Mapalana_Ella #Siripagama #Palabaddana The tallest waterfall in Sabaragamuwa Mapalana Falls Do you believe that there are gods in a waterfall? Whether it is true or not, I think it is fair to say so when visiting Mapalana Falls. Because of the two Nuga trees that stand on either side of the waterfall. Some believe that the trees also contain powerful oils. Mapalana Falls is the fourth tallest waterfall in the country. It is also the highest waterfall in the Sabaragamuwa Province. So is it any wonder that God protects? The other falls at the base of the Bena Samanalagala Heen Ella Oya at 1868 meters south of the Siripa hill. The villagers said that the rocks near this waterfall were used by the ancient kings to keep them from sitting on the jewels. Therefore, it is doubtful whether God took arrack to the cassava trees. However, it is said that the name Mapalana was given to this waterfall by a local leader named Bandaragewatta Mapa. Mapa Nana Falls has gradually become the mouthpiece of Mapalana Falls. I could not feel the fatigue disappearing as I escaped from two or three leeches and approached the waterfall in the middle of a thick forest or through a sound. Twenty drops of water from the cascading waterfall cooled our minds and hearts. Asitha Indika Weerawardena, the Chairman of the first waterfall organization in the country, told us that the water level would spread to the rock where we were during heavy rains. It was then discovered that only the middle part of the waterfall, which falls into three parts, is 465 feet high. The highest waterfall in our country, Bambara Kanda is 790 feet, Kurundu Oya is 620 feet and Mapalana Falls is 560 feet. At the foot of the falls you will find a flat rocky plateau that can easily accommodate up to 30 people as you carefully walk over the large black boulders and approach the waterfall. It was once thought that this was the reason why the local leader chose this waterfall to melt. The Gurulu Ana Natural Bathing Pool also intensified that thought. Although we wanted to travel abroad without appreciating the things of our country, foreigners have recognized the beauty of our country. A white man who came like that looked at this waterfall and fell asleep on top of the rocks. But the tree gods have seen and rescued a group of people before they drowned. As such, the Mapalana Falls still retains an unblemished name without falling into the trap of Bopath Falls, which had the highest number of victims. Although not much is known about trees, you can easily see veneers, asparagus, and snails when you look around. In addition, there are medicinal plants such as Badulla, Kota Simbula, Lavania, Kelaniya, Gonuke vine, Nelu, Rahanelu, Ma Nuga, Kala Nuga as well as herbs such as Muguna, Pelanga Thelabo, and Kata Keliya This is called. The forest is also able to see the Vesak flower, the flower of the Sabaragamuwa Province, among many other flowers. Animals such as buffaloes, lizards, deer, sand deer, frogs, tortoises, rhinos, wild boars, rabbits, seals, etc. Many can be seen only by those who are silently listening to that voice. There are reptiles such as blood maples, scorpions, dragonflies, cobras, terns, and cobras, so you need to be very careful and alert inside the jungle. Be especially careful as highly venomous life spiders roam the jungle associated with this waterfall. The area around Mapalana Falls is still considered to be a haven for a wide variety of creatures, including caterpillars and stone oysters. Endangered species such as the Kagamuang lizard are also occasionally found here, probably due to their immaturity. No matter how beautiful the stream is, it is difficult for anyone unfamiliar with water sports. This is because of the uniqueness of this waterfall. Every time I saw all these details and took notes, I felt a great fear. Not that people came to see that waterfall and fell prey to it. It is doubtful whether these people will fall prey to mindless people. But our duty is to tell you what is worth seeing. Is it not your duty to preserve that precious thi

a must-visit Mappalana Ella Falls, the 6th highest mountain in Sri Lanka with a length of 141 meters is located in the Kilimalai of Ratnapura. It consists of three parts and is formed by a stream that originates from the Samanala Range and reaches the Kalu Ganga. The road is terrible and if you don't have enough ground level in your vehicle better don't take it. I took my Wagon R but took a long time to do the starch. Also had to unload 2 heads to balance time to time. Highly recommended place if you're into Waterfall chasing.

Mapalana is Ratnapura’s, most picturesque waterfall, becoming the fourth highest in Sri Lanka reaching 141 metres in height in a rocky formation, perhaps the most mesmerising and liveliest waterfall that is found in the peak wilderness in Sri Pada sanctuary. According to legend, the fall gets its name from Maapaa-Nana, which later became mapanana and finally Mapalana. This waterfall consists of three sections which originates from 1,868 metres high Bena Samanala (two mountains that flank Sri Pada peak) as the pristine springs which starts from Sri Pada peak massif and the fall form as a cascade in a place called Kondagalathen from where it flows to Maskeli Oya, and streams out to Kalu Ganga from Gilimale. The vicinity of the fall is a rich biodiversity area.

Situated amongst medicinal herbs, the 141 m high Mapalana Ella ( also known as Mapanana Ella) fall consists of three sections and is served by a stream (Minuwan Dola? Heen Ella Dola? ) which originates from the Thoranabandigala (or Kondagala?) in the Samanala mountain range. This stream joins Kalu Ganaga river further down. During the rainy season the simultaneous flows can be heard from up to 6km away. According to legends, the fall gets its name from a local nobelsman (maapaa) who used to bath at this fall. The Maapaa-Nana (place where the nobel bathe) became mapanana and later Mapalana. When drought sets in, local villages hold ceremonies in the middle of the dry fall and hang lighted lanterns and palm leaves from its upper reaches, asking the Saman god to provide rain.

This Waterfall is nearly 25km distance from Rathnapura. No doubt at all about it's scenic beauty and it is said that this is the 4th tallest Waterfall in sri lanka. You can have a nice bath near the Waterfall, can experience fish bath as well when you keep legs on water for some time. But travelling to the Waterfall is bit difficult. Road to Waterfall is through remote areas such as Gilimale and Sri Pada forest, but road is not that much supportive. Better to use an off road vehicle rather than a car. However, you can reach almost closer to the Waterfall through a vehicle. You can have cold water bath, climbing up and stay many hours near the Waterfall. At last need to tell, always be alert on your safety as all these Waterfalls can kill your life if you didn't follow your safety precautions!

Located south of the Sri Pada footpath entrance in Sri Palabadalla. It falls off the edge of the mountain range which holds the Bena Samanala Kanda and Dharmaraja Gala(The twin peaks visible from the top of Adam’s Peak). It’s cascade sequence makes the 4th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka standing at 460.ft🙏 At the start of the Sri Pada footpath in Siripagama, there is a turn off to the right. Travel down this road about 2.3km to pass a small bridge. At the end of this bridge there is a large sign with directions to the Mapalana Ella along a climb to the left. This road is rock paved and takes only a small walk to reach the foot of the fall 🌴 ⚠️ There is also a sign that warns of the dangers in swimming in the pool. Although shallow, it is covered in small boulders and makes it a very slipper terrain. Please take care while walking in and around the base and the lower cascade

Bottom of the waterfall is super easy to access by the roadside. The road to this site is quite windy and pot-hole laden but scenic and worth it to reach the bottom of the waterfall. We were lucky there was a lot of water coming down as fluctuates with the recent levels of rainfall. We didn’t do the walk to the top however read online and heard from locals it takes a few hours and best taken early morning to reach the top before it’s too hot. Very impressive waterfall and wasn’t crowded at all at the bottom :)
