Honestly an incredibly sad state. Such an important part of history that is currently locked up and overgrown. Tragically, not worth a special trip but perhaps a drive by is you are in the vicinity.

Leaking toilets, Overgrown lawns, and not looked after. The place is a mess. In its current form it will not attract visitors and those who visited it will definitely not coming back anytime soon. If looked after it can be a tourist attraction

Not very well maintained and the exhibitions give little context. Sad to see such a necessary acknowledgement so neglected

We come here once a year to commemorate the Sharpeville Day. A very peaceful place with dam alongside it. Very ideal for picnics.

The Sharpeville Memorial buildings is a big reminder of a turning piont in South African History which should be looked after and be available for all to see and hear about the sacrifices and determination of people wanting to live free as one in this new South Africa. Observation made. Not one security personnel was noted throughout our walk. Thar said it all. The community looks after the whole building. Which was found to be clean and very well looked after. Well done Sharpeville. Thanks

Very historic and nostalgic type of vibe eminating from the arts shown throughout the township. The Sharpeville Precinct is also inviting as free wifi is available to the neighbours and guest that have visited the place/area.

A truly moving experience, to be at the epicenter of where it all happened. I recommend being there on Human Rights Day, to get the full experience.

History and Heritage of Sharpeville well preserved for future generations to heal from the atrocities of past Apartheid South Africa. To never forget the 1960 Sharpeville massacre. To never forget that the tree from which we enjoy the shade of freedom was nourished by the blood that has been shed... Viva Kalusha Mahlangu... People's protest against Pass Laws enslaving SA Black Majority meted with utmost vicious malitary force. 64 people mowed down with a Saracen Tank by Apartheid SA military and security forces... Never and Never again...

The information accessible and exhibitions are mundane. Center management could do better to document and communicate the story of sharpevill

(Translated by Google) The memorial honors the struggle for freedom. It is also not anti-communist. The state should take better care of it. Long live the fight for freedom and genuine socialism. (Original) Das Mahnmal würdigt den Freiheitskampf. Es ist auch nicht antikommunistisch. Es sollte vom Staat besser gepflegt werden. Long live the fight for freedom and genuine socialism.
