Absolutely stunning park to visit with family, children or pets. It is ever so welcoming with all of its areas to accommodate such different interests, hobbies and pleasures. I have never seen so many sections all in one park like this park can offer before. From ancient ruins, flower/rose gardens, gorgeous lake, a lovely waterfall, areas for recreation, sport areas, fishing, the list goes on and on. I was so impressed and one could easily spend the whole day here. I would totally recommend this place even if you have to drive a while to get here.

This was such a great night πŸŒ™ we went to see illuminate in the park, which is an event held in different locations around England with different light shows. This one was a magical Forrest theme with fairys πŸ§šβ€β™‚οΈ πŸ‘Έ and talking trees 🌳 and lights synced to music 🎢 you can also cook marshmallows over a fireπŸ”₯ pit and there are places to stop mid route for a nice hot chocolate 🍫 or something else would definitely recommend a visit to one of these amazing shows. I will also be returning for a lovely πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈaround the park when the show is over as i ❀️ nature

Part of the Crown Estate. We've visited here for many years and it never gets old. Beautiful place to walk, relax, or ride a bike. We always park at Watersplash lane on the Ascot side and walk in. If your energetic you can walk the full distance to Windsor Castle.

Started off from the Virginia water South car park and walked around the majority of the park. Spent over 5 hours here in total. Parking is expensive if you are just visiting the park. To soften the blow, the cost is included if you visit the Savill garden. It was pretty busy in a few places, sharing space with cyclists and horse riders at various points. There are multiple detours to see statues and landmarks. Including great views of Windsor castle at various points. I saw approximately 3 places to stop for food. The toilets seem to be closer to the Savill garden, relatively far from the south car park. A very good place to spend a day, with plenty to see. There are well laid paths for the vast majority of the walks and it is mostly flat.

Great for a longish walk as you can easily do a 10 to 12km circuit and it's quite varied. I didn't pay to park (walked from a friend's house) but believe the southern car parks are quite expensive now. They already were when I took my mother a couple of years ago! Several kiosks and cafes on the eastern and southern sides. Not much north and west but you can pop into Windsor

I went here last week. I didn’t research it properly first and it came as a surprise. This is not like the local parks or any other park I’ve been to before. It’s far bigger and much more varied. I walked around it, stopping and starting, for just under three hours. I barely saw a small fraction of it in this time. It’s got a quite a lot of different things to do, from places to get a drink and snack to a garden centre, wooded areas, ponds, a lake, flowered areas. I parked in one of the car parks, not thinking about where it was in relation to other things. I found it easy to get a space, but it was quite expensive. The signposts are fairly few and far between. If you want to see something specific, it would make sense to plan in advance how you’ll get to it including which car park you’ll go in and the route you’ll take to walk to it. You could easily spend a full day here. I only had a few hours but I wish I’d had more time. It’s very much worth bringing food and water and wearing comfortable clothes. Overall, a great place, but I recommend planning before you come here.

Wonderful park! This park is huge you can walk around here all day if you wanted to with food and drink vans dotted around the entire park. Plus a lovely shop with a little cafe with plenty of seating indoors or out. There is a part of the park where you can pay to enter which is a very well kept garden with lots to see. Great lakes and wonderful wildlife for all the family. Enjoy!

A great day out for all the family. This huge park has so much to offer. There are plenty of paths to walk, cycle, skate or run down. There's a polo field in the centre of the park, playgrounds, toilets, a cafe, plenty of flowers and wildlife, as well as a huge lake and a few smaller ponds. There's lots to explore, it's great for kids and adults.

Windsor great park is a huge park near Windsor open for free to the public. Best way to visit is to take the long walk from Windsor Castle and head to the statue of King George 3rd in the distance. From there you get fantastic views back to the castle and over to London. You can then walk thru the woodland and are likely to spot deer.

Beautiful place to unwind, relax and hear the birds sing! If you’re lucky you can catch a great sunset here too. Plenty of parking available, paths to walk on or places to just sit and chill.

Well maintained park with great scenes. Here you will not only see swans&deers, but also find small waterfalls and Roman ruins. We walked all the way from Sunningdale to Windsor Station, very flat (but slight muddy) walk which took us around 5hours. Recommend.

Beautifully landscaped gardens, really well maintained. Some of the best I’ve seen with magnolia flowers the size of your head! Great place for casual walks, jogging routes, cycling off-road, or just relaxing in nature. Bring a good pair of shoes as it’s not all pavement pathways. Car park was a bit pricey at Β£3 per hour!

Wonderful place to walk. Very serene! I was staying in Cumberland Lodge for a week long conference, so only managed a small portion of what the park had to offer. Beautifully maintained gardens and amazing wildlife. Highly recommend!

First time at a Christmas light show. I was blown away by the scale of the light show, just amazing. My particular favourite was the disco in the wooded area, such a great experience. Will be going again next year.

A lovely easy walk and great place in general, but don't go if you do not like dogs. Our 2 loved making new doggy friends. The lake walk is really nice, and I go right from the visitor centre and follow around roughly halfway before walking to the right hand side of the totem pole. Then I keep going, walk as far as the Guards Polo ground before going left, through the gates (cafe and WC here) and down through the trees where I end up back at the totem pole When allowing plenty of time for dogs to sniff, play and make friends, the walk can be about 90 mins long. But you can extend by following different paths - map easily downloaded from website.

Virginia Water is a beautiful place to picnic for couples and families also for photographers and nature lovers. The Roman ruins which were moved there from Libya have an interesting back story involving the painter Augustus Earle. The lake itself is calming and majestic.

Huge, quiet and astonishing park. If you enjoy a good walk you can easily workout different routes from few minutes to 3 hours. Be careful as you'll find horses, cyclists and sometimes even car and buses. Make sure you bring water in a hot day.

I walked the long walk going to great park and it was wonderful! I took about 40 minutes going and 50 minutes coming back cause i have a knee problem and i need to walk more slow. The park ir realy great, as the name say, but you could enjoy more if you go on bike or if you are traveling by car, because its an extensive park and far away from Windsor

A beautiful day to experience the Spring blossom and flowers . The Great Park is a wonderful place to visit throughout the year but especially at this time, when everything is coming back to life . So much to see and enjoy , the Valley gardens massed with daffodils and magnolia trees, the Savill garden, heather garden, lakes and Totem pole to name but a few. Huge variety of trees, shrubs and plants , something different to see wherever you walk. Enjoy a meal in the restaurant , or on the terrace overlooking Savill garden , have a wander round the shop full of beautiful gifts, cards and many other items. There is also a cafe on the other side of Virginia Water , close to the car park. So much for everyone to see and enjoy.

This was a lovely park with excellent paths for walking! I was able to enjoy a romantic sunset with my partner here, and it is good for any occasion, from picnics, walks, and outings with the family! I would recommend for anyone who wants to get away from the town nearby, and have a nice experience outdoors.

Such a selection of beautiful walks and beautiful plants...can get very busy, but usually one can still find a place to get away from it all.. the Punch Bowl my favourite place, as well as Savill Garden (although there's a fee for entering the latter).

Rain, sunshine or snow, this huge park will always be my happy place. Every season adds its own unique touch to this royal standard maintained forest/country park and garden. It's so vast that you need to walk here daily for a week to be able to cover the entire area from Windsor to Virginia Water. So many happy memories here are so many more to be had.

It was a great experience to be there it's organised once every year. So book the tickets in advance and also book the parking along with the tickets as its extra cost. You can spend around 2 to 3 hrs and it's a great experience. There are food and drinks available at the start and mid point, but as usual pay extra for that.

What a wonderful experience and great to bring your dog to, our boy loved the walk in the woods. Lights were amazing think it would be great if we could move to this kind of display and not fireworks for other times of the year would for sure go back again well worth the money.

Absolutely stunning, a very brief walk around a small portion of this great park. Lovely to see deer and stag roaming free. My first time seeing Windsor Castle, albeit from a distance, what a Goliath of a national monument.

Great walk and amble about . Lots of people , put wander off the main tracks , and you are there alone . Stunning views out to the Castle and all the way to the Shard and London Eye . Copper Horse Statue and King George III. George III (1738–1820) was born in Britain and spoke English as his first language. Early in his reign, Great Britain defeated France in the Seven Years’ War, becoming the dominant European power in North America and India. However, many of its American colonies were soon lost in the American War of Independence. The populace of New York City destroyed his equestrian statue, dedicated there in 1770, shortly after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, six years later.
Since George III suffered from recurrent, and eventually permanent, mental illness in the later part of his life, he played a minor role in the wars against Napoleonic France.

Lovely to find this open space with breathtaking views. Wide roads for cyclists and dog walkers. Very long roads that don't quite lead to where I expected it to and eventually end up lost, but passersby are friendly enough to point me in the right directions.

There's so much to do across Windsor Great Park. We live locally and we are always discovering new and exciting areas of nature. It's worth taking a walk to the Village in the centre, and you'll see some amazing areas - including the Post Office and General Store when the village was completed and the stone laid by King George VI (no Dogs Allowed!)

Recently we have visited an amazing, well kept Windsor Great Park. Absolute pleasure to walk around the lake, many different routes or just sit on benches ( so many of them there!), relax and enjoy listening to chirping birds. Windsor Great Park is a Royal Park. Its 2,020 hectares (5,000 acres) of parkland, which includes a Deer Park, is a varied landscape of formal avenues, gardens with beautiful plants, woodland and open grassland. The antiquity of the landscape is enhanced by the scattering of great ancient oaks for which the Great Park and its forest are renowned. Once part of a vast Norman hunting forest which was enclosed in the late 13th century, the Park is now managed by The Crown Estate. You can watch horse rides there too. Special, well maintained path is provided for them. Cyclist, runners and dog walkers are welcome. Dogs have to be kept on the lid though not to disturb wild life there. You can find there the eye-catching stone bridge that crosses Virginia Water that was built between 1822 and 1827 on the site of two earlier bridges. The first wooden 'Great Bridge' was built as part of the Duke of Cumberland's works in the eighteenth century and rose in a single span. The second, the Great Stone Bridge, completed in 1789, was so dilapidated by 1826 that the architect Sir Jeffry Wyatville judged that it would be folly to repair it. His own massively constructed Five-Arch Bridge has lasted relatively unchanged for 180 years There are also Roman ruins there you can see. Unfortunately, on our visit the gate was locked, so we couldn't come very close, but still have managed to get some shots of it. :) You will also come across the Totem Pole, which is another interesting landmark in this park. It is currently going through restoration. Great place to bring kids for sure! Lots of cafes and toilets facilities there too! The car parks very specious considering the huge park! It was lots of people on our visit there and understandable why - the place is very picturesque! We have really loved the unforgettable time we have spend there and definitely recommend it.

A great place to cycle around, but it's best enjoyed out of season or on a gloomy day otherwise it gets busy. Some hills to climb but nothing too hard. Great views, especially over the long walk. Smiths lawn is also worth a look if you're here. Saw a couple of polo practice matches last time.

A lovely walk in a secluded area so close to London is a treat. The horse statue is impressive and strangely lost at this far end of the park. A little explanation of its presence in that spot would be useful on site. All in all, a good moment which would have been perfect without those planes every 2 mn...

Fabulous light show. Highly recommended. However when we were there, the mud was deep in places. Families with toddlers in buggies were struggling. Not really suitable unless you are steady on your feet and can walk the circuit.

Picturesque gardens with lots of interesting ornamental, architectural and horticulture interest. There are paths cross crossing the park and a mixture of habitats including rhododendron groves, woodland, grassland, manicured lawns and flowerbeds and ponds and lakes.
