Amazing dog beach! Just an amazing beach in general! There are two side but both sides accept dogs! I think this was the highlight of our trip! Our puppers from landlocked Denver, Colorado had a time of their lives. A core memory was unlocked. 10/10 Recommend. Will be back! Best part is it's free!

Dog surfing competition today! Lots of dogs and lots of fun. After labour day dogs can be off leash so there are always plenty of dogs here.

The first dog friendly beach I've visited in San Diego. I was very impressed. According to some of the locals it's the best one in the city. There's a decent beach break for bodyboarding and surfing and a beautiful bluff for hiking and scenic views.

Great place to bring dogs to play by the beach. Plenty of sandy shore to run on and long strand of beach to walk and play by. Also has a beautiful walk in a community garden with funky sculptures and pretty flowers to walk through at the entrance

Just a lovely place to go if you like dogs. They are so happy here. They run around and swim happily. There’s also a volleyball court and people are always playing there. It’s also bide to swim!

A beautiful sandy beach and river mouth. Be careful and pay attention to the tidal currents. Once a year there is a dog surfing contest held there supporting Helen Woodward to Animal center! Not that dogs are not allowed on the north bluff trail that overlooks Del Mar. Both are very special places.

Our favorite spot to take our pup while we’re in the area! Not a huge beach but the beautiful little garden and hike at the top of the ridge make this a special spot! If you catch the beach at low tide there’s so much more to explore headed north if you time it right!

Incredible views and even better dogs. Parking costs $3/hour and it is worth every penny. Owners were super friendly and dogs were pretty well behaved :)

I really love Del Mar Dog Beach, especially during low tides. The area is huge with enormous space to let my pup run free. The sunsets are incredible and walking the beach at low tide next to the cliffs has a unique awe to it. My dog loves it as well. What I don't care for are: Some people either don't care or don't watch their dogs enough to clean up after them. Some pet owners bring dogs that are aggressive, bite other dogs, like mine, and either just laugh about it, ignore it, or get aggressive towards me when I try to keep their aggressive dog away from my dog, saying that's what dogs do. Not cool. It's happening more in my last few visits than then on the past. Starting to compare with OB dog Beach. The paid parking - having to pay for parking to use public spaces

Wonderful beach - pup had a blast. Leashes required this time of year, mostly adhered to & there were a few patrols. Parking (4th of July weekend) was tough. I would say 5 stars except there’s no water to rinse you or your dog off & we desperately needed it after a big afternoon of play!

I love this place! Always clean and most dogs are well behaved. Off leash dog beach with lots of happy dogs running around but busy road is right there so please watch your dogs and drive carefully when in the area. Have seen a dog or two dart right into traffic. There are porta potties, a water fountain at the entrance, tennis ball lending tub, and a water basin to wash the paws. Check in advance and go when the tide is low. When the tide is high, everyone is limited to a small stretch of beach. Great place to catch the sunset.

Visiting the area and took my Basset Hound here for her 14th birthday. Figured she's been to the Atlantic why not visit the Pacific. She's not really into the water but liked laying on the cool sand. Parking is a pay at the station thing. I was there on a Monday so it wasn't too busy and close parking was available. Just need to walk down the hill (steep in some spots) but there is a walkway downl in the center. She met a few other pups playing on the beach. Very nice location. Pretty scenic. And fun to watch the dogs running around free playing.

Lots of dogs! Everyone was very friendly and all the dogs played well together. Easy parking on the street (VERY limited parking for the designated beach parking). Only off leash until 8am until after Labor Day. Good times!

Awesome beach this time of year, had the dog off the leash and greeting other dogs. Was a great place to make great memories and get the dog some exercise too.

Love this place because I can take my pooch! Note that memorial day to Labor Day, during the tourist season, you must put your dogs on a leash. Otherwise they don't care for the off-season β€” which naturally makes it great! I've never had any problems with dogs who couldn't behave. So please do NOT take your dog here if they're not able to get along with other dogs!! **Check for where the tide is. You want to be there closer to low tide otherwise you might it stuck when the tide comes in, between some rocks that extend out toward the ocean.

Beautiful and clean! Took my pup there and she loved every minute of it. Friendly pet owners and space to lay out and enjoy the sun. Definitely going back.

This is a great place to bring your dog. During the summer months dogs must be on leash but after summer, most dogs are off leash. For the most part; all dogs are pretty good with other dogs. Ive never witnessed a dog fight. But my dog on the other hand isnt use to dogs as much, so it takes her a minute to get in her play mode with other dogs. Also great place to bring kids if you have them. My daughter loves swimming in the channel & its pretty safe ( there are stingrays) i tell my daughter to shuffle her feet when walking in the above knee part of the water. You d o have to pay for parking & it might take a while to find one.

Have taken my dog here and live the fact that every dog must be on leash....there are "patrols" making sure that I'd happening. Was able to find parking relatively fast (off street parking, must pay parking and display ticket on car dashboard). Loved the fact that they had tennis balls for one to play with our dogs and we just wash and return when done using them.
