Visited the Sharpeville Memorial site.Started at the Phelindaba cemetry very disappointing. The place is in a mess. Im hopeful that the Arts and Culture ministry or Municipality will sort it out soon

Honestly an incredibly sad state. Such an important part of history that is currently locked up and overgrown. Tragically, not worth a special trip but perhaps a drive by is you are in the vicinity.

Leaking toilets, Overgrown lawns, and not looked after. The place is a mess. In its current form it will not attract visitors and those who visited it will definitely not coming back anytime soon. If looked after it can be a tourist attraction

The Sharpeville Memorial buildings is a big reminder of a turning piont in South African History which should be looked after and be available for all to see and hear about the sacrifices and determination of people wanting to live free as one in this new South Africa. Observation made. Not one security personnel was noted throughout our walk. Thar said it all. The community looks after the whole building. Which was found to be clean and very well looked after. Very historic and nostalgic type of vibe eminating from the arts shown throughout the township. The Sharpeville Precinct is also inviting as free wifi is available to the neighbours and guest that have visited the place/area.
