You know what they say about lipstick and a pig? This hotel has had a facelift recently, but it is not great. The pool area has rust and mold. The carpet in the hallways had visible soiled spots. We had to switch rooms immediately after unpacking into Room 1 because the toilet wouldn’t flush. The front desk clerk was kind and helpful. The room is humid and everything feels damp.

I’ve stayed here twice now. Each time was for around a week long. The front desk staff are always super friendly, room service ladies are amazing at what they do and so nice as well. The pool has never been busy when I visit so it’s really nice being able to come down and relax. Breakfast tastes delicious. The rooms look gorgeous and nicely updated. Overall this is a great place to stay!

The hotel it's self is very nice. The first night we stayed, I'm pretty sure someone tried to break into our car because the back hatch alarm was going off when we left the next morning. The elevator sounded like a death trap. But other than that, it was a nice stay. I do have an issue with the bathroom doors. I'm not sure who thought a sliding door would be nice, but it made our stay very uncomfortable.

Decent hotel, rooms are clean,no freezer in the fridge, fridge doesn't keep things super cold just cool, breakfast the first morning was not done, potatoes were under cooked and so was the sausage patties, first night the inside pool was closed on a 98 degree day. Good to stay in, however for the price there is other local stays that are better. Service and employees were decent. I'll give this a 6/10

We came here last month (June) and just had to come back! 1. Brianna at the front desk was really nice, helpful, respectful, and friendly. 2. Cecelia in the kitchen was really nice, helpful, respectful, friendly, and just so sweet. Last month she asked if there was anything special we would like for breakfast, and I told her.... When I called to confirm our reservation, Brianna answered and remembered us right away and even said Cecelia asked about us to make sure we was definitely coming... she remembered us as well. These 2 ladies are 2 truly great ladies. 3. The rooms are very clean. The beds are really comfortable. The shower was amazing. We asked for a lower level room and handicap.... they was able to make sure of it. 4. Last month the swimming pool was nice, warm and felt great, unfortunately last night the pool was ice cold. They are getting the maintenance guy right on it though. 5. Lastly our experience here again was really great. Thank you all.

Nice hotel. Rooms were clean. Just be aware that when you check in, they automatically add a $100 incidental fee to your bill. This fee is supposedly (haven’t seen mine yet) refunded when you check out. When inquiring about the refund a week later, I was told it would take up to 30 days depending on your bank. Unfortunately, this fee is not disclosed when you are booking and does not appear on your confirmation receipt. It’s a poor business practice to not make customers aware of the policy until you’re checking in. At that point, they have you, because if you cancel your room, you’re likely to incur a cost for not canceling within the proper timeframe. Suggest taking $100 cash with you to request your cash back when checking out.

A very clean, nicely updated room with an incredibly comfortable bed! The black-out shade was an added bonus. I slept so much better than at home. The breakfast was average, but the desk staff and room attendants were very polite and helpful. This is my second time to stay here. Once Austin, this was a very pleasant experience.

NEVER STAY HERE!!! THEY STOLE MONEY FROM ME. I called to book a room for 2 nights. My card was charged 308. I arrived and checked into the hotel. Got my room keys and then checked my balance on my card they had actually charged me 430.06. I had to wait till the following day to speak with management. I told management that I would be checking out and at that point the owner told me. I was not getting my money back for the night I was not staying and he was also keeping my money for incidentals. So he stole $430 from me. For a 1 night stay!!! NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!! THEY WILL STEAL MY MONEY THEY WILL STEAL YOURS!!

We immediately noticed after checking in that there was only a trickle of water from the bathtub faucet when we tried to draw a bath. The water also never got warm. There was slightly more water from the showerhead, but very weak water pressure and again the water never got warm- only cool or lukewarm at best. We notified the front desk person immediately, and were told the issue would be addressed and we would be notified of a resolution. When we returned to the hotel for our next night’s stay the next evening, the issue was unresolved. We again informed the front desk clerk, also showing the clerk a video of the issue at this point. The clerk again assured us the issue would be addressed and that we would be notified of a resolution. Neither happened. We spent our entire 3 night stay without the ability to take an adequate or warm bath or shower ( a very basic expectation when paying to stay in a hotel.) We notified the clerk again when we checked out and requested to be informed what compensation would be offered to us. I contacted the manager on the following day. He informed me that he checked the room, and the water pressure was fine in the shower and with hot water, which was a blatant lie. I requested to be credited for 1 night of our 3 night stay, which I feel would have been a fair resolution. The manager refused, stating that all he could offer me was a 10% discount. There was absolutely not even a hint of an apology, and he seemed very unconcerned when I informed him I would be contacting the corporate office for Best Western and that we would not be returning to this hotel, despite our frequent visits to family in this area. Unbelievable! Don’t book a stay at this hotel. There are plenty of others in the area where I’m sure you can at least take a warm shower!

The only things good about this place was the location and super soft bed. The pool water is extremely cold you can't enjoy it. The bathtub had a slow trickle of water they said they'll look at it... NEVER DID I had to call again and yep you guessed it.... THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO. People spend their money and expect to be comfortable and enjoy the stay. I won't be back.

Our son lives in Independence and this is where we normally stay when we visit. We like to use the pool, but two times out of four visits it was closed. Disappointing. At this visit: the clerk at the front desk was not at all friendly or welcoming when we arrived. Only half the light in the bathroom worked, which we reported and it wasn’t repaired. We came back quite late Saturday night (around 11pm) and there was no one at the front desk and the phone was ringing off the wall. The elevator has been quite noisy with clanking and clunking, and has been that way since our first visit. Disconcerting. The breakfasts are hot and there is quite a variety to choose from, which is nice. Rooms are normally clean, and the beds are comfortable. I would expect things to work, a friendly staff, a pool that is open and a not scary elevator for $100 / night.

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. I chose this hotel because of all of the good reviews on google. Extremely disappointed. We were placed in a room next to the ice machine, the laundry and the pool. There was so much noise. I could hear the ice machine loud and clear every time someone used it even after I put towels at the bottom of my door and had a Hatch sound machine playing white noise. People were screaming at the pool. Plus several times throughout the night there were random car alarms going off in the parking lot. I woke up at midnight to a vehicle parked with their headlights pointed right at my window and they were blasting loud music. Came out in the morning to someone parked 5 inches from my vehicle so I had to move it just to get my children loaded. The room was not clean at all. You'd think that when you have to pay extra for a pet friendly room that it would at least be clean. There was hair all over and dead bugs in the corner of the bathroom. The beds were comfortable but I barely slept at all with all the incessant noise. Some creeper approached my husband in the hallway and tried to pay him to give him a ride to "get him out of here."

I was worried, bringing my dog, having seen poor reviews on here. We pre registered and said we had our dog, arriving late, and booked a pet friendly room, we had no issues at all. Our dog barked a few times because there were many other dogs around but otherwise fine. The rooms have tile floor, which was great for the dog but the industrial feel made me worry instead about my three year old cracking his head if he were to fall off the bed. Also sharp edges/corners on all the drawers and chairs. We were right across from the ice machine and laundry too, hence my poor rating of the room itself. But the hotel is in a great spot near cheap Sam's club gas and a Starbucks making our morning experience downright pleasant. No issues in the very well lit parking lot either.

Usually an okay place to stay but last time the hotel had a problem with the fire alarm going off at 4 in the morning and the sprinklers going off. The fire department had to shut off the power. We had to find somewhere else to stay. Thankfully Best Western did not charge us for the stay.

If I could give less than 1 I would. Looks nice on the outside but it’s all a joke. Floors and bedding were filthy. Plug in the bathroom is Hanging off the wall. Elevator sounds like a death trap about to be sprung. Oh!! And Beware there is a $100. / night incidentals deposit. Found a bed bug crawling across me I took it down to the clerk in a cup who just tossed it said sorry as he walked away. Argued extremely rudely with my daughter about what her real room number was when our keys didn’t work. Super rude to an elderly lady who walked up as he was arguing with my daughter. Trash on the ground from over flowing garbage cans outside. Hall way and stair carpet is super gross. The place has a musky stake smell. Don’t even get me started on the pool area. Don’t fall for their fake reviews!! Stay somewhere else!!

Had a great experience here. Comfy bed, liked the black out shades, a slew of channels available, etc. Didn't go to the pool cause that's not my thing, but it looked clean as I walked by. The breakfast, though, was the best I've ever had in a hotel setting. Usually, if you get up later, you miss out, but not here. The friendly server was continuously stocking and making sure everyone had a complete choice of items and hot coffee or juices. Would stay here again. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the elevator was clunky and honestly a lil frightening

The hotel was very clean and had a modern feel. The pool was dirty, and I didn't use it. There are plenty of channels to watch. Breakfast was very good!

Overall good experience! The room was clean, breakfast was good, and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. A few things to note: The pool water appeared cloudy which can be an indication that the chlorine is not working effectively. The elevator sounded clunky and was a little nerve wracking. The bathroom door is a sliding door and does not lock, which leaves little privacy and may be problematic for some folks sharing a room. Would stay here again despite these things!

Room was spacious and clean, bed was comfy, TV was big and good quality, hallways were quiet, no road noise, breakfast was decent, check in staff were friendly. No complaints!

Can't say enough good about this hotel. Room was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was great. On top of all that, I managed to leave a very important personal belonging in the room. It was a fathers day gift from my children with their pictures on it. When I realized what happened, I called the front desk and spoke with Brandon. He went out of his way to find the cup. Then on his own time took it to UPS and had it shipped to me. I'm so thankful for Brandon and his efforts. That cup is not replaceable and means the world to me. I know where I'll be staying anytime I'm in the KC area. Thanks again Brandon, you rock!!

Very quiet, clean with comfortable. Great value for price. Will definitely go there again if in that area. We did stick our choice of breakfast items in the microwave to get them a little hotter, but the food was tasty.

Nice, clean, Comfortable beds, nice breakfast. I always avoid the waffle makers. People line up at them as if they've never seen waffles. I'd rather use my home waffle maker. Not Best Western's fault, just people that act as if they've never been to town before.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were efficient and very kind every time we interacted. The parking lot and general area felt safe. I highly recommend this hotel, and will be staying here in the future!

They do not offer a late checkout unless you are willing to pay an additional $50. The payment not reason we get a hotel is to get some sleep and to get away for a bit. Every hotel I have been to has offered a late check out free of charge. It is clean and comfy, but this is the last time I will ever stay at a best western hotel. Well you might want to tell your employees the policies on these matters. I was told checkout was 11:00 and that it was $50 per hour after that. That is outrageous. Even $25 per hr is too much. I stay in hotels a lot and have never been asked to pay extra.

BRIANNA DESK CLERK 5 stars easily. My family had an unforeseeable death in family, and traveled near and far. Several of our family members were staying at Best Western. Brianna went beyond being an employee of Best Western, she became family making sure needs and concerns were met. We were greeted with genuine smiles and let me know if you need anything continously. Thank you Brianna for providing a great experience!!!!!

This hotel was great. The rooms were clean and well-lit, the bed had soft pillows, the bathroom was nice. Plus, the breakfast as definitely better than most other hotels. Welcoming staff, clean pool, nice location. We stayed here several days while on vacation and we had no complains, especially for what we paid.

Brianna at the front desk made our stay amazing! She catered to all of our needs from helping us with meals to laundry. We were an entire softball team and she made it pleasant for everyone. The hotel itself is on the smaller end but it’s very modern with comfy beds. The location is great as restaurants, malls, and entertainment are close.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. First and foremost, it was clean and comfortable. Snacks and drinks available at the front were affordable, the pool was clean and cold. Now for the real review. The staff here is UNMATCHABLE. Akash Patel has loving and kind employees in his hotel. Krishna, Brianna, Michael, and Cecelia made our stay enjoyable and very much like home. Our 3 day stay will never be forgotten and we cannot thank them enough!

In comparison with other two star hotels in its class, I give this five stars. Ninety two dollars before taxes was a deal. Super clean, updated, hot breakfast and friendly. The beds are versatile. I like to feel like I’m on a cloud and the other party thinks concrete is too soft. Southern hospitality is gone - Midwest now holds it true and dear.
