Came for lunch, ordered 5 pastas, 3 of them were so salty to the point they were inedible. The only decent pasta was the 4 formaggi. We also ordered the special pasta which was crab tagliatelle, the pasta was so over cooked and salty, it’s so soft that it breaks easily. Not too sure why were the reviews good, maybe we were just unlucky today. Never heading back again.

Great little Italian place in Newtown. Very homely. The food was good. The wine was good. The table next to us was a large group and had a few shared platters which looked amazing. Definitely a good place a do host that kinda group setting.

***Edit - overcharged**** I checked how much we've been charged and believe we were surprisingly overcharged. We had a entree bread foccacia ($9 + truffle butter $4). One carbonara $25, gnocchi on special that wasn't on the menu, and tiramisu ($15). No drinks. We were charged $94. Does that mean the pasta of the day was $41?? Ridiculous. Check your receipt!! **********, Had the special spinach gnocchi and carbonara. Gnocchi was creamy and full of flavour, carbonara fettuccine was cooked to perfection however bit too salty. The tables are tiny here, will be ideal for sole diners or 3 ppl max. As their name goes you can really tell their pasta is fresh. Tiramisu was very average though despite recommendations.

Great little place serving up fresh pasta. You can pick your sauce and pasta and wait staff are happy to give recommendations. We didn’t have a booking but walked in at 5pm and they were able to accomodate us at this time but we saw the restaurant filling up quite quickly despite how early it was. We also ordered some focaccia, mortadella and olives to start and these were a perfect starter whilst you wait for the pasta. The pasta itself was cooked to perfection and the sauces were incredible. For desserts I recommend the tiramisu and don’t skip on the sorbet because these were a lovely light end to a fabulous meal.

Oh my God! Eating at this restaurant is like feeling the pleasure of Italian food made by my grandmother again! It was a work of art, a hug from someone we love, a pleasure that I can't put into words, just feel!

The best pasta I have ever tasted! I loved all the food, I definitely want to go again to try more dishes. The service was very good and fast! Our waiter Fran helped us at all times, especially which pasta was best for the sauce I wanted!

Foccacia was flavourful but dry - tasted a day old... Burratta was amazing with the roasted veg! This paired perfectly with the mortadella. The gnocchi is an absolute winner! Perfect texture - chewy but still soft! Recommend with the 4 cheese sauce. Casarecce with ragu was great - rich ragu with an anchovy base. Casarecce was a bit too firm - 30 secs more would have been perfect. Recommend the tiramisu! Not too sweet and the coffee isn't over powering. Cannoli was a bit too firm so it was hard to bite into. The special dessert of the day - deconstructed cheesecake was delish! Creamcheese is perfectly balanced with the strawberry and choc crunch. Service was friendly and prompt with food coming out very fast!

This gem place is worth the mention, and I was lucky to find this good Italian place. The pasta, home made of course, entrees, dessert, ticked all boxes. Fabio, great host, Jessica, one word, wonderful, great team, I cannot fault the service. If you want try some real Italian taste, this is one place to visit. I highly recommend, I am David Lo, and I have no affiliation with this restaurant, I just love eating.

We have eaten at this restaurant so many times. We have several favourites here. I love the bruschetta or burrata as starters but they always have a delicious special also. For mains don’t miss the 4 cheese gnocchi. It’s not too heavy but it is incredibly delicious. I absolutely love come here for dinner. It’s the best. Please don’t take my seat though.

Very nice little Pasta restaurant, good seating, friendly service and plenty to choose from, considering how small the place is. The fettucine carbonara is delicious and the 4 cheese pasta was rich and decadent. The calamari was a bit small though. Better stick with the pasta. Good vibe to sit and chat for a while.

The atmosphere was great, the service was amazing (staff were so nice), the food was also so tasty… I would’ve given this place a 5 stars, but only one thing… They charged us $20 for WATER 🤡 We just automatically assumed that water was free, so we ended up ordering 4 bottles of water (which each were $5), but I wish that they had told us beforehand. Otherwise we wouldn’t have ordered water because the price seemed ridiculous. Anyways yeah highly recommend this place but don’t order water unless you don’t mind paying for it.

Pasta dishes are great, very fresh and tasty. Portion is a tad small. We had the grilled seafood and is very yummy. Grilled veggies also great

Great pasta place! The fresh pasta are delicious and had a great texture (a little bouncy/chewy, just like I like). We had 4 different pasta dishes and the sauce was really tasty for all of them. My personal favourite was the carbonara; so creamy and savoury! The calamari was okay. The taste was good but I wish there were more bigger pieces of calamari. Most of the dish was tiny pieces of calamari where we could taste only the batter. Would definitely come back for the pasta!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Favola Italian restaurant in Sydney and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The food was just amazing and I had the best Italian food experience with my partner. From appetizers to different varieties of pasta and desserts, everything was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was also excellent, with special mention to our server Karim who was wonderful. He was attentive and made sure that we had a wonderful time spent. The atmosphere at La Favola was cozy and intimate, making it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner. The wine list is extensive and features a great selection of Italian wines. The restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for delicious Italian food in Sydney. In conclusion, I highly recommend La Favola to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Italian food experience. You guys need to give it a try, it won't disappoint you.

Top notch. Just excellent, fresh tasty food. Very fast service and lovely sauces. The Dal Mare was rich; like they boiled prawn heads and reduced. So tasty.

The texture of the spaghetti from La Favola was amazing! But the sauce and the taste is average to me, I personally think the flavour is a bit bland and I had better pasta elsewhere with this price point. The portion is quite small and the seats are uncomfortable. Overall I feel like it’s not a bad restaurant if you crave some pasta but I wouldn’t make a trip just to dine in here.

Best pasta I’ve ever had!!! The pasta was so perfectly cooked and the sauces were so light and flavourful, I could eat here every night 😍 The focaccia & truffle butter was also to die for. Perfect portion sizes, not too much but definitely not too small. Have never been able to find such good pasta until here, highly recommend!!

I’ve been to La Favola a few times over the years & would definitely recommend for the delicious, authentic Italian food. The pasta dishes are so yum! The cocktails were also a hit, we loved the pasta straws as well (environmental & sustainable!) Will definitely be back.

Seriously don’t get the hype with that price. Ordered a caprese salad, fettuccine carbonara and fusilli dal mare. The salad was really fresh but the carbonara was very oily but not creamy at all. Not a fan of having olives in my seafood pasta as the flavours just don’t go well together. Their handmade pasta was overall very ordinary too.

We loved all the food we ordered, we’d love to come back and try their other sauces. We ordered the eggplant parm, calamari, 4 formaggi, dal mare, and the broccoli sauce. The opening hours for Google is wrong though. They’re open on Sundays from 11:30am-3pm as well. We got so confused if we’ll have a reservation the next day, and was already looking for alternatives. But they called early on Sunday to confirm our reservation so all good.

I came here for valentine’s day dinner and they got us a special menu for the night. I ordered the black angus beef carpaccio and it blew my mind 🧠, it was so good! And then, I got the mafaldine with slow braised lamb ragu and Sardinian Malloreddus with porcini mushroom and truffle for the main. For my taste, it was a little bit bland but I really enjoy the dishes. Definitely will come back to try their regular menu!

Extremely friendly staff and really great pasta! (Personally, I especially recommend you order and try their specials specifically 😋). Their pasta/main specials are always changing, so you should definitely try it when you can! Between a group of 5, we ordered/recommend: 👌Lamb shoulder (A chef's special for the night, very tender lamb shoulder served with truffle mash potato and carrot. The mash potato complements the lamb shoulder so well, you can definitely taste the truffle!) 👌Ragu Napoletano paccheri (Delicious slow cooked beef that easily tears away, paired with a lovely white sauce. Could easily have one of these to myself 😂) - Dal Mare spaghetti (Served with 🐙, prawns, calamari, chilli, garlic and tomato. Although it says chilli, it was definitely far from it and I'm someone who can't take spice. I personally am not the biggest fan of seafood but it was still delicious) 👌 Beef Conchiglioni (A chef's special for the night, absolutely delicious! Soft tender slow cooked beef! P.s. Conchiglioni is the giant version of the small shell shaped pastas)

Make your own pasta dish at this cozy Italian diner in Newtown! Mix and match pasta and sauce for a personalized pasta dish – like our picks, Rigatoni Dal Mare and Caserecce duck ragu (dinner special). Both perfectly al dente, both bursting with flavor. Tender octopus and prawns in rich tomato sauce, and that delectable curly fettuccine duck ragu. Comfort pasta, just the way you like it. 🍝🤤
