After much hype, I decided to try this spot. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience. The service to start was ok, I got my coffee pretty soon after I ordered. When I got my veggie burrito, it looked great from the outside. But it was pretty soft overall, so I didn’t notice until I was almost finished with the first half when I saw slimy egg white slide out in a string into a pool on the plate. I know how to make a sunny side egg and this was clearly not cooked properly, the top of the egg white should still be set (white, not clear) with the egg yolk runny. I was really grossed out by the texture and upset because it wasn’t a sunny egg. I was going to leave, but I felt they should know these eggs aren’t getting cooked properly. One of their employees tried to tell me “well it’s a pork belly burrito” (which in the menu doesn’t appear to include eggs?), and I had to confirm it was indeed a veggie burrito. Very disappointing to have to explain myself after showing them the pool of albumen on the plate. They then offered to recook and or refund, but it definitely didn’t feel genuine or that they were sorry so I told them to just please cook their eggs for their next customers. Could hear them laughing at that as I walked out, which was unbelievably rude. I would have totally have come another time or tried something else if it weren’t for the way they handled it, definitely didn’t feel good to experience. Please do better.

they bake all pastries in house. the kale salad has fermented meyer lemon juice. the seating outside is loud, right by the road, the pedestrians and their dogs are cute.

Mushroom bowl was good! Also, very reasonably priced with large portions. Arnold Palmer was good too.

Doubting Thomas is an interesting name for a cafe. I have no doubt about this though: it is an exciting place to get pastries and breakfasts. I visited Doubting Thomas on several occasions and always find something nice to try. I started with the croissants as always. In fact, even though the cafe opens at 7am, the butter croissant wasn't available until around 8am during that visit. But then of course it is served fresh off the oven. It's not the flakiest or crunchiest croissant I had, but the fresh warmth elevated the experience, plus the big portion and the simmering golden layers, I think it's worth the wait. When it comes to chocolate croissants, freshness means melted chocolate filling and I absolutely loved it. The ham and cheese croissant, however, was underwhelming. One other croissant I had was an almond croissant with passion fruit filling. The filling overflowed and created a little cascade as I pressed the croissant for the bite, what a delicious mess! Doubting Thomas pastry offering usually features a pie of the week. I especially enjoyed the banoffee pie. Its cream is light and its sweetness is subtle, yet combined with banana, cocoa, and caramel, it is a divine treat. I had it for breakfast and had no guilt about it. While I was there mostly to get pastries, I did try the breakfast sandy (homemade biscuit, sunny egg, sausage, cheddar, arugula, mayonnaise) and enjoyed the fresh ingredients and delicate presentation. Their food menu is rather extensive: toasts, burritos, pancakes, salads, even chicken katsu! For some items, maybe a bit expensive too.

Great brunch spot. Excellent customer service. Amazing food. Worth every penny but prices are in the $$ range so budget eaters are encouraged to come prepared. Great selection of baked goods too. Flavors are unique and the menu is really well designed. The ambiance is great. I recommend the veggie quesadilla (it's amongst one of the popular items). Will return for more 🙃

A bit noisy on the weekends, but overall a really nice cafe with plenty of natural lighting (large windows), good seatings, and outlets! Food is also pretty good and latte with vanilla bean syrup is BOMB!!

Super cute LA cafe in the filipinotown area!! Came here for lunch with a friend and I was really satisfied with the presentation of the food. I got the pork belly rice bowl, which came with brown rice and the pork belly meat was really good. The lettuce was in chunks and not cut up which I thought was interesting — for convenience I think I would’ve preferred it cut up into smaller pieces but it wasn’t a big deal! I had the iced matcha latte with almond milk — it was alright, average matcha latte and more on the watery side. It may have been because I chose almond milk instead of oat milk though. My friend had the breakfast dish — which she liked and an extra hot matcha latte with oat milk. We got the chocolate banana bread which was sweet and good, and the banoff (I think that’s how they spelt it) which looks like tiramisu but it’s a seasonal special where you can only get it at this time. It’s all cream on top with banana and a sweet caramel glazed tart bottom — I think regular tiramisu tastes a lot better, not the biggest fan of it & it was super sweet so just kept making you want more. I really liked the seating here - there’s outdoor and indoor and the architecture of it was good. Ample street parking around the block. It doesn’t feel like the safest place to meander and walk around but the cafe itself is good. It’s a great neighborhood gem / local gem type of place!! The servers / barista were super kind and gentle which I appreciated. Service was fast too. Good Customer service always makes a place shine. Overall great place to grab pastries and coffee… and quick lunch!!

Went twice in one week because I couldn’t stop thinking about the Fig Leaf cold brew. I had the quesadilla with short rib on my first visit and the biscuits and gravy on my second visit. Both were delicious. I’d also recommend the tangerine roll - kind of a panettone flavor profile in a cinnamon roll shape. Expect to pay roughly $20 for meal and beverage, and be sure to ask for silverware when you order. There is outdoor and indoor seating - first come first serve. Dog friendly and an interesting atmosphere. Would definitely come back.

One of the best brunches I've had in LA. The pastrami may have been the best I've ever had and that's including KATZ deli in NY. Tender and juicy, complex notes and Creative supplementary elements.

This place does NOT disappoint. The doubtless breakfast burrito is the singular best burrito I've ever had. The chocolate rye cake with nectarines will haunt my dreams until I get to eat it again it was THAT good.

A hidden gem in LA. Taste and quality of pastries are beyond my expectation. Cozy place and good vibe with staff. Coming back to hangout with friends.

It was pretty good. Extremely overpriced when you consider the tiny portion size. The coffee was amazing though- I’ll come back for that but not the food. Service was extremely friendly so that was nice.

Absolutely delicious. I had a pain au chocolat and pork belly rice bowl, both stunningly flavorful. Everything from the texture to the presentation was perfectly executed. The produce taste fresh, and so do the pastries. I can’t recommend this place enough! (+ bonus points for the service, water fountain, and atmosphere!)

This place was recommend by multiple friends and it absolutely lives up to the hype All the food is designed and made so intentionally and it shows. My partner LOVED the Doubtless Breakfast Burrito, passion fruit pie, chocolate banana bread, and the matcha I adored my vegan burrito and the biscuit and fresh jam was a delightful surprise, but all the pastries and cakes are amazing

Very clean and modern breakfast joint/coffee shop. The pastries look next level; the breakfast burrito was delicious! Solid Yukon Smashed Potatoes

I've been looking to diversify my breakfast burrito lineup of Wake And Late and Cafe Los Feliz, so I decided to give this place a shot on a whim. To my surprise, the food was absolutely delicious. The Doubtless Breakfast Burrito had perfectly crispy/crunchy potatoes, gooey sunny side up eggs, and tender pork that was balanced wonderfully with the acidity of the side salsa and picked onions. It's safe to say that this spot is going into the rotation.
