Went
for
an
implant
consultation,
was
told
by
the
receptionist
the
day
before
it
was
free
of
charge.
I
sent
her
my
X-rays
that
were
done
by
a
previous
dentist
in
the
last
8
months.
The
dentist
was
nice
and
knowledgeable
however
insisted
on
doing
more
X-rays
and
carried
out
a
check
up
without
asking
me.
I
was
then
taken
back
to
the
receptionist
and
he
told
her
it
was
a
‘no
gap’.
I
explained
to
the
receptionist
that
the
day
before
the
receptionist
had
said
it
was
complimentary
and
she
wrote
a
note
in
the
system.
She
just
said
it’s
ok
it’s
just
through
your
health
fund.
She
then
changed
the
subject
cross
selling
other
packages
and
asked
me
to
do
a
review
3
times
saying
they’d
give
a
discount
for
a
review
(hence
such
good
reviews)
The
total
‘complimentary’
bill
to
my
health
fund
was
$244.50.
They
charged
my
health
fund:
$82.50
for
‘dietary
advice’
(none
was
given
whatsoever)
$82.50
for
‘oral
hygiene
instruction’
(none
was
given’
$82.50
for
‘Tobacco
counselling’
(I
don’t
smoke,
he
just
asked
if
I
smoked)
$150
for
panoramic
x-ray
$94.50
for
a
comprehensive
exam.
Luckily
my
health
fund
didn’t
cover
most
of
the
requested
however
it
covered
some
of
the
X-ray.
The
receptionist
then
asked
me
to
go
to
my
doctor
with
the
referral
form
she
has
written
up
to
request
a
referral
for
the
X-ray
they
had
just
carried
out
so
they
can
claim
the
amount
from
Medicare.
So
doubling
up
on
costs
back.
This
is
a
perfect
example
as
to
why
Medicare
doesn’t
pay
for
hardly
anything
anymore
and
a
prime
reason
our
heart
funds
keep
increasing.
I
confronted
the
receptionist
once
I
had
given
her
my
doctor
referral
for
them
to
claim
on
the
charges
regarding
the
tobacco
counselling
etc
and
she
didn’t
have
an
answer
for
it.
I
then
when
home
and
called
again
to
query
the
double
charge
for
the
X-ray.
They
offered
to
refund
me
part
of
the
charge
that
my
health
fund
paid
off
$67.40
saying
it
was
an
error,
(I
highly
doubt
that,
it
would’ve
been
clear
as
to
what
they
were
claiming
and
then
requesting
a
referral
from
my
GP
after
claiming
is
just
poor)
I’m
extremely
disappointed
and
warn
others
to
please
be
vigilant
of
charges
for
things
that
you
don’t
actually
get.
I
understand
we
all
need
to
make
a
living
but
that’s
just
clear
fraud.
