditional taste. Be aware of some bad elements there, although they are very few but they are. They try to steal your costly purchased items, when you are busy on adjusting your all items. Case has been registered like this.

Recently, I visited this place. Now online appointment is mandatory for shoping from this canteen. There were lots of items available in the canteen. Due to online appointment, no rush in the canteen. We purchased hassle free. There is a waiting area outside the canteen with chairs and fans. Toilets are very dirty and not maintained properly. When I visited, there was no water supply in toilet.

Grocery stores was almost empty. AFD items were available. Comparatively less crowded.

The gate man behaved very rudely towards us.Canteen is not good.

Being an Army establishment, all sorts of COVID19 precaution has been taken. I felt very safe while visiting this place. This is exclusively for armed forces and their dependents since the rates are very low. Besides canteen, there is also an office to support ex army personnel. Nice work Indian Army.

Due to army area, here decipline is maintained. You have got everything here. The place is very clean parking facility is available, army personnel behaviour is very good.

You need an army card to buy items from here. Products got cleared very quickly due to high demand and discounted price. You should check in early to get your things.

Well maintained, following all Covid norms. Appointment is needed for purchasing in CSD canteen, so always came with prior appointment. Being defence area, it's a safest place too.
