We spent 2 nights in one of the rooms in the first floor with a little balcony and lake view (through the trees). The room is a bit small, but very nice, clean and with AC! We slept very well. The nature around is great and we swam in the little lake (don’t be afraid of the waran that also swims around sometimes, he is very friendly!). The food cooked by the owner’s wife is really great! The family is really nice and helps with all questions. The best, however, was the Safari wie did with the owner. We went on for 7 hours which is highly recommended as you can drive deeper into the national park than during 4 hours. Samantha is amazing: He spots every animal, no matter how small or how far away it is! His eyes are really incredible! It took us sometimes 5 minutes to see the animals he found while driving around... We had some incredible encounters with elephant families, so many, and a nice little fruit lunch in the nature. He also managed to avoid the big tourist masses and a lot of times there were only us and the gorgeous nature. Stay at the Splendid Lake Safari Lodge, you won’t regret it :)

Had a really nice stay here! People are lovely, room was spacious, nice and clean, location is cool and the safari was really really good. The only thing was when I asked her about the safari she gave me the price for an individual one, while already two people "signed up" at here place (they told me), so it would be cheaper for me to join them, but she didn't tell at first. But at the and I díd join them and I couldn't have think of a better safari!

Good value, go to the lake in front of accommodation at sunset and see the fruit bats close up as they fly by and dip down to drink from the lake and roost in nearby Jack fruit tree's. If you want to see lots of elephants go on the safari.

Amazing hospitality and very nice family. Food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. Would recommend this place to anyone going for safari at Udawalawa park. The location is amazing, just by the lake and you can swim in the lake as well.

Absolutely lovely family and also professional management. We were the first at the gate and their food is really good, get both the dinner and the breakfast. Ask for more water if 0.5 litres is not enough for you. I really recommend this guesthouse!

Splendid stay, nice place with views to the lake. I did an epic Safari to Udawalawe park with the owner Samantha. His wife's meals are amazing.
