It’s a waste to what this place has become. This use to be the home of laughter, cherish-able memories, heartfelt holidays (non winter season). The city abused their power taking away the home and only racetrack for drag racers in the Kansas City metro. Keeping this place open could have kept a lot of crime off the street, let alone saved many lives that have been taken by street racing due to not having a local place to conduct fun race car activities at. This was a place that was welcome to all. Should have come to see the smiles on the KIDS faces that were in those drivers seats. Just truthfully a shame for what the city did. I grew up here, and worked here till the day it closed, I’d work there till the day I die if I could. Truly miss it ❤️

I walk Harlow here just about every single morning before other park goers come. She's able to run, play, stretch her legs, kill a snake or a frog, hunt a bird, run through the water, fight with a crawfish. OMG it's a beautiful park. This is our daily routine.

Nice dog route and bicycle. I do miss KCIR RaceTrac that is why I was there to do a balloon release for one of the former racers. A huge suggestion, trash cans maybe a couple benches. Numerous people were walking their dogs and riding their bikes. Before and after doing either of these you may need a bench or trash can.

A diamond in the rough. Formerly a drag racing strip, it has been transformed into a lovely park. The drag strip was cut into trails that traverse through prairie, wetland, and forest habitats. You'll likely see some deer, frogs and rabbits. Bird watchers will see a lot here too. I have seen owls, gold finches and indigo buntings here. Great place to take the dogs on a walk. Update. There's now a small playground and better parking lot. Looks like more improvements are coming soon.

NO RESTROOMS, NO PICNIC TABLES, VERY LIMITED SEATING & 1 SINGLE TRASHCAN. It has potential. The landscaping/plants need some TLC. Very unique playground equipment; more suitable for older kids as there's a lot of rope climbing, and not a single standard slide. I hope to see more added in the future; more playground equipment, more seating benches or even picnic tables under a roof-covered area as there is absolutely ZERO shade to be found. There are a couple of handicap inclusive options: the small merry-go-round is flush with the ground & had a seat (it's also the smoothest one I've ever seen) - also 1 plastic swing with an overhead, lap secured... uh I'm not sure what the term is for these, I'm sorry. Also a very nice walking/bike trail. No complaints really; I can see the potential & the effort that has gone into this location initially, I just hope the means & desire are available to see it through.

Edit/Update Summer 2022: The flooding issue at the parking lot is being fixed! It also appears that they are adding some play equipment. Hopefully these updates will make the park more usable. Basically a swamp. The parking lot is perpetually flooded. The walking trail is also regularly flooded. This could easily be fixed with some landscaping and drainage but maintenance/upkeep is virtually non-existent. Unsure why it is even classified as a park.

We love this park for the nature and because our dog can run to her heart's content. Wish they would maintain the parking lot and trails, they're basically lakes when it rains. If you're looking for a park with playgrounds and shelters this isn't it. If you don't like dogs this also isn't your park. If you want an easy trail walk through nature it's a lovely spot. Update: it looks as if a playground is going in, which is quite a bummer when you don't to deal with little people and unobservant parents.

It's a awesome spot to stop and look at beauty. A very nice trail with lots of wild flowers along the way. My two year old loved seeing all the butterflies and grasshopper.

Peaceful. Formally known as KCIR race way. Bike trail. Good place to walk, take your kids to run and let loose. Small area to park. No benches, trash cans or restrooms. I was there for a balloon release. It was the perfect place.

Originally went here to go fishing and I thought that the little bridge and little trail that walked across the Blue River would be a good place to go fishing but it was so much more difficult than I expected I'm sure once the actual Park gets finished being built it will be nice

Was much better as a drag strip. Now kids just race on the streets and almost kill others. City abused their powers and shut it down. Shame. Don't move next to a drag strip and then complain about loud cars. It was there before you. I now take my kids to ride bikes there, but there are many places to ride. Nowhere to race cars.

It's sorta just there. Nothing great at this point, though the play area seems nice and new. It could be awesome, but not right now. I doubt this area ever gets developed. Too many people being grumpy and difficult.

Secluded a bit but has a nice new playground and pretty flat loopish layout with plenty of nature to see. Has alot of potential. A connecter to access Rock Island Trail System would be great addition!

This used to be my favorite place to walk until the marsh was drained and now most of the wildlife has moved on. You can't change something like that and expect life to thrive. I'm very sad, every time we would go for a walk on this trail, we would see something different. It was like a little piece of heaven in the middle of a stressful day.
