Very nice and friendly host family! Even though I didn't arrive by bus until 8 p.m., the guest mom served me a lot of delicious food! Everything is very clean and nicely furnished. Any time again!

Perfect for the Adam’s Peak hike, minutes away from the starting point. Small, calm, simple homestay with simply the nicest family! Ingredients for the amazing home made meals come mainly from their own garden. The kindest people, always willing to help. I’m lucky to have found them and will return when next time on the island!

Great stay! Very clean, comfortable room and bathroom. Friendly, caring family that cooks great food πŸ˜‹ grown fresh in their own garden πŸͺ΄ They are very attentive and try all to make your stay worthwhile πŸ™ The WiFi is okay, sometimes it’s slow, but on request they can most of the time fix it πŸ™Œ Next to all this greatness, it’s only a 10 minute walk to the start of Adam’s peak! Which is amazing if you want to do the sunrise hike πŸŒ„

Super dear family! We had originally booked only for one night, but stayed for 2 nights. We also got a fresh home cooked meal for dinner and it was sooo delicious !!! We really can only heartily recommend this. Room and bathroom extremely clean & lovingly prepared. As a welcome we had tea and cake πŸŽ‚. Thank you for the wonderful time!

Very friendly family, clean room and great hospitality. The offered food was amazing and all cooked from the food out of their garden. Very friendly talks and tips regarding Adam's Peak. I would come back again!

Very nice and friendly host family. They are really caring for their guests, made fabulous meals for us with their fresh, homegrown vegetables. The place is in walking distance from Adams Peak Starting point and a few shops and restaurants. They told us about a tea factory nearby, but we weren't in the mood after climbing the Adams Peak. Highly recommended!

Super friendly family run guest house with only 2-3 rooms. Dinner and breakfast were both fantastic using vegetables from their fields behind the house. Also very cleans and good bathrooms. A great starting point for Adams peak.

Perfect for somewhere to stay before the walk. They cooked a brilliant dinner for us and were helpful with our questions on the hike. It's not a place where you get a lot of privacy but most people want a bed for a few hours before they get up for the walk.

Raja, the owner is a pleasant, and fair person. I stayed here for one night in September, paid 1800 for the room and addition 400 for a worthy dinner! The room i stayed was big and the facilities fine, however it smelled quite strong and had no fan (opening the windows wasn’t an option as for the number of mosquitoes...)

Within this price range it’s a good place to stay for 1-2 nights. Bed is so so, don’t expect too much. Bed could be better and the lock system of the main door didn’t work properly for me. Foods & breakfasts were good. They are 100% vegetarian and all are Sri Lankan local foods with local spices. One thing, place is clesn but the plates, glasses, tea-cups are not super clean btw. Recommended!

Delightful homestay near the base of the trail to hike Sri Pada. We arrived late around 9pm, and a delicious vegetarian dinner was cooked for us within 15 minutes with fresh vegetables picked from their own garden. Despite us not booking a guide in advance, Raja (the owner) kindly offered to come with us for Rs 5000 which was useful as we were hiking in off peak season and there were no lights along the trail. Raja is a local who has climbed up and down Sri Pada over a few hundred times, and some times even climbs twice in one day. The start of the trail is only 10 minutes away from the house, the only downside being the road leading down to the house is somewhat steep and narrow, so be cautious if driving down it. A wonderful breakfast is provided in the morning, which was exactly what we needed post our hike. As the family is strictly vegetarian and don't eat eggs, there is not much protein in some of their meals, so would recommend bringing your own protein or yogurt like snacks to eat if hiking. The homestay has tea gardens surrounding it, and a stream running behind, and would be peaceful to stay for an extra few days before or after hiking Sri Pada. A generous and welcoming family run homestay, I would highly recommend this booking to anyone wanting to hike up Adam's Peak.

Best place around the area for Adam's Peak! It's a really humble family that treats the guests as family and as friends. They try to get involved with them, they are really helpful giving some advices for Adam's Peak and about other places around. We arrived at the afternoon and they offered us doe tea with some biscuits and to have dinner (vegetarian rice and curry) with products that they grow at their own garden. *The cost of the dinner or lunch is 900 ruppes per person. As well they engage with us and explained some of the meditations that are following. The two daughters are really attentive and pleasant. The place is really really really beautiful, the surroundings are amazing. For a mountain and nature lover is perfect. There is a river near by and a waterfall no more that maybe 10 min walking (opposite direction Adam's Peak). You feel home, no like being in a hotel. As well have a common area (inside and outside) where you can chat with other guests. About Adam's Peak: we woke up at 2am and we reached the peak around 5am. Intense, exigent but not impossible.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ I traveled to Adams Peak Sri Lanka as a solo American female with very little information about Sri Lanka. I definitely feel that my decision to stay at Water Side was guided by the Cosmos because Ruwan ( the owner) made my stay in Sri Lanka easy and safe for me. He picked me up from the airport and...
