I've wanted to bring my son to this place for a while. we decided to have a boys afternoon out. Being with a 3 year old I anticipated to be there less than 45 minutes. Roll on nearly 3 hours later and I had to pull him away to leave. There's a lot crammed into a small area. They have maxmimised the space. A great deal of things to look at and read for the adults and older children, whilst plenty of fun things for the younger kids. This includes plenty of hands on things. Such as a magneto creating a spark from a spark plug. A inside workings of a radial engine, Morse code communications.. not to mention the helicopter you can sit in, and the big Handly Page outside. The volunteers were very welcoming and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. £4 for an adult. £3 for a child with free parking onsite. We will be back!! Thank you for putting together such a great museum.

Truly enlightening experience of British aviation history, this will interest many young people & parents alike! Well organized display of aircrafts, books, photos, tools & and full scale planes in this small-sized museum! Highly recommended & the entrance fees are small (£10 / family), very little traffic even on weekends. Thanks to veteran volunteers for the guided your, we were honored to be escorted through the museum by Mr Keith.

Lovingly run mini-museum which is somehow packed with more aircraft memorabilia than locations twice its size. This is essentially a large warehouse/hanger packed with all sorts of aircraft, models, interactive exhibits and more. The pride and joy is a large BEA propeller plane flown by Prince Philip for one of his Latin American tours. Incredibly impressive for a small scale operation.

Small museum, artefacts are so close that you can smell them. Friendly staff. It feels more like airplane storage rather that museum- it has no commerciality added. Cheap tickets. Lots of British and local aviation history.

This museum is full of planes or parts of aircrafts. There is probably too much crammed into a relatively small space. The information given varies in clarity and quality. There is a gallery with additional information, climbing some stairs. The place is open on selected days and is probably run by volunteers, and one must admire the dedication which has gone into creating this museum. A highlight is the old BEA aircraft situated outside. It was once piloted by the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, and one can enter and have a look inside this aircraft.

Small but enthusiastically run aviation museum. Lots of interesting exhibits and stories, mostly very local to the site which is on the former aerodrome and aircraft factory. Definitely worth a visit.

What a cracking little museum this is, volunteers have a lot of knowledge and even though it was near closing time we wasn't rushed to leave. Instead had a great conversation whilst on the Handley.

What a brilliant museum this is! Whilst small in ground footage, what is inside is incredible, jammed full of British aviation history, memorabilia & exhibits including original aircraft, fine detailed models, aircraft components, polaris missile cut away genuine exhibit and much more. Could spend whole day here if try to fully absorb and immerse oneself in everything! Outside there is a Fairey Gannet and Handley Page Dart Herald (interior viewing highly recommened). This is must visit for anyone interested in aviation heritage and run by dedicated volunteers & aviation veterans who are happy to give a full insight into almost everythjng there. We highly recommend visiting.

A small but wonderful slice of British aviation history. All manner of plane and helicopter lovingly restored by local experts some of whom worked in the aircraft factory.

Lots of models and descriptions of historical aeroplanes - especially those that were manufactured nearby. It's especially good if you have an older relative who can relate to the exhibits.

Interesting museum, focusing on aircraft built by companies local to Berkshire. I knew very little about these planes but it was fascinating to go round and read the information boards. There's lots of interactive displays, including a morse code signaller, explanation of wing flight etc. There was a polaris warhead on display which was surprising. The volunteer staff there are very friendly and helpful. You can sit inside the helicopter in the middle of the warehouse and the bea plane outside that was once piloted by royalty. Take time to read the display information as there's a lot of insightful and interesting information about the pieces on display, I commend the dedicated staff here maintaining the pieces on display. Recommended.

This is a great little hidden gem. Super friendly staff, lots to see, and you can even sit on the plane, which my daughter loved! We were only there for 90 minutes or so, but it's definitely worth a trip if you even only have the slightest interest in aviation

Located just outside of M25, small aviation museum however have some interesting exhibits. Entry fee is just £4. I would recommend to visit if you are somewhere nearby but probably don’t worth to travel from central London etc, as there are much better alternatives available. P.S. I believe a bit of extra funding would improve visitors experience dramatically.

This modest looking museum on the historic site of Woodley Airfield is an excellent exhibition of Berkshire's contribution to aviation history. One does not have to be deeply knowledgeable about aviation as it can be enjoyed on many levels. There are full size and model aircraft for enthusiasts, along with photographs and personal stories of the people who worked there. The local history of the site is also interesting. Children have plenty to do, such as a helicopter to sit in and working models to operate. There is a small tea/ coffee/ snack refreshment area and shop. We did not see everything as there is a lot to take in and will return in better weather to explore the outdoor exhibits.
