A beautiful heritage listed Anglo Catholic Church. It offers Sunday and daily services. Very quiet environment in the busy central business district for a prayer or just a visit in other spiritual and cultural purposes. Staff there was very friendly and would explain briefly what's going on in the Church. To help preserve the historical buildings, they welcome any donations voluntarily.

A welcoming Anglican Church with a charming and friendly parishioners and priest. The atmosphere is one of an inclusive Church that welcomes everyone regardless of backgrounds, beliefs and creeds. I normally attend the Sunday morning service as they have the most impressive choir. Also attend the Evensong for its sombre atmosphere. The Church also runs charity for the homeless opening their doors to anyone to come over to reflect and also have tea and coffee. A beautiful church near Central Station.

Christ Church St Laurence is a rare Anglo-Catholic parish in an otherwise radical evangelical Anglican Diocese of Sydney. If you're a fundamentalist iconoclast, stay away; however if you love a multi-sensory High Church experience - fine music, candles, incense - then this is THE place in Sydney for you.

This is a magnificent old style church. Full pipe organ, bell tower with bells, all sand stone and beautiful stained glass windows and artwork inside. It seems all are welcome here, regardless of religion, age, race, gender and sexual orientation. So refreshing. Good on them!

This a very welcoming church community. The services are traditionally Anglican but so open and accepting of all types of people. The congregation is generally older but so modern thinking in a lot of ways.

Excellent music, fine liturgy and solid preaching, an outpost of Anglo-catholicism is a sometimes banal Sydney diocese. Despite GoogleMaps' instructions, the entry is from George Street

Unpleasant bell, woke my 9 months old baby up everyday. Called them for an understanding and turn the volume down. But i was ignored. They claimed themselves to be the servant of Gods, I called them nicely and asked them politely, but they ignored me. Don't go to this church, they are fake, they are naive, selfish, and does not show any tolerance to the community. That's not kind of a church you want to be associated with. For those who live in Sydney area and feel disturbed by the bell, please lodge a complain to the City of Sydney council, because I will do the same. Let's end this unpleasant experience together.

Instead of Partining every Saturday. How about having a good Christin Attitude Drinking causes being an Nusiance under someone’s window wanting to get up on Sunday for Mass. It’s Selfish, by Complaining , about the Bells: Ringing: Especially son Sunday’s is obvIously Discrimination, cause they’re also those that worked on Sundays, for those demand whiners are up too late on Saturdays. I assure you that your complaint here gets Ignored. until the Clergy is asked to read the Pisitive reviews. Having said that: Christ Anglican Church Sydney. cares especially the Poor & Homeless. Not everyone Drinks & then are Nosier, then kids on a Play Ground. However: So instead of Complaing about the Bells Ringing too long: How about stoping into the Church & Speak to the Clergy.after Church on Sundsys. Get their in Time. & have Respect for the Space, be quit & turn off your cell phone. Don’t be nosiy in a Church, if you insisted to complain about the bells. It’s called. Respect.

I enjoy the choir immensely The service retains the pageantry that so enhances the solemnity of the service The sermon is also inspiring I can't imagine anyone complaining about the noise as it is a non-residential area I always enjoy mass at Christ Church

P.S. Christ Anglican Church Sydney Bells Ringing for an Hour. & everyone is whining? That’s totally Non Sense. I can see Ringing 10-12 times, which is for a minute or 2 not for an hour. This sight has Strict Rules about flash reviews. I can assure you that the Anglican’s obeys the local laws. How about picking on the Marathon Race as well: it indeed disrupts those that choose to go to Church and or working in Hotel Cleaning Rooms.

This is a beautiful church with traditional Anglican services. The clergy embrace people from all walks of life. Father Daniel Dries is an excellent Minister and we love to hear his sermons.

A truly inclusive place for all - those who are between homes to those with many! No one is excluded from the grandeur of worship in this recently restored church.

An obnoxiously loud cacophony of bells are rung throughout all hours of Tuesday and Sunday for unnecessary lengths of time. Absolutely disrespectful and just god damn annoying!

I could see the Sphire from about a block away on September 16, 2018 and decided to take a look, being a person of faith. Just by coincidence, or not? a service had just begun. The church was packed with people, and moments after I entered the front arch a mature blonde bobbed haired lady with gay pride foils pressed up behind me into my personal space. Sum? I then shuffled to the front for which they had run out of pews for the congregation to sit. Later, they added fold away chairs. A rubenesque blond lady in a royal blue navy sparkling dress also graized up against me & into my personal space. I hope they weren't wanting me to do a dance? Later during the service she asked me where we were up to in the service. Just like a school that set me up and asked me to prepare practice test material a level way lower than the actual to make me look incompetent as a teacher, once this actually happened. I later realised this was a trick question because the section of the service wasn't actually printed on the program. You would only know If you were a frequent attendee. Was she trying to make me look like a fradulent believer? The service was a celebration of the retirement of one of the priests. The congregation applauded him at length and volume Queen Elizabeth might think exceeded the bounds of gentility in a church. It disturbed me also. They were giving occolades because he knew everyone's private secrets in this community. The sermon included the mentioning of the fragility of the mind, going senile, and schizophrenia. In NSW Australia this seems to be their administrative biological weapon. In Queensland it's cancer. Pick your poison they might inject you with. As part of the celebration there was classical and operatic music played and sung. I thought the string instruments playing were beautiful. I really thought there wasn't a church hall. The church announcements? Where? So I walked around the block and people were walking into a tiny archway so I followed them in, where a fancier than usual supper was being held. I chatted briefly to two ladies, one local and one a frequent traveler to Paris. Then a young thirty-something Australian born Chinese woman. We seemed to have a lot in common, but surrounding people kept nudging us without apology. Speeches: The speaker joked and mocked Prodestants. Are these people Christian? Beautiful architecture, interesting people, even if you are a non believer.

Christ Church St Laurence follows the Anglo Catholic tradition and has an excellent choir. It is not just pomp since the parish has long maintained a great outreach programme.
