After suffering with an abscess during the lockdown and being unable to get access to treatment on the NHS, I went to Ivy Cross Dental on the recommendation of a number of friends. The treatment I received was second to none. From the welcoming and professional reception staff all the way through to the dentist, Dr Geoff Cockrell, I found the whole experience to be exceptional. Throughout the whole process I was lead through my treatment plan and fully informed and consulted. The nurses were reassuring, kind and made time to put me at ease during what I thought could have been a very worrying time I would have no hesitation in recommending the practice.

Geoff is the best dentist I’ve ever had !!! For someone petrified of the dentist , he has the most amazing bed side manner & so calming & gentle . I was never scared going to Geoff ! I have front crowns he done for me over 20 years ago still perfect! I would love to be a patient again once I’ve financially recovered from pandemic times !!! I have clients who followed him to his new practice & wont go anywhere else . Very highly recommended

After a recommendation, I decided to go to this dentistry to see what I needed to do to get my teeth in order (hadn’t been to a dentist for 4 years). I was expecting bad news. Geoff and Eve welcomed me warmly and put me at ease right away. Geoff proceeded to x-ray and take photos of the individual problem teeth, explaining his methodology along the way. I was shown the photos immediately and Geoff explained the problem each tooth presented and gave me detailed presentation of the solution. This all helped me feel at ease and to have confidence in the treatment plan that followed. Geoff gave me anaesthetic injections, which I hardly noticed him doing. When my teeth were being prepared for crowns, I felt no pain whatsoever. Geoff counted down from 15 each time he went in, so that I knew when I would get a rest from the drilling (not that I needed it). Everything Geoff did was explained fully and at no point did I feel any unease. My crowns and fillings are now done and my teeth feel batter than ever. Fantastic dentist and thoroughly lovely team. Recommend highly.

Having had problem wisdom teeth and being let down by previous dentist, I was persuaded and reassured by Josie to see Geoff. He even, very kindly, squeezed me in on a Saturday afternoon last minute to ensure we found a solution to my problem because of the pain. 2 X-rays later and a very thorough discussion with Geoff and Josie we found the problem! Booked in for tooth extraction next week, which I never thought I’d feel so unanxious about! Highly recommend! Such a beautiful practice aswell, warm welcome making even the most nervous patient feel at ease!

Best dentist ever. I was relaxed as soon as I came into the surgery and Geoff explains everything exactly and always makes sure you know exactly what is happening. We come from 1 hour away, that's how good Geoff and his team is. He even phoned us ahead saying he was running late (understandable if a previous patient is late) and was on time!

I can honestly say that throughout my life, I have never had treatment like this! Both Geoffrey and Eve (as well as the Reception team) are always so professional and yet friendly at the same time. Geoffrey will always explain what he is about to do and give clear instructions about the treatment. He is a brilliant dentist and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a dentist in the Shaftesbury area. Thank you - your treatment is second to none and I am so glad you are my dentist!

Dentist extraordinaire! From the initial phone call (on a Saturday morning) to the treatment itself, I was amazed at the professionalism at this dental surgery. Geoff has a wonderful manner and reassures his patients by explaining in plain English what needs to be done and how. His couch-side manner is exemplary, his knowledge beyond compare, and his treatment second to none. From someone who has always found the dentist an uncomfortable experience my checkup and hygiene appointments were a wonderful experience from start to finish. Geoff and Yvonne will make you feel at ease with their professionalism and extensive knowledge. The surgery is finished to a beautiful standard and you are made to feel at home throughout. Parking is directly outside so very convenient. Have booked my next checkup, would definitely recommend if you are a nervous patient.
