Beautiful museum with a fun play area for kids. Neat to see how the pioneers lived and the local history. The missionaries did a wonderful job!

This is a wonderful visitors center. The exhibits are well-crafted with key information from Missouri LDS Church History. I went by myself this time, but next time I plan to bring my children too (both under the age of 8)! The exhibit is interactive with videos to watch, a cabin to walk through, and a little children’s play area at the end. My favorite part is the Christus statue at the beginning of the tour. Would highly recommend to anyone driving through this part of Missouri! It takes about 30 minutes to go through the tour. I’m not sure if it is a permanent installation or not, but there is also an exhibit of pictures taken by George Edward Anderson in 1907 of many significant locations from the prophet Joseph Smith’s life. This was really neat to see! The missionary couple that oversees the center is friendly and welcoming, and the young sister missionary who took us through the tour was knowledgeable, cheerful and kind.

Beautiful Christus as you enter. Free admission and parking. You can either walk around and look at the exhibits at your own leisure or take a guided tour. Really nice exhibits about early settlers of the Latter-day Saints - Mormon - church.

I loved learning about church history from the missionaries! They had many things to look at so there were a lot of things to keep the kids entertained. We spent about an hour and a half and between the tour and all of the displays, there was plenty to do! It it is such a spiritual experience that I highly recommend!

Beautiful visitor center with many exhibits that are geared towards children. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and engaging, they used multimedias to teach about the 1800s in Missouri. I would definitely come again. The tour was free and 30 minutes long.

This is a wonderful visitor center. We were able to do the guided tour. They explained the history of the saints in the area and the later persecution. Amazing what faith the saints had in Joseph Smith to move to the frontier.

This place is definitely a historic icon in the independence area!. The people here are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and go out of their way to make this an amazing experience for individuals and families. We took our kids here on a road trip and they absolutely loved it. Everything here is super clean and there is a great sense of peace as soon as you walk in the building. Definitely a must see in the Independence area!

The tour was great. My kids listened and may have learned some history do the area. The tour guide was kind and knowledgeable. The best part is we ran into some acquaintances that we hadn’t seen since we moved away over 4 years ago.

I was too late to go in, but I was able to walk around. The U.N. Peace Plaza is beautiful and very peaceful. One of the churches nearby was playing carillon music. It was lovely.

This place was amazing with a statue of the Christus in the foyer. It's very close to thre Reorganized church spiral temple. The missionaries do a great job of telling the story of the Saints and the problems they had in the area.
