A unique Castle 🏰 with ancient fortress. A mesmerising landmark in the middle of mountain Jungles. You will enjoy a great hike in a greenery twisty path with a lot of stairs. Also, you can see Gigantic trees 🌲 and hear birdsong. It takes a gentle 90 minute walk from parking to the castle. Be careful some parts are slippery specially in the rain. Never forget your hiking shoes. 🥾 You can eat or buy local food & souvenirs along the way. 🍳 🍪 Spring & Autumn are best seasons for visit. ⚠️ Forests & Mountains are far more beautiful without plastic bags & bottles. Breathtaking views on top of the castle. A feast for the eyes 🤩

Beautiful and eye-catching nature. If you are a nature traveler and enjoy the peace of nature, I definitely recommend this place. The springs that flow from the heart of the mountain are very clear and drinkable. I came to this place for vacation and I had a great time

This is a very nice place... location of the castle is really good... I can imagine how hard was for someone to conquer that castle... to get there you need to go on foot by stairs lots of stairs ... if you are not in a good condition prepare for something like atvleast 1 h climbing...plus 30-45 minutes at the top and 40 minutes going down. But all of that is worth views you will have there;)... on the way you can buy drinks and sth toneatvso no need to carry that wit you... consider proper shoes... snickers are the best while the roks might be slippery... for ladies high heels shoes are strongly NOT recommended;)

Located near Fooman and also Massule, one of the pretty town and beautiful villages across gorgeous Gillan province in Iran, quite ancient, eye catching landscapes, countless great local dishes and peaceful/friendly people. Rasht is the capital city in which many Iranian contemporary intellectual , writer, poet, Journalists came from . It has a history of great break through and achievements through the times as a proud Iranian state. We love Gillan! Don't we? Together we can make unimaginable things possible, just let Urself free and dream away, feels like we have always been together , since the begining of time, U and I, we make our fate

This mountain castle is amazingly embedded in the green forest that overgrows its walls and courtyards. It is reached by a winding path, climbing gently through the shady forest. You can roam the castle for hours. At the path and at the foot of the castle there are plenty of places where you can eat or buy a variety of souvenirs [e.g. great local tea] can not say enough about the view and how gorgeous it is, it is a historical castle with an amazing view all around it. Nice story as well. But you might wanna be prepared for the journey, it's more than 1600 stairs on a mountain that you have to climb. It really is hard to get up there, but once you're there, you see that its worth it.

Good place for climbing up. It's about 2 km from parking lot and you need 1.5 hours to reach the top of the castle. The path is very beautiful with birds singing, rivers and covers by old tall trees. It would be somehow hard for amateurs but it worth it to go to the peak and see the castle.

Rudkhan Castle; also Roodkhan Castle, is a brick and stone medieval fortress in Iran that was built by the Talysh people to defend against the Arab invaders during the Muslim conquest of Persia.

beautiful Located 25 km southwest of Fuman city north of Iran in Gilan province, it is a military complex that was constructed during the Sasanian era (224-651), and later rebuilt in 1096 by the Nizari Isma'ilis for use by the Assassins. The castle is built on two tips of a mount, with an area of 2.6 hectares (6.4 acres). Its architects made use of natural mountainous features in the construction of the fort. The Rudkhan Castle River originates in the surrounding heights and flows from south to north. After crossing a mountainous winding route with dense forests, the first thing that one notices about the castle is its big entrance gate. Rudkhan Castle sits at the two peaks of a mountain at elevations of 715 and 670 meters and contains strong fortifications and battlements at a length of 1,550 meters. The castle's 42 towers still stand intact.

I have been visiting this wonderful place in a November which was winter season during evening time a few hours before sunset , however it was great and nice hiking activity because you have to walk 1 hour to 1 hour and half upstairs to reach the top and reach the castle , there was a fresh water coming out from mountain inside the castle and trees and environment is so wonderful while going upstairs during evening cloud totally covered the castle while we were up . Hint // be aware of walking on stairs for more than one hour , so wear good shoes .

Rud Khan Fortress or Hesami Castle is the name of a fortress belonging to the Sassanid Empire period, which was built above the forest heights of Foman city in Rudkhan village and has an area of 2.6 hectares and 65 towers and ramparts and a wall 1500 meters long. Ruh Khan fortress is at the foot of the hill of Jabal village. Some experts have considered the construction of the castle during the Sassanid era and parallel to the Arab invasion of Iran. The residents of Rudkhan Castle neighborhood speak Talshi.

Make sure to bring enough water (though you can purchase water & snacks on the way up). Take time-outs and don't give up on the way up. The view and the history of this place are astounding.

Unbelievable and fabulous historical architecture. I just don't understand how people made this magnificent architecture out of stone 1500 years ago and did they take the stones to that height!

It was awesome, but it had huge traffic. And if you want to visit the actual castle, you have to climb about 800 steps, and it takes about 50 mins. So if you want to visit there you need 1 day at least 🫠. Good Luck🔥🤝🏼
