Super friendly service, great location, not far from the city centre, we had chicken for lunch and it was delicious. The juice was also super good.

Really friendly staff, and delicious food! The Feijoada a moda da casa and Vaca Atolada were both really great (particularly with added chilli!) and the Pastel de Nata is better than many that we had in Lisbon!

Never been to Brazil so not qualified to say its authentic or not, but you're definitely guaranteed to get a hearty and delicious meal! We were given suggestions and encouraged to try out things we hadn't tried or even heard of before, making the whole experience very exciting. Will have to go back and sample some more items!

Feijoada was good but the highlight was the coxinha (they make to order, very good). Coconut ice cream was also a good desert option. Good price either.

Best coffee in Reading. Lovely family run business as well. Great vibes and not too overpriced for the quality you're getting. The owner has told me the coffee beans are actually imported from Portugal or Brazil, which would explain why the coffee is just so damn good. Their dishes are awesome, the sandwiches are nice but bread is not amazing (just store bought stuff). So I'd recommend going with a full meal which is definitely worth it, or the soups which are very tasty.

Food is fantastic. I keep coming back. I like going on my own because I can take my time to enjoy the food, the music, the beer etc.

Great Brazilian shop + family restaurant. The feijoada was exactly as I remember in Brazil, home made, and I could feel the love that Ivy (I hope is the right spelling) put in that plate! Something difficult to write in words but that feeling of a mom’s or auntie’s plate that has a special touch. Very good variety of dishes and snacks at a good price, made with Brazilian products. Easy to park in the nearby streets (for free for 2h). No doubt I would go again - I want to try more, and 100% recommend it!

The food is tasty and quite similar to the one in Brazil. I had feijoada, which comes with lots of sausages. Cupuaçu juice you must try. Staff is friendly. Just some annoying flies bugging around. They also sell many Brazilian products.

What an amazing café. It was a truly special experience and made me feel like I am in Brazil. Food is perfect and delicious. Service is very friendly, cheerful and helpful. The the decor is vibrant and pleasant. The store it self offers plenty of Brazilian and Portuguese product, which most of it I never seen or didn't know what they are, but nice stuff did help me with the purchase. Now this is one of my favourite spot in Reading and I will definitely come back again.

Delicious, freshly home-cooked, authentic food caters for vegetarians and vegans. The staff was very kind and friendly, and the atmosphere was excellent—a gem of a restaurant.

I casually stumbled upon this gem hidden in Reading and couldn't be happier. Good vibes and full-of-life atmosphere pervade the shop. The coffee was great and I bought a package to try home with my Italian moka. I'll definitely come back again to munch some food and have another chat with the lovely owners.

My new favourite lunch spot! The food was delicious with a wide variety of vegetarian options. What a wonderful atmosphere- it feels like visiting someone in their dining room and the owners’ warm hospitality matches the ambiance of the cafe. I’ll be back for custard tarts and coffee!

We went there Sunday 25 July 2021 after reading numerous comments about the place. We had a different meal each, plus a starter plate; each one very nice, a very generous portion too. The hostess was a charming Brazilian woman, made us feel welcome; the eating area lovely décor, atmosphere. Other people here have used the word ‘gem’, in this case very appropriate. Excellent time there. Update I forgot to mention the music, nice, relaxing Update - went there for another meal June 2922, again excellent, another occasion just for coffee; photographs of Brazil, a map, the music really takes you away. Thoroughly enjoyable.

My only regret is that I haven't visited earlier 😊! Delicious food and fresh drinks that will compel you to come back again and again. Their coconut ice cream - top notch 😋 served in a coconut 🥥 shell. Thanks Pau Brasil!

Amazing place. I always feel really welcomed at Pau Brasil. The food is very traditional and the customer service is absolutely brilliant. A great place to catch up with friends while enjoying Brazilian food and music.

A gem of a place. The members of staff are friendly and there is a wide variety of authentic Portuguese and Brazilian products to choose from. The natas, I suppose, are the best you'll find in Reading. I wish this place continued success. Obrigado.

What a lovely surprise! We stopped by for a coffee but got a look at a plate of food & decided to come back for lunch. Everything was delicious! We ordered the chicken and rice special, the black bean & rice veggie sausage, my kids got a few apps like the cod fish, also an acai bowl, 2 desserts, & lots of coffee. The lady at the front was so sweet and helpful along with the waiter. We'll definitely be back!

Nice shop! The staff is very friendly and it has a good variety of sweets to have with coffee. I have not tasted savoury foods, so I cannot comment on that. The prices are similar to other coffee shops, a little bit expensive. The coffee was tasty and it came with a cinnamon stick, which I really liked. The almond tart was very tasty, but the sweet cream roll was a little too stiff (probably from the fridge). The shop is very small so it might not be possible to get a table. We were lucky to get one and sit outside and it was very nice. I wish they had the prices for the pastries visible. I also wish they had more units of each pastry. Overall I had a good time and would go again.
