Absolutely amazing stay! Everyone goes put of their way to provide the finest service. Check-in/out was very simple and flexible. The rooms were clean as they can be and the beds have been very comfy. To top it off the food was top notch as well. You cant get anything better or comparible for that price.

Arrived here without a booking and within 5 minutes I was checked into a beautiful room with a safari organised for the next day and a dinner reservation. It was honestly perfect. Thank you!

My boyfriend and me stayed here for 2 nights and really loved it! The nature house was a recommendation of another home stay owner and we were just as happy as he said we will. The rooms are nice and well equipped, the terrace is really cosy (wifi works really well!!) and the dinner was amazing! For our safari the owner organized a very nice trip with a very experienced, friendly driver/guide. We can really recommend this place!

A fantastic find, family run, impeccably clean and lovely room. Family are very helpful and have their own Safari vehicles which was fantastic. The buffet on the evening was superb and the breakfast just as good. The price of this room makes this stay the most excellent value for money we had in Sri Lanka, I'd give more than 5 stars!!!

Probably the best place we've stayed in Sri Lanka so far. Comfy, clean rooms with Aircon. Nice quiet terrace to relax on. Fantastic food and a brilliant host. He organised a great safari and we saw elephants, monkeys, birds and more.

This place was a superb value for money, far more so than some other places we stayed in Sri Lanka. The host is a professional having worked across the hospitality industry for decades and has matured a quality hotel business. 8 high spec bedrooms done to a very high quality, very clean tidy. Most incredible home made lemon juice welcome drink provided too. His son is a very good taxi driver too. Lovely setting looking into the rain forest. He runs his own safari jeep which I’d recommend - his brother was the driver and was very talented at spotting the animals but was also very respectful not to get too close etc. Would stay again for sure!

First impressions - this is a very, very nice place approx 10mins drive from the main entrance to the national park. We were greeted by the manager and his wife and quickly showed to our rooms. The manager stated that the rooms were newly built and you could tell because they are amazing. Rooms - the rooms are spacious and very comfortable with a hot power shower (in the room were were in anyways in the newly built block). Mosquito nets drape across the king bed and the you have a choice of fan or AC. Bathroom - massive and has a shower curtain to make sure the water does not get everywhere. To get more power in the shower, you were able to turn a button on which was really good. 5* place. Food - we didn't get breakfast included by my gosh was it to a good standard. The manager would serve eggs, fruit, fruit juice galore. Was a treat to come back from the safari and have some food readily and waiting. Because I liked spice so much the manager made me a special spicey sauce to go with my dinner which was stupidly nice of him. There were kids playing around with the native animals, it was really good atmosphere. Other - would I stay here again? Absolutely. This gets a 5/5 for their hospitality, help, food, rooms and generally being the best hotel so far I've stayed in Final thoughts - amazing place, accommodation and the manager is a lovely guy who goes out of his way to help. Perfect for a few days living it up in nature. Nothing less than 5* here!

Lovely place! We got upgraded to the upstairs room as it is low season. Very clean, spacious, nice bathroom and terrace. Really nice owner, drove me to a doctor and back in the evening when i had an infected wound. Organized safari for us. Everything was easy and smooth! Good food too, cooked by him and his wife.

Good location, nice rooms and very efficient owner who is really on top of everything. I was disappointed that I booked by phone and he decided to give us his most expensive room without providing the options first. He provided us with a car service to take us to Ella and the driver decided he did not want to take his car to our hotel and instead asked us to take a tuk tuk to our hotel from the city centre as according to him the roads were not wide enough but our hotel was right by the highway

10 out of 10 in the middle of the Forest I booked 2 nights in December in this lovely, family owned hotel. First of all the owner and his family are so lovely and easy going. They went to the moon and back to keep all guests happy and satisfied. I really enjoyed talking to the owner. The hotel is located in the middle of the forest, near the elephant transit home. The rooms are big and very clean. The bathroom is big enough to move around and to store hygiene products. The bed is comfy and the sheets are clean too. The AC is running smoothly and not loud at all. Breakfast and especially dinner are 10 out of 10. Dinner is always freshly cooked and there are more than enough things to choose from. For breakfast you get fresh fruits, a smoothie, home made bread, eggs (boiled, fried, scrambled), butter and jam. WiFi is working fine most of the time. I know some people like it, so I will mention it: Yes, there is water, tea and coffee in the rooms! Tipp: Book the safari with the hotel. Its cheap!!! The drives are very cool and funny guys. Trust me you will not regret it! I got a jeep together with a German couple and we only paid 5.000 Rupies each for the 4 hour tour. The entrance fee is not included. You need to buy the ticket before entering. The entrance fee changes with the US-Dollar rate. I used the laundry service, which was also very cheap. 1.500 Rupies, for 2 Boxershort, 2 pair of socks, 2 shirts, 1 short and 1 jeans. All in all it's the best value for money and you stay in a family owned hotel in the middle of the forest. Due to the location, there are some ants in the room and in the night the forest comes to life. If you have a tight sleep like me it will not bother you at all.

Incredible place! If I could, I would vote 100 stars instead of 10. The rooms are huge, modern and very clean. The guesthouse is surrounded by crazy nature. The owner is very nice, helpful and funny. You can hire a jeep here (I strongly suggest it) for the safari to the national park: our driver helped us spot about 20 birds. Thank you very much for this wonderful stay! πŸ’š

Great stay at Nature House. We were very lucky to get the last available room when we turned up on the day. The owners are very friendly and breakfast/dinner was very good. They helped organise us a very high quality elephant safari. The room was immaculate and modern and was a very reasonable price. Only slight downside was that the shower water was lukewarm.

We had a wonderful experience at the nature house, it’s a really calm place where you can relax perfectly! Nerby is the udawalawe national park, which you really should go visit! You are sure to see elephants, monkeys, buffalo’s and other animals! The host of the nature house is very kind, they offer a curry rice which you have to trie out! One of the best i had in my entire life! If your looking to visit udawalawe, this is the perfect place to stay!

Love this place so much so I came here twice. Great host with a wonderful and friendly family that is always here to make your stay comfortable. Also they can cook for you tasty and authentic food. The rooms are very clean, modern and newly furnished. Surrounding nature is striking in its diversity. Besides the owner has a brother who'll guide you through Udawalawe safari β€” very patient and attentive, he will do everything for you to see as many species as possible along the way. An example to follow.

One of our best stays in Sri Lanka. The host treated us like royalties and arranged a safari for us with a very experienced driver who was able to give us a lot of detailed information during the safari. Also the dinner and the breakfast were both amazing! I would stay here again without a doubt!

Nice stay during Corona times (March 2021): After my two weeks quarantine in luxury hotels I continued my journey as a "free" man. My first accomodation was the Nature House in Uda-Walawe. I enjoyed it a lot (paying only a fraction of what I had to pay before, but receiving nearly as much as I received before). Excellent Sri Lanka food for breakfast and for dinner, AC room, nice bed and bathroom. Warm welcome and nice atmosphere. Next time again there!

Beautiful and clean location, friendly team of staff and great Sri Lankan food. We booked the safari through them and it was a great experience. They also took us to the elephant orphanage. Definitely recommend.

The location is perfect for a 2-night stay. Very close to the national park and a 10 minute walk to the Elephant transit home. The rooms were very comfortable, air-conditioned, and had a lovely shared balcony space. The host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to ensure that we had everything we needed. He organised our safari, taxi to our next destination, and gave us umbrellas when he saw it was raining. His (his wife's) food is some of the best rice and curry we experienced in Sri Lanka. Good attention to detail with the drink on arrival and restaurant presentation. He genuinely couldn't've done any more for our stay. Overall, a lovely experience and excellent value for money.
