There is a plus size lady that I think is in her late 30s or early 40s (didnā€™t catch her name and I donā€™t care to learn it, it isnā€™t worth learning) that works the front deskā€¦ She needs a vacation or a nap orā€¦ new jobā€¦ orā€¦ Somethingā€¦ She is incredibly rude and every single time we have interacted with her she has an absolute chip on her shoulder both in person and on the phone. I have honestly considered asking her what the hell her problem is but donā€™t want to make a scene and she isnā€™t worth the hassle. I love the rest of the staff and they are incredibly helpful, friendly and supportive and always willing to answer any questions or anything else we needā€¦ Weā€™ve been going here almost 20 years and despite some staff changes weā€™ve always been very happy with the service weā€™ve been givenā€¦ That lady needs a hug though. Seriously, if your job sucks that much, find another one, but donā€™t take it out on the people giving you money for your paycheck. All we did is show up for our appointment, sorry weā€™re such a bother. šŸ™„

I was extremely apprehensive to drop my dog off and leave him with this facility, for the day, for urgent care. He had a foxtail in his toe. They immediately fell in love with him, walked him into the back. He never looked back and I feel comfortable that they took good care of him.

My former veterinarian could not see my large dog but Sunrise got him in and removed a splinter from his tonsil. When I saw the invoice I was amazed!! They got him in, treated him like a rockstar AND their pricing was great. I now see them for all visits for both of my pets. They are AMAZING.

Our vet clinic( who had been our dogs vet for 12 yrs, said we had to take our baby to another hospital when we called. They ARE a hospital and know her. We were devastated because we knew she was passing. My son called many places and finally, when he called Sunrise, they said to immediately bring her in. We did. I didnā€™t want to hand her over because I was afraid she would pass without me. The doctor came in and explained what she advised. We said goodbye to her around 12:30 pm. There is one person at this clinic who made everything a bit better. I never got her name but she sits at the front desk and had her hair pulled back. She hugged me and reassured us that my baby would be given respect and love from the time we walked in till the time they transferred her for her cremation. I was a wreck. She was 15 and the keeper of my secrets. Thank you to the doctor and that one office person who helped me. Honestly, the others really just sat there while we were sad, scAred and had questions. I do recommend this hospital only because of the one office lady who helped me through everything including a hug.

Sunrise Blvd Animal Hospital put my girl dogā€™s quality of life over the possibility of making $6,000-7,000 off me. I scheduled an appointment simply to get a 2nd opinion. Two of their veterinarians & the cardiologist they work with all contributed to my decision not to have the surgery at this time. Let me explain, her last vet found a mass on her spleen and quoted $6-7,000 with 2-3 dayā€™s hospitalization to remove it. Since my previous dog had his spleen removed w/o the need for hospitalization I figured it was their ā€œcorporate protocolā€ to pre-determine the need for 3 days of hospitalization prior to seeing how she did. So I decided to get the 2nd opinion. Sunrise Blvd Animal Hospital suggested a chest X-ray w/the rationale that if the mass was cancerous and had already spread I might want to consider whether I wanted to put her through a painful surgery or not. They noticed her heart was enlarged & the echocardiogram showed 2 heart conditions resulting in 3 of her 4 heart valves not sealing properly. The cardiologist recommended not putting her under anesthesia at that time. They put her on meds and recommended she have a repeat echocardiogram in 3 months. Thankfully the meds resolved the symptoms I had attributed to her spleen mass and her quality of life has returned. Itā€™s only been 1 1/2 months & I donā€™t know how long she has left but she likely wouldnā€™t have survived being put under anesthesia with her heart having to work so hard. The vet pointed out that although they canā€™t guarantee the mass isnā€™t cancer, the cytology done by her previous vet did not indicate cancerous cells. So it seems the risk of not removing the mass is likely lower than the risk of putting her under anesthesia. We can re-evaluate after her next echocardiogram. I have an anxious rescue Pitbull. Weā€™ve tried several veterinarians before finding Sunrise Blvd Animal Hospital, she actually wags her tail there instead of tucking it like she did everywhere else. She likes their staff, techs and doctors letting them examine her rather than tensing every muscle so they canā€™t feel anything or escaping and running behind me. I am grateful for all who work there. Update 4/18/23 for those who may have worried that the wrong choice was made for my Beautiful Mattie girl dog. Unfortunately her spleen mass started bleeding into her abdomen. I took her to an emergency veterinary hospital (it was a Sunday). They didnā€™t recommend surgery b/c it was ā€œvery high riskā€ but the option of euthanasia made the risk worthwhile b/c it wasnā€™t about the money. Well Dr Hacia and Dr McFarlane along with the cardiologist they contract with (forgot name sorry) were right. Her heart wasnā€™t strong enough to be put under anesthesia. So in my view they gave me more quality time with my girl than I would have had if I listened to her original veterinary hospital. I also want to say the staff were very thoughtful and kind afterwards. Corporations are taking over the field of veterinary medicine but itā€™s refreshing to know that Dr Hacia & the staff remain true to their callings and put patient care above profits. Which if corporations paid any attention thatā€™s what brings in and keeps clients/customers/patients. Thank you to all who met & cared for my Mattie girl.

I made an appointment to try to get a checkup and immunizations for a stray cat that has taken up residence in my yard. I managed to get an appointment a week or so from when I called. I ended up catching the cat and bringing it in, but I misremembered the date. Completely my fault. But hey they offered to let me drop the cat off and pick it up in the morning. Fantastic, right? But no, that wouldn't be an option after all. I don't know why they offered the service before checking if they could actually do it. Then as I'm outside trying to catch the cat again I get a phone call telling me I was late. Yes I know. I'm trying to catch a stray cat for the second day in a row. They were rude and condescending to me. I suppose I don't fully understand why they felt the need to tell me I was late and ask me if I was still coming before telling me that the appointment was forfeited. I was perfectly clear that this was not really my pet and that it was feral. There's just this bizzarro bait and switch that they kept pulling. That coupled with the attitude and condescension has led me to choose a different vet.

This was my first time here and my cat Homer received wonderful care. The staff was helpful, friendly and overall I felt like my cat was well cared for. The Vet who treated Homer called me twice to talk about what our treatment plan was and once for a follow up. He didn't rush off the phone, he took his time explaining and listening to me and when he called to follow up he remembered all the details of our first conversation. Sunrise Blvd Animal Hospital just earned my business for all 4 of my cats and future pets.

Sunrise BLVD ANIMAL HOSPITAL Well, my dog was referred by my veterinarian to Sunrise Blvd Animal Hospital for neutering surgery. Initially, my dog was scheduled for surgery on May 1st with our veterinarian; however, I got my dog returned to me because I requested to do a scrotal ablation for a couple of reasons: my dog #1 is bold (genetic); #2 not going to grow anymore (2 years old); so, I wanted a scrotal to be removed. My veterinarian made a big deal of the scrotal ablation; so, surgery was canceled. Long story short, I got initial consultation appointment with Sunrise Blvd Animal Hospital in the same week when contacted and was scheduled quickly, on May, 22. The initial appointment was very informative, we discussed all the details; my dog felt in love with the doctor. My dog got surgery for unilateral cryptorchid (one testicle was retained inside and one out) + scrotal ablation + umbilical hernia; so, he had a big cut on his belly and under his tail; it was all on Monday; and on Wednesday, in two days, my very hyper dog was ready to play and jump; I needed to do good job to keep him calm, not jump and play; avoiding any licking, etc.We did not have any problems: no bleeding, all stitches stayed very well. Dr. Kyle Hacia DVM did very good job. Also, I wanted to express my appreciation to a doctor who did the consultation appointment; unfortunately, I do not have a name. Also, I appreciate, a vet tech who professionally explained the details of the surgery procedure. Thank you so much, Sunrise BLVD Animal Hospital! šŸ˜Š
