The Crescent Hotel, Where do I start this place is apasolutely hanging and falling apart. When we arrived the guy in reception told us there was some painting being done in the hallway and to expect a little mess. Which is fine but as we got further onto our room it was more coming to light this place is just filthy and has mould and damp problems. All the walls are crumbling and falling apart with leaks in ceilings etc. our room was discustingly dirty smelt of damp all of the doors and floors are so thin the person staying above us you could literally hear him using the toilet and stomping around all night so we didn’t get much sleep. It says on there website they offer daily cleaning but when u ask about this the lazy person in reception wants more money for this which it doesn’t state in website not to mention it’s not been cleaned properly before. There’s no breakfast either and the excuse is covid what a surprise. The shower is apasolutely awful and dirty along with the floor in the bathroom I felt cleaner before I had a shower. I would not recommend this place to anyone Wouldn’t be surprised if they have a animal infestation either.

I'm a contractor and have seen my fair share of bad hotels/B&B'S but Avoid at all costs, spend a little more and have a decent room. The hotel is disgusting and the bed was very uncomfortable. No telly remote the shower was either red hot or dead cold and the cheek of charging £5 a day room service is just wrong.

There’s most likely cleaner public toilets to stay in- the thought of getting arrested and staying in a police cell would be better- this place is filthy to the core infact you should be getting paid to stay here! How it’s even aloud to be open considering the state is very worrying. The photos on the website deceive you.

Booked in a panic to stay during Reading festival as I didn't want to camp and everywhere else was 2x the price. After reading the reviews I was very concerned about staying here but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, bed was comfy, and the bathroom (which was very modern) was small but clean and everything worked. |We had a kettle, mugs, coffee, tea and milk provided. The staff were very nice and I could leave my car there all weekend knowing it was safe. The only thing I found which was an issue was there was only one plug socket available. But other than that, it was good! Would definitely stay again for Reading Festival weekend.

Charged me twice, hotel is in terrible condition! Shared bathroom shower barely worked, floor in the bedroom was lifting and dangerous sleeping rough was a better option

Worst hotel I've ever been in! Serious mould problems. Filthy bed sheets, moody staff and generally a terrible place to stay. Stay clear.

Absolutely filthy, room furniture dropping to bits, tiny bathroom, stains all over the walls and ceiling, stained bedding.

I stayed here for work, check in was at four. The whole place was very run down and quite smelly. Really needed updating. Good location, I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you were desperate.

Filthy, poor bed, filthy shower room full of molds. Smelly room. Manager in the hotel she/he rather have negative feedback than to give satisfaction to their customers. Not recommend this hotel.

Low budget, minimum standards with minimal comforts. Fairly central location and a car park available. Steep stairs to all rooms, minimal staffing

The room carpets are stained and dirty, the bathroom dirty, the toilet still had urine on the bowl and seat. Bed linen was clean. The foyer looks pretty good, but do not be fooled by that... Looks are very deceiving. No air conditioning, so lots of street noise with window open for much needed fresh air. Rooms smell dusty. Very old and not maintained or loved... And it shows, as per pictures added. The 5-star sign out front is surely a feeble attempt at a joke!" It's one of the lowest quality hotels in UK.

We were there 3 weeks and the room was cleaned twice...1st clean after 4 days and the 2nd 7days...absolutely awful. No hot water twice as a result we had to use a communal bathroom. Definitely Not value for money. The hotel is in dire need of refurbishment ASAP. Wifi internet was awful.

The room was a bit run down but clean. Clean bedlinen, towels and shower room. Kettle, tea and coffee and that's all. Free parking with 12 min walk to Reading centre. Cheap and cheerful.

Highly Recommend not to Book! Terrible customer service, terrible staff! Terrible Manager also he is highly unprofessional about handling situations and is rude and greedy for money!
